when did you start using a barbell?

I've been doing Cathe workouts for over a year. i started with basic step and body fusion, doing the add-ons for strength. Then I got supersets/pushpull, then Bootcamp and ME and now I just got bodymax 2. The heaviest weights I have are 10 # dumbells. I think am ready to go a little heavier. should I get 12 # and 15 # dumbells or should I take the plunge and get the barbell? When did you start?

Muscle Max was my 1st serious wt DVD. I had never been into wts before, except maybe some light ones in other instructors circuits. I started it with 3/5/8/10 lb dumbbells, and quickly got 12s when I decided I liked it. The barbell came not long after that - maybe 2 or 3 months after I got the DVD. And I love it!!! Buy one, you won't regret it.

Okay, my birthday is coming up, June 16th so I have decided that this will be what I ask for. ;) I started ME with the same wieghts you did for MM, and I have seen such gains in the short amount of time I have added it to my routine. Can't "weight" to try a barbell!
 
I just recently aquired mine also & I've been using heavier weights for probably 5 yrs now. LOVE IT!! I got acheapy set to start out & see how I liked it. Kmart 5 ft bar & 1110 bs of weights & the hand held barbell comes with it for $69.99. Which I didn't think was bad. I like it & am happy that I am finally like one of the crew :p
