What's your dream job?

You might have already landed your dream job day to day -- Fabulous! If so, let me know. And, if not, what is/was your dream?

I'm just always curious to find out others' interests and how they chose their path....

Like Dr. Phil says: "I want you to be excited about your life!"

Cheers!

to get paid for working out :) or at least helping others to workout

disappointed to discover they are not it -- Bernard Bailey

Recording singing artist. I sang in wedding and jazz clubs for years and recorded some stuff. I would love to have a continuous singing career.

Park Ranger or something where I could be outdoors and not stuck sitting in an office. If not a park ranger, then getting paid for working out and helping other people workout. Anything physical, in fact. I was thinking about posting to talk about desk jobs, actually!

I have several "dream" jobs.

I'd love to do something with music...not sing or write it, but have my own weekly radio show where I could showcase new or different styles of music. I'm really into a genre of musical classified generally as "new age" (although it was "new age" back in the 80's -- the label sort of stuck, though).

Another "musical" dream job would be to select soundtrack music for movies.

I'd also love to work with animals, although I think I would also find that to be sad - you know, having to work with abused or dumped animals. I feel like I should give every stray dog or cat a home, but I know that realistically I can't. It makes me sad to see a stray of any kind.

Another dream job would be someone who finds settings for movies. The only problem with that is that I'm not a good airline traveler. I guess that's why this would be a "dream" job, huh? :7

Being a writer is another candidate for dream job...and I've been writing a book for a little over a year now. Hopefully, this will help me propel this from a dream job to a reality.

With all that said, I do have an incredible job! I have an awesome boss. It's actually the best job and the best boss I've ever had...but I'm still tied to a clock and a commute. Working my own hours from my own location-of-choice would definitely be a dream come true for me!

Seems like animals, travel, producing, and fitness pop up as regular themes. Maybe we could develop our own production company that travels the world shooting fitness/wellness safaris -- raising money for pet shelters, of course! (My dream!)

RE: What's your dream job????/ Uh,,no talk?

Personally, I am on the angry side and will not respond to newswomen ..but think it is probably .. best to edit this note....

I DO get paid to work out, and it's wonderful! My next step from here would be to have one wealthy client like Oprah! Or several, my wealthy client and her friends!
Just Do It! :)

My first choice would be a paramedic. The only thing that I would get hung up on is having to treat a hurt child.

My second choice would be a behavioral analyst. Having a 7 year old autisic child has really opened my eyes.

I would actually love to be a chef in my own restaurant, but with someone managing the business aspect. I think cooking or creating is very therapeutic, has proven to be very delicious, and is the ultimate job for me, if I am in the mood. I love the actual work: chopping, slicing, etc; I feel almost meditative. Seems to me that my food, while palatable when it's a chore, is not as savory as when I am very much in the mood to prepare it.

Good question, as there are often people that wonder what they might have been if they hadn't chosen what they are now.

On another note, sometimes I can be very graceful in the kitchen, but sometimes I'm not. That's why I mentioned a caveat: If I'm in the mood.

I guess that's why I'm not a chef.:-(

You know, I have the same "dream". Maybe we could open up a little restaurant together and keep our fingers crossed that I would be in the mood to cook on the days you weren't and vice versa--LOL!

Wandering around in the woods identifying wildflowers and birdwatching would be my dream job. And since we're dreaming, there would be no bugs, no rain, the woods would be on whatever continent or island I wished that day, and I could take a break and read any time I wanted. Oh yeah, and while I'm naming wildflowers and birds in the appropriate regions, I'd like to taste the wines of said region. Maybe I'll even discover a new bird or flower and it will be named in my honor. Robinella beautiflora.

To open a fitness/yoga/massage studio with an Eastern feel that is relaxing and energizing. It would have a definite Eastern feel with warm saffron and touches of maroon and the walls would have pictures of big bright mandalas. There would be a space with comfy pillows and chairs and bookshelves full of books on Eastern philosophies, holistic health, fitness and nutrition. There would be a sunlit room for yoga filled with props, bolsters, straps and 'whales' to assist with stretches. There would be a fitness room with weights where I could train clients hard and follow it with massage and passive stretching. In the back is another space solely for massage. The name of it would be 'Parinama' which is Sanskrit for 'Transformation'. Obviously I have thought about this A LOT! This is my priority in my 5 year plan. Problem is evertime I make long term plans the universe has other plans for me. Ah well, it got me right where I am now right!?!:)

I already have a dream job and a dream part-time job: I investigate and prepare domestic violence crime cases for criminal charging and prosecution (that's my "real" job, as my mother would say), and I teach two water aerobics classes per week. Thus I have full-time AND part-time opportunities to do a lot of good for a lot of people, get paid for doing it, have my brain and soul challenged on a regular basis, and lead a dream group-fitness population while getting in a great workout myself. My aqua types are so sweet and dear, and they work hard.

If I didn't have my dream "day-job", I'd like to be a paramedic, police officer or (believe it or not) 911 dispatcher. I've listened to enough 911 call recordings to know how crucial dispatchers are to public safety; IMHO they are truly unsung heroes of modern life.

RE: What's your dream job????/ Uh,,no talk?

>Yes, Robin, what did you find offensive about the original
>post?

There is nothing offensive about this original post.

My post had only to do with something else I was angry about, which upon furthur reflection I had decided not to discuss on this thread(so I edited my post). The really important thing was I edited my post and no one was called a "poopie head" in the end.!;-)

I always wanted to work with animals. I mostly wanted to work in the nursery at a zoo where the orphaned or rejected babies are cared for but I've also considered working in a vet's office, at a groomer's, etc..

As of right now, I'd still like to work with animals in some capacity but I'm also very interested in becoming certified as either a PT or to teach a fitness class.

I am actually going to be looking into both avenues soon as I'd like to get back to work on a part time basis.
