What would Cathe do?????

Hey everyone!! I'm sitting here at work and I'm bored (probably should be working)}( (but don't wanna) :p But I just had a thought for all of you jewelry makers or even Cathe's marketing peeps--how about a W.W.C.D. bracelet?! I know that the W.W.J.D. bracelets help many people make their daily decisions a little bit easier when they're confronted with a moral dilemma, but what if we're faced with a donut dilemma?!:9 Think about it, you're standing face-to-face with the donut table at work--should you or shouldn't you?? x( You glance down at your wrist and.......violaaaaaaaaa!!! There's the answer!! ;-) It'd also help on those days when you just don't feel like working out, or even getting out of bed for that matter!!!}(
Just another one of my silly random thoughts...........

Too cute Ashley! And, you know what....I THINK it just might work!

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love it!! I could have used one of those bracelets this morning when someone in the office had a birthday, and of course there is now all this CAKE around!!!!!!!!

Really cute idea Ashley... however, I think Cathe has mentioned she has a sweet tooth, and she can "afford" to cheat once in a while.

I should print that in VERY LARGE letters and hang it by my desk!!!!! LOL!!

I think this is a great idea. We can even make them ourselves with the letters and twine. Wow-my kids could make these for us and keep them busy these last few days before school starts. LOL

Well come on, Diana, crack that whip!!!! There's cake on the loose and it must be resisted!!!:) }( }( :)

This is a little late, but, Ashley, you are too funny! I think I may just write this on some post-its and stick them up around the house!

I actually have a Lance Armstrong "livestrong" bracelet. It is bright yellow and works the same way. He is a hard trainer and disciplined.

It is also quite the fashion statement among cyclists!
Melissa

My brother has one of the Lance bracelets! He lives in Portland and they all wear them to show their support for all that he represents. I think that the WWCD bracelet would HAVE to be purple, though, just b/c it's fun!! Tee hee!!!}(

I'd feel much better about Lance Armstrong if I knew he spent as much time with his children as he does training and competing.

I'm not sure of his whole story but I believe he had one or two children during and after his cancer recovery. I mean, did he have them because he thought he was not going to live and now not really spend much time with them? I know his divorce was amicable but what about them? Do they ever see their father?

I know this may sound ridiculous to some of you Lance die hards but I'm not into hero worship.

I'd love to have my assumptions corrected?

I'm not a die hard Lance fan, but I'm not really into hero worship. Also, no one is perfect. I am inspired by him because I have read 2 of his books (Every Second Counts was great, It's Not About the Bike was a rehashing of the first one - depends on which one you read first!)
and he is one of the most disciplined athletes on the planet. When he talks about just his training regime and thought process I really see how he wins. Chris Carmichael, his trainer, is also coming out with a lot of training stuff now. My husband points out that if you train for only one race a year (and not the whole season and multiple courses like other riders), you'd better win that one race.
His cancer recovery was a combination of medical technology and a sheer will to recover. That part alone is amazing. Out of the 5 people I hike with, 3 have had cancer in the last few years and we are all under 50. I have to keep inspiration like Lance around.
He may not be perfect. He does spend a lot of time with his kids, I think and they are always at races. His own father was not around and his Mother is is best pal, so I think he takes kid raising seriously.
Anyway, that is my take. I try not to judge him for his family situation - there are 2 people in a relationship and I can't imagine that his rocket to fame and his cancer recover didn't change he and his wife. I am just inspired by his sheer will.
Melissa

Thanks, Melissa

Everyone has reasons for feeling the way they do about things. I'm very sensitized to situations where children are put on the back burner because the parents have other priorities. Having raised a child, I just can't imagine how he can spend so much time training and at the same time be a father to his boys. Seems to me after beating cancer, training for and winning six international bike races, you might want to spend more time with your kids.

I like looking at the big picture before I decide to admire someone for their accomplishments.

To each their own
:)

I, personally, haven't done any research on Lance Armstrong so I don't feel comfortable speculating on his personal life. I do, however, admire those who are in peak physical condition for their dedication and performance. Just my op--didn't want anyone to think I was a hero-worshipper-person-thing!!!:) }(

Ashley,

I just look at things differently. And, I stand corrected. He has three children, a son and a pair of girls (twins). I hope he's half as good a father as he is at winning races.
