Small world! Those were the same cars we had before we moved to the UK. In the summer I would convince DH that he had to let me drive the convertible. ;-)

You'll laugh at this one - a Gremlin (I can't even remember what year - and don't want to!). I now drive a 1999 Lexus that I bought new and am considering getting another one soon because it's been such a great car. I guess you can say - "I've come a long way, baby".

My first car was a 80-somethng Dodge Daytona. Currently drive a 1998 Honda Accord. Prior to getting the Accord I drove an Explorer which died. I really miss the Explorer b/c there isn't much room for bikes, strollers, etc. in the Accord.

I did it all bass ackwards. My first car I bought at 18 was an Infinity G20, used.
I now have the hand me down from the granparents (free). a 2000 Buick LeSabre. It only had 3000 miles on it though!

In high school I drove an old '67 Chevy Impala 2-door that I had to share with 3 sisters and, boy, did we fight over who got to drive!
Cheryl, I remember Gremlins! I thought they were soooo cool back then. Now I drive a dark blue Chevy Trailblazer and it seems so does half the population because I'm always passing that same vehicle on the road!

Right now I drive a 2000 Honda Accord. But hopefully when I go back to work in the fall I will be getting a new car. I have never had a car this long before.

My first car was a 81 VW Rabbit Convertiable that was in 1990.
Second car 88 VW GTI
Third car 93 Honda Civic Coupe(was rear ended and totaled)
Fourth car 95 Honda Civic
Fifth Car 98 VW Cabrio and got rid of that when I had my son in 2000 for the Accord.

My husband drives a 2005 Mazada 6 S. Which I really like.

A 1992 Honda Accord ($5000 in 2000). Some rust but I love my Honda. I use a portable DVD player that plugs in via the cassette deck and the cigarette lighter.

In this vehicle I tear about town as soccer mum, swimming mum, and everything else, and in Summer, stuffed to the gills with camping gear, it takes us faithfully out to Montana, Wyoming, Colorado and back for our hiking vacations.

I don't need navigation systems, DVD players (a really bad idea IMHO) or anything fancy-schamcy . Just give me music and/or books on CD and I'm happy, short ride or long.

Wish I could afford the hybrid version. Sigh.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one giving names to my cars!
After "Belch" (a BELair by CHevrolet), I didn't name the ford station wagon (we were together such a short time!), but my Shadow was Thelma (plain and simple, yet dependable) and my Prius is Madeleine (she speaks French, at least a little: I changed the setting so some of the displays are in French, but not all are...it's a bit odd).

Well, my Mountaineer is named "Blanche". It's white, so that sort of falls in line with "blanc" at least in MY thinking.:)

the first vehicle my parents got for me was a 70's something pinto wagon.......

Now I drive a 2005 Ford Escape....
hubby drives a 1999 F150

First car: 1976 Chevy Camaro, primer grey. It only had a straight six 250 in it so it didn't move very fast.

We currently own: family vehicle: 1995 Suburban white

I drive: 1985 K-5 Blazer, 6 " lift and 35" BF's

Husband drives: 1995 Chevy extended cab/long bed pick up

His toy is in the garage: 1990 camaro rs

Fun thread - loveed reading it - - Ok, I am an old lady

first car 1964 Comet used paid $100.00 for it in 1974.. It was turquoise blue and looked like it had been waxed and left in the sun to dry...missing a muffler also.

Now, I have a Limited Anniversary Edition 2004 Mach I Mustang, black with nip and tuck leather interior, high performance enginge - VERY fast and not good on the gas mileage but - gift from hubby -- always wanted one when I was 20 but could never afford one - now I am late 40's and it is really a fun car!

My first car was a hand me down from my mom....a 90 or 91 ford escort. I hated it.
Now I drive a 2004(i think)red dodge durango. It is the newer style of the durangos. It kinda reminds me of a fire truck. It is a great vehicle, but horrible with gas. I don't drive anywhere everyday or I would not have a gas guzzling suv. Dh had to trade in his truck last fall for a cavalier. He drives 2 hours a day mon-fri.

First car was a 1964 VW Beetle for which I paid $800.00 in 1968. My only new car was a 1975 VW Rabbit, which was a piece of crap! Now I have a '97 Buick Century which I bought from DebbieH's father-in-law, and it runs like a top!
