What vehicle do you drive?

My first car was a Mercury Montego passed down from my Dad. It was his FIRST brand new car and he died when it was just two years old at the tender age of 52. So sad....

I now drive a 2006 Lexus SUV. I love it. My last car was a Grand Cherokee and I'll never go back to a car.

My poor DH drives the minivan because I refuse. I know...not nice, but I didn't insist he drive it but it sure does come in handy driving kids back and forth to dorm rooms.:) :)

My first car was a 1976 Buick Skyhawk!

I currently drive a 1999 black Mazda Millenia. It has 137,000 miles on it, and looks practically brand new. I am on a mission to get at least 200,000 miles out of it. I've not had a minute's trouble with it yet! Love my car!

My first car was a Pontiac Grand Am that I inherited from my parents.

Currently, I drive either a 2004 Honda Civic or a 1998 VW Passat. I love both.

My first car was a crappy old Datsun that was perfect for parking in Newark every day. Now I am the very happy owner of a Metrocard, which takes me everywhere I want to go. :D :D :D

>I got a 1978 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme in puke green when I
>got my liscense in 1999. It was my grandparents car and they
>passed it down to my sister who then passed it down to moi.
>It was free and I was happy!:+
>
>I am currently driving a Hyundai Sonata.

I just re-read my post and am now LMAO! WOW! Look at how young I made myself...getting my liscense in 1999!? :7 :7 :7 That was supposed to be '89 folks!:p

My first car was a 1984 Oldsmobile Delta 88 that I got from my grandparents. I loved that car...it fit anything and everything I ever wanted (including a flute line of 9). "Debbie" (my car's name) was 18.5 feet long and was a boat, let's not forget a gas hog too. I could move myself to college and back with it. Then one day it went up in flames...:-( That was a very sad day in my life. I now drive a 2004 Saturn Ion 2 in electric blue. I love it...sporty but yet very roomie.

First car: 1971 VW Beetle High school graduation gift
Now: Summer: Saab 900 Turbo Convertible
Winter: 1997 Jeep Grand Cheroke

Wow bring back the memories.

My first car was a Chevy Monza (had to learn to drive a manual car otherwise I was sitting home). Actually over the years I think it is good to know how to drive both.

Now we have three vehicles (four if you count the one hubby is fixing up).

1992 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme with 220,600 miles on it and going strong - may not look the greatest due to rust (gee, living in MI will do that) but runs great (everyday vehicle).

1997 Chevy extend cab full bed truck (drive only when needed)

2003 Chevy Impala (not an everyday vehicle)

1950's (can remember what year) Ford Fairlane (fixer upper and will be a while before it is in shape to drive - parts are expensive).

This is our vehicles right now.

1st was a 1985 (in 1994) VW Golf in Silver...but then I slid into a telephone pole in the snow and had to have the hood and fender replaced in navy blue - my friends all knew it was me at least!

Current car is a '98 Ford Escort - not my first pick but I bought it new and it hasn't given me any problems *knock on wood*, and it gets great gas mileage.

So, I need to know... those of you who said you'd never drive a minivan - what changed your mind? I don't have kids yet but I've sworn to DH that a minivan is not something I'm interested in. Just curious b/c so many people say they never would but then do. How does a minivan differ from an SUV? I'll probably end up driving one, lol.

First car was a '79 Chevy Chevette, we called it the Chevy Sh**box, but it served me well for two years. I handed it down to my sister when I bought a completely re-done maroon Pontiac Sunbird which I owned for a grand total of six weeks. I got rear-ended coming home from school and, while I was fine, the car was totaled.

Now I drive a 2006 Ford Escape Hybrid (well, that's what I've been driving for past week - we just got it!). My hubby is a car nut and we can't go a whole year without him trying to sell or buy a car. We currently own five:

1999 Nissan Sentra (MIL drives this one)
2002 Dodge Dakota Truck (currently for sale, will be replaced with another truck, hopefully a cheap one)
2005 VW Passat (was mine, but DH drives it now)
2006 Ford Escape (I love it!!)
and my hubby's baby -
1966 Chevy Chevelle - cherry red and a convertable

This is neat considering I just bought a new car LAST NIGHT.

Next was -90 buick skylar named Slylar which we just traded in for zero dollars last night
Then 95 olds shilloutte mini van named the magic school bus which was my car but now is dh's.

My new car is 04 Pontiac Aztek named Joy. Love the new car.

Kathryn:

I learned to drive on a 1976 Honda Civic wagon that later blew a head gasket at 66,000 miles. Nothing like the new Civics.

My first car of my own was a 1988 Mazda 323 sedan. I loved that car. Awesome in snow. Trunk could hold a cow.

Current car is a 2005 Impreza WRX wagon. Really love this one.

For my first car my dad gave me a brand new white Dodge Charger in 1978 when I got my drivers license. My current car was a birthday surprise last year from my husband a brand new white BMW 335i! My dad and my 2nd husband really know how to spoil a girl:)

My first car was a 1986 Firebird, charcoal grey and silver.

Second car was a 1990 Nissan Stanza that I drove into the ground.

Now I drive a dark green 1999 Saturn SL1.

I currently drive a VW Bora (that's what the call the Jetta in the UK.) Before that (in the States) I drove a couple different SUV's - Jeep Grand Cherokees and a Chevy Blazer. My first car (which I kept for over 10 years!) was a 1980 Ford Mustang. Drove that thing until the wheels nearly fell off, LOL!

DH says that when we move back to the States he's going to get me an Audi A4 Cabriolet! :7
