Hi everyone,

I am interested to hear what people recommend for the following. I am looking for the best quality for the price.

Cleanser: (I use Cetaphil)

Moisturizer: (I use Purpose Dual moisturizer/sunscreen)

Eye Cream: (I am looking for a less expensive one, but I have been using Mac's Fast Response Eye Cream)

Lip Moisturizer: (I tried Mac's and Kiel's, but wasn't impressed)

Foundation: I just started using Mac's new SPF 15 liquid makeup

Mascara: (I use and like Definicils by Lancome. I also like Loreal's 3D)

any others you want to recommend.

Thanks,

Kathy

Kathy - good thread! I am also interested in what other people are using. I am looking for a good toner! One that leaves your face feeling fresh and clean!

Here's what I use...
Cleanser: Origins Never a dull moment
Scrubber: Origins Never a Dull Moment or Clinique 7 day scrub
Moisturizer: Origins Never a Dull Moment or BodyShop Illuminating Moisturizer
Eye Cream: Don't use.... probably should??
Lip Moisturizer: also don't use
Foundation: Origins Stay Tuned or Clinique SuperFit
Mascara: Lancome Intensile
Powder: Merle Norman Ultra Powder Foundation (works great as powder!)
Eye Shadow: Mac... love their colors!

As you can tell right now I am stuck on Origins! Love it!

I also got a gift set from my DH of Laura Mercier! OMG it is the absolute most scrumpious stuff but soooo expensive. He got it for free as they are his client at work. I got a sugar body scrub, body wash, lip glosses, body lotion. They also have a facial cleanser/toner/scrubber all in 1! So cool for travelling. They smell sooooooo good. I went to Nordstroms to check out the prices and about fainted. 1 bottle of body wash is $40+. I just said thanks and walked away! ouch! Maybe for xmas!????

I also just bought a trial size pack of Lancome products to try! HATE THEM! They smell like perfume! Who wants perfume on their face? I guess I am just so use to the Origins natural but nice smell. I am tempted to take it back. The pack was $30 and included small sizes of toner, wash and lotion. I'm bummed! ;(

Face: Oil of Olay Visible Results, wonderful, in 2 weeks my face feels softer, fabulus
Eye: Roc, also wonderful
Body- Nivea skin firming (I feel soft)

I really like Bare Ecentuals eye makeup, and marykay foundation

Kathy,
I like the thread!

I'm using the Avon Anew line. It seems like the day I turned 38 I started seeing little lines!

I use the Anew cream cleanser.

Anew retroactive eye serum at night and instant eye smoother under the eyes for day.

I use Avon ultimate and Retroactive cream at night, and during the day I use either Victoria Jackson gel moisturizer mixed with Revlon Skinlights (a tip Anna gave me! Thanks Anna!)or Avon advanced all-in-one.

For Foundation I'm currently using only MAC concealer under my eyes and on any problem areas, followed by the banana yellow Model's Prefer powder. I am so butt-white that I have a real problem finding foundation that doesn't look masky. If anyone has suggestions,
please tell me.

Mascara is L'Oreal Voluminous. Love that stuff!

Lips - plain old vaseline. I have bought the expensive stuff, and this is just the best for me!

I have a hair color recommendation that I found right here on our board. Robert Craig color is absolutely gorgeous. I think the website is www.iHaircolor.com

Hello
I started using Mary Kay about 5 years ago and I absolutely love it!! All the makeup feels so light and yeah-it's expensive but, it sure goes a long way!! I have been totally satisfied with Mary Kay products!! The eye liner or mascara does not run-it still looks fresh at the end of the day. The lip stick stays on for a long while too and it don't get on your front teeth. Good luck !!

Kathy,

Something that I didn't know about until about 3 years ago was Arbonne. I use their stuff for any cleansing/moisturizing. For foundation I use Revlon New Complexion Oil-Free. Mascara is Maybelline Full & Soft. The rest of my stuff is Mary Kay because my girls' godmother is a rep. I would encourage you to consider Arbonne. I wanted to like MK but I kept feeling like my face was dry after using it (no matter which cleanser I used). I tried Arbonne and voila! something that worked for me. The website is www.arbonne.com. It's not inexpensive, but then, neither is MK. This will sound dumb but I've been eyeing that infomercial stuff...bare minerals. Hmmm....anyone use this?

I too use Avons Renewal line. I love it and it really has made a noticable difference especially around the eye area. I use Avons Force Ultra at night.
My make up is always simple but that's Avon's as well! Since starting with Avon about 4 months ago my skin is more even, clearer, and firmer! Susan

That is so funny Dannielle! How what one woman hates the other one loves! Glad you like it. Maybe I should send you mine. I just think it smells so perfumey! x(

I also like Mary Kay but for some reason my eyes are allergic to it. I have tried it numerous times (as my sister-n-law sells it) and every time it makes my eyes water like crazy. Particularly the mascara and eyeliner bother it! hhhhmmmm......

Guess I am an Origins junkie right now. I just LOVE how their stuff smells. Plus, it has made such a noticable difference in my skin. I have REALLY dry skin and now thanks to them my skin is now more combination that it is dry! First time in my life I could ever say that!

Thanks for the responses. I had no idea MK and Avon was so popular. I think I might ask my reps to stop by or to do a party, so I can ry them.

Cleanser: Biore (toner); St. Ives apricot scrub

Moisterizer: St. Ives alpha & beta hydroxy (with apple extract -- I have sensitive skin with some dry areas and this products suits my needs well)

Foundation: Cornsilk (absorbs oil); Clean & Clear Blue Powder for shine control

Mascara: L'Oreal Voluminous

As far as cleansing and moisturizing goes, I use the age defying line by Oil of Olay. Makeup varies.........I use anything from Maybelline, Cover Girl, Loreal, to Revlon. I'm pickier about foundation (I like the age defying kind with a good SPF) than anything else. I use oil of olay age defying face wash, age defying moisturizer, and the eye gel and age defying night cream.

I am another Mary Kay user here, been using Mary kay for 7 yrs now, I really like their products too. ..... :7 Rhonda

>Cleanser: Ponds Age Defyiing facial cleanser wipes and a variety of other stuff I use once in a while (usually from QVC or HSN, the "age defying" stuff).

I also cleanse with a microdermabrasion kit I got from QVC. It's now being sold as a Susan Lucci product on informercials.

>Moisturizer: Day: Lamas Pro=vita C moisturizer with SPF 15, NIghts Lamas Pro vita C vital infusion complex. Great stuff I discovered a little while ago. A little goes a long way. And it's completely vegan, no animal products and no animal testing at any point in it's production.

>Eye Cream: two eye creams also from Lamas (one I use at night, one in a.m.)

>Lip Moisturizer: Seeral different ones: Burt's bees, Lamas Lip enhancer

>Foundation: I don't use one often, but when I do, I've been using Almay skin soothing foundation with Kinetin.

>Mascara: Don't use it because it ALWAYS smears on me.
