If I had to be completely honest, I would have to admit that shopping is my number one passion. I know it makes me sound like a dummy, but there it is. Shopping delivers some kind of emotional high that exceeds all other highs, although I don't understand why. I also enjoy reading, especially mysteries.
My other interests are my Siamese cats, my dogs, reading for sure, India and anything Indian from food and music to politics, fine art and antiques from Asia. Volunteering at our local SPCA is also important to me. I also like fashion and cooking--love reading cookbooks.
Cross stitching - like to make intricate, complex pieces, no kitties in baskets for me, reading, hugging my dog, cooking/food/wine/eating, video games - less recently - cross stitch has taken over, and I really like home decorating/designing - hoping to redo the bedroom soon.
I'm with you there (though reading is pretty much tied with movies)!
I also like gardening (though less that I used to, when I was in my "landscaping" phase, setting up my perrenials).
I've dropped a lot of hobbies I used to have (like knitting and crochetting), because I just don't have time for them anymore.
I will often pick up a new 'interest' (not necessarily a typical 'hobby') every so often, and read and watch pretty much any info I can get my hands on about it (I sometimes feel like that robot in that old Ally Sheedy movie, when he becomes sentient and goes around looking for "Input! Input! INPUT!" ). A recent one was developing my own web site (which I did all by myself, except for some tech help setting up the posting, and which I quite like).
Like Nancy, I love shopping--didn't discover it until about 6 years ago. Also, I'm another one who's a big fan of reading, particularly fiction (and almost anything). And of course anyone who knows me knows I love the internet and making my own little homes on it--blogs, websites, forums, whatever. Maybe someday I'll go back to college and study web design this time around (last time it was English).
