What is your fav Low impact workout?

What is your favorite Low impact Cathe workout? Im debating whether or not to get Low IMpact circuit because its on sale. Or is there another one you would recommend? Thanks!

Low Max is also another great high intensity low impact workout although it's only cardio.

I have both Low Max and LIC. Both are great. I would have to say that being that LIC is on sale, get it. It is a great workout with some good premixes. You cannot go wrong. I do it at least twice a week. It is my favorite low impact workout. The music is great too!

I love, love, love LIC. I mostly do the cardio only premix. Like the OP said, I love the music in this one. I like Low Max too, but I like LIC better.

Low Impact Circuit. My favorite non-Cathe low impact workout is Anni Mairs' Cardio Force (done with 1 lb weighted gloves instead of 1 lb dumbells)

I love both LIC and Low Max. I agree, since LIC is on sale, I would get it. I have never regretted buying any Cathe workout though - just to let you know where this advice is coming from.

low impact to higher?

glad I put those on the X-mas list, I put the Timesaver one on too, more as an intro to some more advanced routines, because i really want to work up to that someday...it's not like I'll be doing Imax 2 anytime soon...but I'm inspired watching that on TV.

Are the high step workouts a way to build that kind of strength? or would a more focused lower body workout (butts & guts?) be a better "step up"?

planning for LIC & LM in January '10 :)

I only have High Step Challenge and the choreography is pretty basic and the cardio segments are short. If you're trying to work on choreography, it would be better to go ahead and buy and do the step workouts, taking out the impact as you need to. Low Max definitely has more complex choreography than LIC.

B&G is a great workout and would be a great addition.

up until today...

I thought I was getting the steps pretty good, haha, had a little left/right thing when exiting and did that combo this morning again, and again... when I started doing Cathe vids in Oct. I kinda started doing them the way she does, left for left, right for right, and not mirrored, the way she cues, but, well I never did a exercise class where this could be kinda problematic, I just figured at some point I'd go back to the beginning & do them the mirrored way, okay it's weird!

It was just easier for me to learn that way;) I really need to build everything, cardiovascular endurance, strength, especially leg strength, and so far I've improved in all areas, I pretty much did start at 0. I was I guess wondering how other people might have worked up from beginner, like really nothing to those advanced work outs, I'm on the slow & steady route, I think:rolleyes:

Linda2, if you are looking for easier workouts to build up your endurance and strength, you might want to look at Low Impact Step, which is a little more basic and not as tough as her other workouts.

I don't necessarily recommend Timesaver, since it's really just excerpts from the Step Blast/ Step, Jump & Pump DVD. If you got that DVD, you get 90% of what's on Timesaver. Be warned that Step Blast has some tricky choreography.

My new fav. LI step workout is 4 day split step low intensity. But I hate the music during the warm up, but after that it gets better. (Unless you like ray-gay type of music). Music is big for me, I can love a workout but hate the music and I wont do it as often.
I also really like 4 day split's kickbox, and Low Max.

hey jbliff

Jbliff, thanks for info I'm currently 3/4 of the way through Cathe's official beginner rotation, I started with basic & body fusion, and now low impact step
with total body sculpting, I use stretchmax 1 from TV for stretching days or yoga (various) so far it's been excellent, I was looking at doing something like these rotations using Lowmax & LIC in January? Thoughts?

thanks Linda:)

Linda, LIC would be a great addition. It's a long workout, so you can use the shorter premixes until you build up your endurance to do the whole thing. The choreography is simpler in LIC, there is strength work included in the workout, and the music rocks!! You may also want to look at some kickboxing videos-- the KPC/Legs & Glutes DVD is excellent and has a ton of premixes so you can make your workout short/long and harder/easier depending on how you feel. I like Low Max, but like I said, the choreography is a bit tricky and the premixes are not as useful as LIC and KPC. Hope that helps!

:) yea, that helps, a lot, I'm thinking that I might really like the kickbox and I did modify things already while learning, to both lengthen or shorten as needed, thanks for the tip on the tricky footwork too, I'll break those parts up, or save for later date, when I need more challenge, I just can't believe how effective this stuff is, but it so is, thanks for help! :)
