What is up with all these high heels?

Ditto what Shelley said. I also and not a fan of wearing flip flops all over town--very painful as well.

Carolyn B - I'm with you on this one. The highest heels I own are 2" and chunky. I love my Skechers!!

I can't wear heels, but I can't wear ballet flats or flip flops either. I need those clunky, supportive grandma shoes. :(

I despise--repeat DESPISE--high heels. I can barely move in them now, I'm so used to flats. I have a pair of clunky black shoes that I wear to work almost every day  and that's about as "high heelish" as I get. High heels have absolutely destroyed my knees. If I wear them now I can't run or step for days. :(

I used to wear heels every day and then I moved to Boston where I had to walk everywhere and just couldn't wear heels when I had to walk a mile to the T, then stand on the subway for 30 minutes during rush hour, then walk another mile from the subway to work (to park at the office downtown would have been about $50 a day so that was NOT an option). Ever since I moved back to CT I haven't been able to wear heels anymore. I'm just too used to flats. I'm all about comfort now. :)

Oh, and something totally weird about me (among many other things :p:eek:;)) is that wearing high heels makes me sweat! Honestly, it's such work for me that I end up sweating so bad and start to dread having to get up from my desk. I don't want walking around the office to be painful and sweat-inducing. I'm constantly up down, up down all day long from my desk and flats just make it MUCH easier (and comfortable!) to get around.

ETA: If I could, I would LIVE in flip flops, slippers and ballet flats. :) Damn office dress code. ;)

I love the way they look, hate the way they feel. I'm short too & I def. prefer the height they give, but boy my dogs are howling by the end of the day if I go above 2.5".

I also prefer pointy toes--I feel like they make my uber short legs look longer. Stacey & Clinton say so, so it must be true.

I have found a couple of brands that don't induce agony, but I pay the price for them.

Thanks to Miss Lee "supportive grandma shoes" have become HAWT! (as in sexy, not as in causing one to sweat.....LOL!!!)

Me, too!

Last time I wore heels was when I was job hunting, and I ditched them after the first few interviews.

The highest heels I have are 1 1/2 inches, and I rarely wear those.

I'm all about wearing shoes that are shaped like feet! (Tevas, Earth Shoes, Birkenstocks, Crocs) and that actually might be good for the feet (and knees, and hips).

Call me the 'anti-fashionista'!

I think flip flops and ballet flats (with no support) are bad for the feet as well. I never wear flip flops (also because I think they are ugly, and students wear them all the time--even in winter!)

I, too, love heels - especially, like Shelley, boots with heels and long jeans. Love the thicker heel, too - more comfortable.

I'm 5'9" without heels so I tower over everyone as it is. Putting on an extra 3 inches makes me self conscious. I like wearing heals but not that high and not that thin. Sometimes I wish I could, I find them quite stylish and sexy.

Balance...how does one maintain balance on such high heals? I've tried wearing them but I've tipped over a number of times. I can't even wear shorter heels that are that thin. Down I go.
