What do you think of High Step Circuit for Beginners?

I'm fairly new to Cathe's workouts, but I'm an intermediate level. I started with Basic Step + Body Fusion and really enjoy it the Body Fusion, but find Basic Step and the add-on strength workouts a little to "beginner" for me- and I'm using heavier weights!.

I'm wondering if I would have the same experience with HSC...or if there's enough "umpfh" to make it worth my while (and dollars!) as an intermediate. I love circuit workouts and I have a high step (well, it's a FannyLifter- lol).

I'm also wondering if this w/o would be a good bridge to Cathe's more advanced workouts- including other High Step circuits. I'm trying to be wise and ease into the harder workouts slowly and enjoy the process of gaining strength and endurance. ;)

Thanks for your insights and opinions!

I think High Step Challenge from Hard Core, and High Step (Advanced) Training released in 2004 would be excellent "bridges" to Cathe's even more advanced workouts. Get both so that you can alternate them. HST has a few more premixes (I think) than HSC, including a good cardio-only and a cardio+legs premix that I think you'll enjoy.

Opps! I think I used the wrong abbrevation! *blush* Newbie-ness is shining bright again, today! lol

I am asking for opinions about High Step Circuit for Beginners- NOT High Step Challenge or High Step Advanced. Sorry about the confusion!!

Thanks,
Connie

Hi Connie,

High Step Circuit is definitely "intermediate", compared to Basic Step. If you are still comfortably challenged by Body Fusion, then you will be comfortably challenged by HSCircuit. I really like HSCircuit (I go heavier than Cathe with the weights).

Cheers,
Sandra

(((Sandra!!))) Thank you so much for responding!! This is just the kind of insight I was hoping to get! :)

I think this just might be my next Cathe purchase.....:p

I think high step circuit would be great for you,it is one of those workout that can be modified easier or harder so it can help you grow, once you get comfortable with that one you could move on to Cardio and Weights this is harder but not as hard as her other circuit workouts i really think that this one would be a great bridge to the tougher stuff, and its alot of fun ! I don't feel like High Step Circuit is a beginners workout.
When I was getting used to Cathe I used it, now it is too easy but I do think it is too hard for beginners.

RE: What do you think of High Step Circuit for Beginner...

Hey Connie, I am an advanced excerciser but back in Feb when I discoverd Cathe's website and was able to order dvd's I wasn't sure what to get so I bought it even though it said beg/int. It was the first time I had ever excercised at home and I was limited on equipment. Its not a tough workout (compared to the rest) but I do actually use it a lot. I just up the weights. I am short on time and work long hours a lot and some days when you are just worn out the thought of doing a bootcamp-like tough a@@ workout discourages me. I reach for this and I know I've worked out but not worn myself out. As you get better at it and stronger use heavier weight and just jumper higher/harder on the high step. I say get it.

Thank you SO much!! You must be a mind reader! :p I was hoping that this workout could be a bridge to C&W! I've done Fit TV's version of C&W and like it, but the cardio- albeit shorter- is a bit too complex for me right now.

Thanks alot, Mresscififanec! :)

Thank you Skye! It's wonderful to know how versatile this workout is-even to an advanced exerciser like yourself. You've helped me make my decision- I'm getting it!! :)

Thanks again,
Connie :D
