what are you using to do (disk 2) to do chinups/pullups?

I have a roman chair with a high bar that is for chin ups but that is waaaaay down the road for me. Best I can do is sort of hang from it. From the disk I could not see how the tubing was being used, and the tubing I have is too wimpy. I looped it over a stationary object but there was no resistance .

I have a small home gym ( DH uses it). what exercise could I do on it that would work the same thing? I did lat pulldowns with 60 lbs but didn't feel like they worked the same area. suggestions?

I started with tubing. I have the Beachbody b-line bands and I was using the next to the heaviest but it just wasn't cutting it. I'm using my Fluidity Bar now. Major difference!

I started off with tubing but since I have a squat rack I use the straight bar and move the bench out of the way but you can do something like dumbell pull overs.

I found the perfect way to use my high bar.... get DH to lift my knees a little from below! I was able to do these with a little help. that won't work when I'm alone... the usual when working out.

I found lots of links to people talking about pull ups/chinups but only one video clip that showed anything with a band assist. It was still not clear what the guy was doing. It looked like he was standing onm the band or something? excuse my ignorance... I'm new to some of this.

this site showed what looks like the tubing on disk 2. Does this provide enough resistance to help work toward 'real" pull ups?

I use a bar in the doorway and a light & medium pull up band. I used a chair when I did P90X but found I cheated too much with it. Now I just do as many unassisted as I can then use my bands to get in a few more.

Ahhh! NOW I see how it works. I'm short, my bar is very high, the chair method would be risky. If I slipped I could be down for the count on concrete. the bands, any of them, will be the answer. the doorway bar looks OK too, but I'd rather use the high bar I already have. Thanks!

I just have the red tubing that I put in the doorway. I have to say I'm such a goof. I used it the wrong way at first since it didn't come with picture directions and I had it in the corner of the door where the hinge is and I couldn't get a good pull down. Then I figured it out.
On disk 21 I didn't double check the door and the thing flew off and hit me in the knuckle of my right hand at the speed of light when doing a pull down. I have a weird bruise on my knuckle. Our house was built in 1912 and the doorways tend to buckle.
Be careful and make sure the door is shut tightly before you pull.
I love the other ideas you gals have shown. I need pictures or I don't get it. LOL.

I am only 5' tall and I still need a chair to put my foot in the loop of the band. I just put the chair off to the side so it is not in my way when I do the pull ups using the band.

I was off on vacation for a week so nothing happened but this morning I ordered a band assist. got it from the link Fit fairy posted. should be here this week! so back to work. thanks for all of your help. I knew I couldn't be the only one confused by this.
