What are you reading now?

I just had to post again under this thread instead of starting a new one.
I finished "A Moveable Feast" by Hemingway today-in about 6 hours, I got stuck at the airport. It was so good I could not put it down, seriously.
I am so excited about this, in high school we were not required to read any of these books or in college actually. I have always wanted to read some of Hemingway and Fitzgerald's books, but was always sort of intimidated or something.
Anyway, this book made me fall in love. :) He tells the story of his friendship with Scott Fitzgerald and Ezra Pound (I still do not get his poems I am sorry to report) and I felt so transported to the streets of Paris, the cafe's and loved the way he described all the food and wine he enjoyed...

So, Pippa, I think I will order the rest of his work, plus I just ordered a bunch of Fitzgeralds too.

Thank you for letting me go on about this. It just feels so good when a book "fills you up" and leaves you wanting more.:7

I love Fitzgerald and Hemingway, though I actually haven't read A Moveable Feast. After your description I want to read it now, though! One of my favorite courses in college was Classic American Novels of the 20th Century (which included several great novelists from the first half of the 20th century). I even liked Faulkner, though he's like the antithesis of Hemingway. Maybe I should dig out a Faulkner to read as well, for contrast.

Okay Lanie, now I have to read something by Faulkner as well. Thanks for your response!:7

I just finished a book that really touched me -- Letter From Point Clear (by Dennis McFarland).

And I love anything by Jodi Picoult!

I am currently reading Fingersmith by Sarah Waters. I actually came across the title in a post similar to this one from about two months ago. Anyway, it's totally different from anything I'd read before, but it's great so far!

I can't think of one single favorite, but my top picks have already been mentioned above.
