We're In This Together ~~MAY~~

Good morning :)

Yesterday's w/o was AT cardio step only (30min) + plyo exercises only from Plyo Legs disc 26 (15min). I LOVE PLYO LEGS!

Today workout will be D6 (legs).

Sarah
I guess your body is used to STS now. Good idea about changing it up. Here are two links:

I did this rotation
http://cathe.com/forum/f100/dec-10-rotation-279800/

And here is the one with Gym Style & Pyramid
http://cathe.com/forum/f100/april-09-rotation-261251/

How was 4DS high/low step? My mind gets totally fried with that one too. It really is super fun once you get moves down. And the music rocks!

Colleen
Have a good day out of town.
It's true, once you stop doing hiit or interval workouts, your cardio endurance is decreased. My fav is 30/30. NO REPETITION!

Have a great day everyone :)

Well I'm sitting on the sofa and 4DS Split High portion is still playing. The 3rd combo right before the hitch kick did me in. The rest wasn't pretty, and there was plenty of rewinding. I can see where if I really knew this and went full out it would be so fun. Because I had fun anyway. My legs are super tired too because I walked 3 miles yesterday too.

I will do either one of those rotations Nat, but now I can't download the rotations. There is an error message that keeps coming up when I try and download the roation thats says "active x may be disabled." So I will wait till tomorrow and hopefully it will be working.

Nat your legs must be tired too, I was just reading about the Plyo's yesterday and leg workout today.

Next stop, loading the dishwasher and trench digging.

Sarah

Disc 6 (legs) is INSANE! I'm a Weeble Wobble right now. No toilet for a few days  ;).

Question for you guys, for the squats, didn't you find it uncomfortable holding 20+ dumbells in your hands? The higher the weight, the more my forearms want to give out. I would much rather use my barbell. Did any of you do this?

It's PMS time for me and I'm starting to feel crappy not to mention my craving for chocolate is creeping up. I find adding a little dark chocolate in my oatmeal or cream of wheat usually does the trick ;).

Sarah
OMG the damn combo with the hitch kick! Why did Cathe do that on the outside of her step? I can't see a damn thing!! I'm about 85% there, and yes it is super fun. I found that choreo to be the most challenging so far, even harder than Step Moves, which is not really that complicated IMO.
Hope your trench digging is going well. OMG you are super cool for doing that! With all that outside work and doing rotations, you are gonna be one super fit hottie ;).

Have a good night everyone :)

Nat - Yes I use my barbell for the squats rather than the dumbell. I feel like I can go deeper with the barbell. Also my dumbells are super old, so the plates that are on the ends are the same plates for a barbell so they are fat and get in the way often.

I wonder if that is my problem too, I have a hankering for sweets!

Sarah

Hello Friends.
Longtime no see.
Giving myself time away from here and FB. No job yet. Expecting a few more rejections in the next couple of days.
No interviews for DFW or here either
But I have peace again and waiting for His direction.
Plan to do disc 6 on Friday and maybe cardio tonight. No plyo legs yet. To me, 4DS choreography is easier than Step Moves even more laid back. Step Blast has some complex stuff but during the actual blast you do the combos three times.
Have a great day!

Good morning ladies :)

CSOTT DOMS is hittin' hard today oh boy! My entire LB is really achy.
Rest day for me today. Bella and I are going to enjoy the beautiful weather with a nice walk to the park and then to my local Tim Horton's for an Ice Capp :p.

Jen
Nice to have you back :).
I'm curious, in your internship, did they spend anytime on training for job interviews? I know this might seem silly, but I tend to get nervous in interviews although inside I'm confident. Something about getting put on the spot like that does not sit well with me. Is there something you can do to perhaps improve your interview performances? Are you dressing appropriately? What about make-up/hair? Do you exude a friendly demeanor, smile often and respond clearly and confidently? First impressions (unfortunately) are everything. You can be the most qualified person for the job, and yet that first interview will make/break you. So many helpful tips/articles on the internet.
Don't get discouraged please.

BBL! Have a great day everyone :)

Whoo hoo for DOMS Natty! Good thing your resting today! I just finished Kettlebell Kickboxing which is a new set I just got. If you guys think I'm a good enabler you should probably stay off of VF! I swear, that site is terrible for enabling! I click on a thread and I'm like Ooooh, I MUST have that! I'm glad I caved on this one though, it was a great workout in 35 minutes with fun moves. There are 4 discs in the set altogether. The instructor talks non-stop though, but it didn't bother me once I got into the workout.

Whoops, it's getting late...I have to get in the shower! I'll BBL to write more!

Hello Friends.
Natty-You bring up some interesting questions. During my program, the mock interview didn't turn out on how it was intended. My internship interviews went well thus getting them both, although one turned out bad. My interviews lacked confidence and selling myself, which I have worked on. Dressing appropriately, I wear a skirt to most of them. Yes, I do my make up and hair professionally. There are so many tips on the internet and many of them conflict as well. Yesterday at my government testing, the two that were picked were the "best looking" in the room. Some questioned if they even passed the second test. The other people in the group all were former tellers just like me.
Yes, I feel I am personable. The job interview, I am waiting to hear about, I feel I am UP there on this one. Some of the questions they asked would not pertain to the job since I would "fill in" for management on a operational scale and not decisive. Plus, I have knowledge of the software they are converting to. The person from TX here gave me good feedback on my resume. I appreciated it cause she looked at it objectively. My parents and I talk all the time about jobs/interviewing etc.. Texas is in demand of people while MI, although some industries are in demand, there are not enough jobs.
Today, I will be speaking to a potential property manager to take care of my property if I move to DFW. Texas is looking better for a job daily.
My Dad is supposed to have testing today. He is not feeling better. I think he is done with the job. Carpeting got canceled so my parents may have to move for a week but don't know where to put their stuff.
Lots of stuff going on in my family.

Today, pay bills, job hunt and workout. Trying to stay off the electronics even my phone to not get distracted on my goals. Many things I do it is easier to do on a desktop whether than a droid.

Hope you all have a blessed day.

Colleen - I too have 1 tablespoon of Coffemate with my coffee. I even measure it, just so I don't end up having coffee with my creamer ; ) I have the hazeknut one and I can go without and sometimes do but it is my indulgence of artificial crap for the day.

I drank the KoolAid Nat. I ran out of bananas and pumpkin for my oatmeal. So I took a page from your book. I put milk, cinnamon, dutched process cocoa, coconut oil, vanilla, and 1 packet of splenda in my my oatmeal. It cooked up someplace inbetween hot cocoa and pudding. I garnished with a few bittersweet chocolate chips and some toasted almonds. It felt like I was cheating. It was oh so good.

Jen - Glad to have you back. I agree about the barrage of info on the internet that is contradictory. It's a great tool but can be so confusing and it takes forever reading all the info out there, it's a full job job in itself.

My husband suprised me and bought me a pair of vibram shoes. They are super cute but will take getting used to.

Today is chest, tri, and bi disc 10 with a cardio shot.

Sarah

Some updates. Took a test for Geico for a position in Dallas. Plus spoke to a potential property manager of my home. He guesstimated my home could rent for 850-1000 when 800 was my thought. He told me a story of a married couple whom he is friends with both lost jobs here and went down there with no job offer and both got decent jobs within one week. No word yet from my Friday interview. If I do not get called back, I will put more energy into DFW.

Going to investigate if I can get MI unemployment in TX. If yes I will consider moving earlier. Plan to rent out my house

Sarah I think I need to start doing like you do and measure my coffee mate. I'm having a hard time breaking the habit of using it and at least if I measured 1 tblsp I'd know the exact calories I'm taking in with it. I try to drink my coffee black but my husband and I are both in the habit of making our coffee so strong it's almost unbearable to drink it black. Every time I try to make the coffee a little weaker we're both like "bleh"...need more caffeine!! I'm so addicted to my morning coffee it's ridiculous:eek:. You'll have to let me know what you think of the Vibrams! I always want to be totally barefoot but Mark is thinking about joining our local gym and he wants me to go with to help motivate him. He hates the thought of going by himself. Hence, I'd have to wear SHOES:(! Blech!

Jen- I think it sounds like DFW is calling you. It's so hard to stick around an area when the local economy is suffering. It stinks but that's an unfortunate reality sometimes. I notice around here when the economy dips a sort of malaise sets in regarding spending money and hiring. Even though some places could totally afford to hire and even though there are people with money who could certainly spend, people still hold back and are overly cautious and pessimistic. It's really frustrating. Then of course there is the reality that places like Michigan are struggling with too. Even though you aren't in the automotive or housing industries those two things have really hit your area hard and everything else is interconnected and interdependant. Hopefully though something will turn up for you soon, especially if your heart is in Michigan!

Natty all these rotations you post totally makes me want to do one! After I'm done with my little alternating weeks thing I may have to take a few months and tackle some of these rotations. :D

May 15 Cathe starts filming the two new workouts!!! Whoo hoo! I can't wait!

Good news: My prelim investigations have shown I can collect UIA in MI out of State. There is no requirement to stay in MI to receive benes. Also, stong possibility I can rent out my home. I asked GOD for direction and HE gave it. UIA info. will be re-checked. Yes, DFW is calling.

As crazy as this may sound, I verified that an IKEA is in DFW. Out of curiosity. I had to know. Only one but three in Texas
A friend asked me if that would be a deal breaker if the store wasn't there. Nope. I would be bummed.

Good morning,

I think I might be getting sick :(. After not sleeping last night, woke up to a slight fever. Hope it ends quick. Fevers are probably one of the only things that brings me down bad, that and no sleep. No workout for me today :(. Oh and to put it over the top, it's TTOTM. Go big or go home right?

Jen
I'm so happy you got an interview already at DFW. Funny about the Ikea, I would be totally depressed if there wasn't one near where I lived.
It's great you can continue to receive benefits while in Texas. It's like that here too. The only time it terminate is if you take a vacation and actually leave Canada. No one takes vacations in Canada, who are they kidding? We all go to Cuba lol .
Fingers are crossed for you! I have a feeling you're gonna get this one.
Colleen
There are so many great rotations. The trick is to find the one that actually interests you and is doable, so you can stick with it. I would never be able to double up on days like adding cardio after a weight session, so I don't pick those ones. There are lots of circuit style rotations too (I know you are a fan ;) ).
Sarah
Your oatmeal sounded lovely. I love eating healthy stuff that tastes like a decadent dessert. Did you know a small s'mores only has 125cal? I have a sweet tooth and need to find a way to satisfy it with balance/portion control :p.

I had planned laundry today and have to go through with it. No rest for the wicked.

Have a good day all :)

Happy Friday, Friends!!

Job interview for Dallas in just over 2 hours. 10 minute phone call prelim. I applied and I got an interview on the same day. Still plan to do a lot to get ready to move. In MI, you can take vacations while on benefits but can't be receiving severance or working.
Yes, very happy about IKEA since I am giving up most of my furniture before I move.
Hope to do disc 6 tonight. Fugitive from Mississippi was spotted near my home last night and hasn't been caught. Went out for a walk last night since he may have heard the media and the police are watching a place where he was at. Yes, I did see his car earlier this week. Not sure if they are trying to track him with the GPS on his phone.

Natty-Hope you feel better. There is stuff going around. Take it easy, I know you've been pushing yourself with STS with legs and plyo legs in the same week.
Colleen-Never have done one of Cathe's rotations. I would have to print it out, etc.
There are some good ones.
Sarah-Hope you have a great day.

Great phone interview. They would like me to be down for the next phase. I plan to seek out other jobs as well. Hoping to be moved just after the Memorial Day weekend.

Awesome on the good phone interview Jen! I have a really good feeling this is going to pan out for you...just my instinct. Holy scariness on the fugitive from Mississippi, though. Yikes! Be careful out there! Crime really freaks me out. My mom raised us to be super paranoid, even though we lived out in the middle of nowhere:eek:. Crime has gotten worse in our area unfortunately. Alot of drug dealers have apparently moved into the area from Chicago because there was such a "great" market for drugs around here. Alot of prescription drug addicts are transitioning to heroin and other scary stuff. Several armed robberies and home invasions have occurred in the last 6 months and also 2 homicides. Chilling.:(

I hope you feel better soon Natty! Get lots of rest. TTOTM and coming down with something at the same time...talk about hit by a truck:confused:. Naps are required in that case! ;) I know what you mean about no rest for the wicked! When I'm sick the housework just doesn't stop. Mark tries somewhat but he isn't exactly Mr. Fantastic when I get sick. He almost seems to resent it when I'm not up to full capacity:mad:. To his credit, though, he tries not to show it and act like too much of a jerk...and yet only the bare minimum of housework will get done if I'm sick:rolleyes:.

Oh yeah, my workout! :p I did Afterburn today. LOVE it! Tomorrow will be rest for me, I think.

I feel very excited for you Jen about this interview and move. Good luck. Holly canoli, after Memorial day isn't that long to get moved and everything that goes along with that. I hate the work around moving. The cleaning the old house, cleaning the new house it's just to much cleaning.

I hope you feel better Nat. I also hope once your better the rest of your family doesn't get it also.

The measuring of the coffeemate has really helped, I think I probably went from 1/4 - 1/3 cup to just 1 tablespoon. I will let you know about the Vibrams. Can't decide if I want to wear them for tomorrows 5K with my daughters for Girls on the Run.

Yesterday I was suppose to do Chest, shoulders, and STS disc 10. But when I got home from running errands and getting bite by a dog (lovely, you can read about it on the dog bite open discussion thread), I just wasn't in the mood. So I felt like kicking a**, and did Cyclemax. Loved it, I was sweaty-er than I have ever been before. Plus 20 ft on the ditch.

Today I have already taken the dog on a 3 mile walk, and will fit in yesterdays STS disc and 20 feet more of the stupid trench. I only have 40ft left. : )

Have a great day everyone
