We're In This Together **JUNE**

Holy Moley.

That was my first time doing 40/20 with the cardio club step. My old Reebok step was shorter and the tallest it went was 10 inches. Being so wide, I banged my ankles, especially my left one, on the wide straddle tap down. Then when she put the extra risers on I went ahead and did like she did...the full 12 inches. Let's just say I understand your dread of this one now Natty!;) Lordy. I even modified the jump forward, turn and tuck on the rebounder (jump, jump jump, tuck) and for the side to side where she hops over the 4 inch platform I just did that without anything under me. I was just too tired!

Oh, and I've never done the box jumps with anything over 10 inches. How the heck does she do those so rapidly? I was behind the count the whole time!

Time to shower!

Good morning fit gals!

I'm off to my aunts house so Bella can play in the kiddie pool & sprinkler. It's a scorcher out there .

Today's w/o will be short and sweet, so probably a hiit or Tabata Inferno . I need to prepare my body/mind for Cathe's Tabata .

Colleen
Awww shucks, thanks for the compliment . To be honest though, I'm not going all out hiit style for 70min. That particular workout is Low Max/Imax 3/Kick Max, alternating. You get the "break" with the step combos. It's nothing like CCC or 40/20. At 60min, I start to slow down, so I'm no rock star here. By the last Kick Max blast, I'm spent. It's hard but totally doable. If you can do CCC, you can do that one.
Since you love short, intense cardio sessions, Cathe's newest will be your god-sent. Isn't Breathless Body like Tabata? SO you know what treat you're in for. The one thing I have a hard time believing is Cathe "claiming" no dread factor. Personally, I find all hiit's/Tabata/intense cardio to have dread. Oh, but that beautiful Runner's High you feel during/afterwards, ensures I keep coming back for more. And all that sweat dripping like you just took a shower. Nothing feels quite like it :D.

Gotta jet guys! Talk later :)

**Colleen, I just saw your 40/20 post. We were writing at the same time. Yup, that one just destroys me. I do the entire thing with the same step heights as Cathe. I'm good til' she gets to the butt kicks and then I have to slow down. The box jumps, I mastered on a 12inch, but I really pushed hard to get there. The jump over the step just scares me though. I use a band and call it a day. The full, cardio club step gives that workout a truly different feel I'm sure. Don't get discouraged! It's one to really work up to with little/no modifications. When I claim "dread", you know it's for a reason**

To much stuff going on right now. Between rottotilling, fathers day, making a cake for my father-in-law (I always make a cake as his gift), and getting ready for garage sale. I'm sorry to leave you guys hanging.

I took Friday off except for a 3 mile walk with my daughters. Sat was Cyclemax, and took Sunday off too.

Ate too much on Sat. and Sun ; ( Anytime my schedule gets messed up my eating suffers.

Yesterday I made pound cake for strawberry shortcake. I do love strawberry shortcake and that should be enough to last me the year.
We took my husband to Fort Vancouver as a suprise (he has always wanted to go there). Our kids love history and so does Tristan so they could have fun with it. I had a pizza delivered to the Fort as a suprise picnic lunch (pizza is my husband's fav). Came home and had a family dinner with my parents, my brother and his girlfriend (bbq chicken kabobs, ribs, grilled rosemary garlic potatoes, potatoe salad, fruit salad, and green beans.)

Nat - I hope you and Bella cane cool off. It raining here today. So much for getting the garden planted.

Holy Canoli Colleen- Way to go. I only have just the 8" step so I've only ever done it modified. That might just be fine by me ; )

Jen - I love chili - I actually had delicious white chicken chili for lunch on Friday it was really delish. How come you did High Reps? Well I hope you recover. I imagine your wrking on your intership this week. Hope it goes good.

Sarah

Oh yeah, Sarah, I was totally humbled by 40/20 today with the cardio club step:eek:. I may just go back to the 10 inches for the running man and box jumps. It felt a little weird with my short little legs, not to mention how much harder it was! LOL I did like 12 inches for the butt kicks though. I just have to remember how much wider the club step is for those wide straddle lunges. I seem to remember, maybe it was in AS, where there was a move like that and I had to remember to stretch those legs out farther to avoid banging my ankles!

Natty- I hope Bella's having fun splashing around in the sprinkler!:D

Hello Friends.
Ellie-Great to hear from you. Yes, you need your Cathe time.
Sarah-Love me some white chicken chili. My brain lasped, I didn't think HR all the way through. I should've done some step workout.
Colleen-Congrats on doing 40/20. I always use a lower step height than she does.
Natty-Running thru the sprinkler sounds like fun. Another scorcher today.

My internship is going well. My friend and I hit some bumps in the road but work through them. It is more administrative than marketing. She has finally opened up about stuff I already knew. She lost her drivers license to open bottle in her car a few years back. She does have a problem which has moved from the hard stuff to wine except for one week ago Friday. Last night, I asked her to show me what she bought that was in the brown bag. So, she did.
Sunday, I shared Cathe with my brother's girlfriend. She does Insanity. We talked about p90X, my brother was stunned I am doing STS. Happy Stunned.
My workout will be STS after a two day break. Tabata freaks me out, I'm looking forward to the preview night.

Peace out and stay cool.

Good morning ladies :)

Yesterday's sprinkler/kiddie pool day went well. Bella broke my heart when she said she wished we "had a backyard so we could get a sprinkler" :(. I don't think she remembers last year, but we had/did all that in our backyard with the house we owned before we sold it. I have no regrets about selling that house though. The appreciation was insanely high since this area is becoming the new "hot spot" for people to move to. The only thing I regret was making the executive decision to buy the home with my mother, which turned out horribly wrong. Let's just say you don't really know someone until you live with them. That house was "toxic" for my little girl, and in the end I gave it all up so we could be happy. A house is just walls. It's the inside family dynamic that makes a house a home.

Speaking of mistakes and learning from them, why do I keep doing Tabata Inferno past 6pm?? Clearly, I'm not thinking wise in that department. In my mind, it's only 30min of cardio brutality. What's 30min right? HA HA wrong. Talk about humbling workouts. I always feel like I have to throw-up after it . Ugghh, not cool.

Jen
I'm glad to hear your internship is going well. It's great your friend has such a positive person in her life (you that is!).
It's nice you can share your passion about home fitness with your brother's g/f.
Tabata should freak you out . Just kiddin' :D. I would recommend you take a longer break than 10sec or shorten the work load. It's SO tough. Oh and eating appropriately beforehand will help.
Sarah
Your w/e sounded very lovely. Your food always sounds incredible, so let's just stop right there before I get hungry :p.
Colleen
No matter which way you slice it, 40/20 is probably one of the hardest cardio w/o's EVER! The fact that you did the whole thing (and even pressed play!) deserves a round of applause.
BTW, I went to look at the HC workouts on their website. OMG, it looks like TBL Weight Loss Yoga! Very similar moves! I saw the clips and my mouth dropped! No wonder those workouts are so friggin' tough! Your core is gonna be rock solid.

Have a wonderful day ladies :)

Today was Cyclemax, again. I hope Cathe does a new Cycle DVD. It's pouring again today and even a little cold. : ( I think we may get jipped on having a summer again. We havent had a good one for about 3-4 years.

Jen - I'm totally impressed that you had the guts to bring up the drinking thing. I need a little on that gumption sent over this way.

Colleen - I have slotted for 40/20 tomorrow. Will see how much it kicks my booty.

I had gotten down to 117 right before the weekend : ) Tracking the calories has made all the diff.

Nat - You have mentioned several times about the house thing. I had always been curious as to what happened. Thanks for filling us in a little.

Ellie - I put 4DS split in today to try and figure the name of the song during the 7 knees repeaters but I couldnt think of it. Sorry.

I did Gym Styles Back, Shoulders, and Biceps yesterday. I enjoyed it and it went by so fast. I have slight bicep DOMS : )

Okay so last night while I was taking the dog on our walk it happened. I couldnt take it anymore. I was bound to happen. I have the bladder of a 2 year old child. WHY? I peed my pants : ( How am I suppose to drink 8 glasses of water a day, if I cant even hold my bladder for an hour walk?

Sarah

Today I did Horizontal Conditioning volume 3. Loving these so far! I have to modify a few spots where she does a move on her knees though. I avoid a lot of floor work in workouts like Butts and Guts where you have to be on your knees. When I do B&G I'll usually just do the standing section because of that. If I spend any time on my knees at all they get puffy and ache:(. Stupid knees!

I really hope these workouts make a difference in my core! I know I'd have to be super duper strict about my diet to get that 6 pack though so I'm not worrying about that as a goal!;) If I can get lots of strength and have my middle be reasonably flat I'll be pretty happy! It's not to bad now, but it can always be better and I love challenging myself in this new way! One thing I'm already noticing is some nice definition in my arms from all the push up type moves. I'm hoping these will make it easier for me to crank out all those STS pushups when I get back to that!

Speaking of B&G, I think that will have to be my workout tomorrow!

Natty- I'm so sorry about the ordeal with your house. Money and family do not mix:confused:. I try to tell Mark that and yet we've ended up bailing out members of his family a few times. Luckily, we've been paid back so far but all it takes is one mishap and the relationship is forever tainted. Plus I wish he wouldn't even set the precedent...I keep telling him I don't want to be known as the family bank!:(

Sarah- I have the same teeny weeny, weak bladder! I still have issues with jumping jacks and jumping on the rebounder. Dylan forever ruined me down there! Poor kid was stuck in place and I pushed for 3 hours. I just know that's what did it! Good luck with 40/20 tomorrow!

Gotta get to work...later ladies!

O-M-G

I'm getting winding just looking at those clips! Did you see those [insert F swear word here] tuck jumps & plie jacks w/the blue firewalker?????!!!!!!!! OHHHH NOOOOO.

I see some Tabata Inferno moves there . We're all fried, seriously fried!!!

Good night all :)

(p.s-I did D20 legs. Yup, I need a weighted vest)

Hello Friends.
That clip is awesome! Alot of that stuff I can do although I know Cathe is dangerous though. The running is from 4DS Bootcamp. Yes, Freaked it is a good word.

Natty-In my area, the kids rather be at the park where the pipes come out of the ground and shoot water. Kids in my neighborhood don't play in the sprinklers for some reason. You sold your home for good reason.

Colleen-Congrats on HC 3. You are WAY better than me from reading your posts. I stay low on my step.

Sarah-Cyclemax is a good workout. Mindy Mylera came out with Cycle Tabata thing. I have problems with drinking tea as well for using the facilities.

My internship has given me a gas card and cash already plus was told more is on the way. I plan to be there until I get a job. My program's listng from the State, I gave them my new social media resume. On Twitter, I get requests to follow from many life coaches and consulting firms. Hash tagging is the most prominent way to get a message across there.
No set date for my date with the Mark in my life. Plus, there's a new old Mark as well.

Have an awesome day!!

JT

Hello gals :)

It's a scorcher out there . Going up to 45c w/humidity. What's that in F? 113F!!! That's sounds way more intense then 45c . I don't think it is advisable to be out on a day like today unless you are on a beach, covered in sunscreen and under a canopy...IN CUBA

So I went ahead and ordered the vest through Wal-Mart.ca. It's the Cathe Atlus one 12-20lbs. The shipping was only $6. If I order through Cathe's website, check this out, $78.00 shipping!!!!!! How the heck can they justify that cost??? We get screwed in Canada with stuff from over there. Are you sure you guys are not on the moon or something? ;)

Today's w/o will be D21 (back & bi's).

BBL to write responses!

**I'm adding my responses to this post**
Jen
Your internship looks like it's going very well. A gas card and cash is a great start.
Stay away from anyone named "Mark", they are all bad news. Just kiddin'!
Sarah
My bladder is temperamental too. I feel like I gotta pee every 5min sometimes. Oh the joys of having your bladder and pelvic muscles destroyed by a child living in your uterus for 9 months. I have NO desire to re-live that.
I'm impressed you can do the entire Cycle Max. Spinning looks just crazy hard. Perhaps like Tabata.
Colleen
Those HC workouts look insane. My core was burning just looking at the clips. When I did Tabata Inferno, there was sooo many plank exercises, and I felt like a total wimp doing them. I bet you could totally bust them out like nothing.

Lazy day here. I want to get out and walk or do something, but I think it might be considered child abuse going out with my daughter in her stroller with the possibility of heat exhaustion an/or sunstroke ;-)

Natty- I feel so bad for Canadians and the shipping cost issue you guys always have to deal with1:( I wonder what the deal is with that...does it have to do with duty or tariff's (I'm not well educated on that import/export stuff:eek:). I think I've heard that Canadian's have to pay more for shipping than many other countries and that stinks! You're right next door for crying out loud!

Have fun with your weighted vest by the way! That one may have to be in my future...the quest for fitness stuff never ends!

I keep forgetting to mention that I have Tabata Inferno from S90, too! I only did it once but I remember liking it, as well as a few others from S90. I have so many workouts that I love that the ones I just like a lot tend to get neglected! I keep thinking I need to pull that one out soon!

Today I did a kettlebell workout, Lauren Brooks Vol. 1. That's a goodie. I wish I could find more kettlebell workouts like it. Even her sequels didn't do it for me. I bought vol 2 and traded it. I was going to do Trisets total body express tomorrow but now I'm looking longingly at the HC bootcamp dvd...it's the only one I haven't tried yet and it's supposed to be killer! I'm having a terrible time deciding on workouts this week! I keep changing my calendar around on the workout manager. BTW, I love that Cathe provides that! It's so nice to be able to look back and see what I've done!

How cool would it be if CrossFire came to my house before I left for Disney?? I have a feeling it's just a pipedream, though! I'll probably have to wait until we get back to try it:(.

Jen- I'm so glad your internship is going well!

Oops, gotta go to work! TTYL!

Today, I got sent home early from the internship due to lack of work. Plus, my friend-supervisor may be realizing I know just as much or more than she does. At first, she allowed me to shine in front of her Boss but now things are changing a bit. Also, she wanted to make sure from the meeting which was peer group from the program that others were "jealous" of her. Not cool, not professional. The good news is I will be doing stuff to promote my blog and my personal brand at some networking events, the stuff I'm posting will encourage my group even. Going to order business cards today. Will be open for the internship but will not depend on it.

My workout in A/C will be 15 Legs.

Natty_yes, I live on the moon. Walmart can beat just about anyone on anything.

Colleen-Cool, Kettlebells. For me, one of these days. Dunhams and Walmart have them here. You may get her workouts before Disney. The clips always come out just before the presale ends.

Good morning :)

Double Wave Loads . Oh my. D21 (back & bi's), love it! I absolutely adore working back, especially w/my tower. The barbell rows are my fav, and I'm pushing 55lbs now. At times I felt I could have gone heavier, but with my temperamental lower back, I have to be extra cautious. My entire upper back is DOMS'ing today, and I've never felt anything quite like it. I guess that means I worked it hard ;).

Today Mark and I have a meeting with our lawyer who is representing us from the car accident we got into 2 years ago. Did I tell you guys about it? We were on the highway and some douchebag in an SUV (who admitted to reading a map and being sleep deprived ) hit us from behind. Thank God Bella was ok, but Mark and I were injured. The car got written off, it was in pretty bad condition. Anyhoo, we decided to seek a lawyer and charge the guy's insurance company (we have No Fault Insurance here in Ontario, which means you can't charge the individual). It's been a very long, slow process and we're still waiting for compensation. Apparently, the insurance company is unwillingly to easily pay-up. Isn't that surprising . Wish us luck!

Oh, so I did the plie jacks, tuck jumps and air jacks w/the blue firewalker. Ummm, that s**t is craaazzyyy. I'm busting out my pink one for sure! Actually, the blue one is doable, but the tension is so great that I could hardly open up my legs .

Colleen
If you are going to do M3 Squat Rack, you'll need a vest. Might as well just get one now in advanced...;)
I'm so jealous of your Disney vaca. Mark and I want to take Bella, but we figured 5 or 6 yrs old would be a better time. I want details when you come back ;).
Jen
I don't get people sometimes regarding jealousy and competition within the workforce. I guess it's a dog-eat-dog world out there. Sometimes it does not pay to be nice, unfortunately. You have to cover your own behind, cuz' in the end everyone is just looking out for themselves. I'm sorry to have to go through that :(.

Have a great day everyone!

Nat- That sounds miserable hot. I would be happy to stay inside all day. I'm just not a very good hot person.

Jen- I sorry that you have to put up with some jealousy issues. But I'm more excited that this internship sounds like a super good thing.

Colleen - I maybe have 20 WO (not including STS) and I feel like I don't have enough time or energy to get to all of them. I don't know how you do it. I get to where I actually miss certain WO.

Yesterday was Gym Styles (Chest and Tri's) plus I did Hiit 40/20. I had extra kids around so I wasn't in it 100% but it was still a good WO. Today will be Cyclemax. Tomorrow hopefully before the gargage sale I will squeeze in Gym Style Legs in the morning and a jog in the evening.

I had a slice of Papa Murphy's crappy pizza last night. No it was not worth it. I hate when I waste cleaning eating on shit.

Sarah

Oh dear lord. I just found my new Mount Everest.

Move out of the way Burn and Build and Afterburn...there's a new boss in town!

Horizontal Conditioning Bootcamp was peering down at me from the shelf...daring me. So I went ahead and popped that sucker in. All I can say is Holy Crap! I felt like such a loozah! Pausing constantly, modifiying, stopping early during reps (or collapsing actually lol). I seriously didn't think I was going to make it to the end. Let's just say it took me a lot longer than the 67 minutes to do the workout with all the pausing. Thank goodness summer is here and I had plenty of time this morning!

Some may call that a dread inducing workout and never do it again. I say Bring It On Sandra. (Putting on game face, taking a deep breath) BRING IT!

Did you guys know Collage video has a clip of To the Max up this morning? I wonder why since Cathe doesn't have her longer one up yet. I thought they usually got the clips last. (?) It looks like a goodie also! I can't wait until we get Cathe's longer clip.

Sarah- yep, it's tough trying to decide what workout to do sometimes with my plethora of dvds:eek:. I do wind up missing particular workouts and trying to find somewhere to squeeze them in. It's also tough to get back to workouts that I liked but didn't love like crazy. I still want to do those since I did like them but I run out of time and they get neglected. Having so many I love and getting new ones keeps my momentum going forward though. I'm constantly like...oh I wanna do that one, no that one, no how about this new one? I want to fit them all in. It winds up keeping me exercising consistently. I never want to take an extended break because I'll miss my loves too much or I'll be dying to try that new workout!:p I know for some people, having that much choice can be paralyzing. Not me though, thankfully!:D
I totally hear ya on wasting calories on something that was totally gross. So frustrating!:( If I'm going to splurge, it better be worth it!

Natty- Good luck with the lawyer today! I'm so sorry you guys got hurt. I'm convinced most insurance companies are owned by Satan.
I don't have the squat rack dvds so when I get to STS again I'll be doing Plyo legs. I do want to get that weighted vest though. I felt like I could have used it during Meso 2. I can't wait for firewalker tabata!! I may have to bust out the pink or green one the first time through though!

Jen- Good luck getting your business cards! I'm so glad to hear the internship is going well. Are you still considering Dallas/Ft. Worth in light of the new internship?

Have a great day ladies!

Hello Friends.

Colleen-It's good school is over and you have time. I don't pause during a workout it my heart rate is too high. It sounds like HC is harder than Cathe.
Sarah-Bummer on the pizza. Yes, I have wasted good calories on bad food.
Natty-MI has no fault here as well. Although, when I got hit at my old apt complex, the person whom hit me his insurance covered my car and my rental. But b/c of no fault, it is difficult to purse litigation against anyone here. Keep us updated.

Today, I didn't have to go in so I was very happy. My friend, whom drinks, her mother was up most of the night and she only had two hours of sleep. My cats kept me up so I wasn't going to go in anyways. The other night and today, she kept leaving voice mails on my phone and asked me to call back but never picked up the phone. IT is odd that she thinks I should do this business trip for a start-up but not going. In order to do the internship, I must stay on unemployment so I have to job hunt actively so not going.
Yes, Texas is still on the plate for possible moves. But, now considering pursuing social media as a future career opp.
My workout was disc 18 and I plan on cardio tomorrow night. HR was a mistake but proved helpful with this week's workouts but not doing it again though. Intensity has me curious.
With Crossfire and To the Max, I'm intimidated a bit but my step is never as high as Cathe's. The premixes might be my learning curve.
Mark. We never got together. We are both content and/or we both know that we match up well in some areas but dive in others. Friendship is the better route.

Also, I ate a burger for the first time in weeks. The caloric intake not worth it always.
Plus I told Mark I am a little bummed we never got together while he was working here. I left it up to him so I know I wasn't a priority BUT I have faith that God may have averted a disaster. Might go to the island I grew up on on Saturday.

Good morning :)

Yesterday's drive to Toronto to meet w/the lawyer was BRUTAL. I live 30-40min away, but the traffic was INSANE. I always forget how congested that city is. Plus, they are extending the subway line and adding in Via Rail to the airport, so you can imagine the chaos. Anyway, since Mark and I did not suffer "catastrophic" injuries, we're not looking at a big settlement. I don't care actually, we are alive and well and that's all that really matters.

Came home and did Intensity step premix (30min) to burn off some of my Spicy Chicken Burger from Wendy's (I had 1/2 of Bella's Frosty too ). My spare room does not have a/c, and so towards the end I started to feel uncomfortable and dizzy.

Ohhh ya, To The Max here I come baby!!! That sucker is right up my alley. High Impact/hiiit with my step! Heck ya, that's what I'm talkin' about! A lot of the moves I recognize from various Cathe workouts, and I CAN DO THEM!!! Crossfire just looks nuts, but To The Max looks somewhat doable  :D.

Do you guys watch the Euro Cup? Holy Christiano Ronaldo from Portugal. That guy's a TANK. Scoring like mad. Hottie too :p

Sarah
Hate wasting calories on crap. If I'm going to have something high calorie, it better be tasty . But you know what they say about pizza right? It's just like s*x. Even when it's bad, it's still good :D.
Hope your garage sale goes well :).
Colleen
Your workouts sound CRAAZZYYY. You are awesome for giving it a go and finishing it, no matter how long it took ya ;). How do you like Sandra? Is she cool like Cathe?
To The Max is very athletic-style step like AT. I think that one is gonna be my go-to :).
Jen
Sorry to hear about your cats keeping you up. That used to happen all the time to Mark and I. Now we use the baby gate and lock them in the living area/kitchen at night. My one girl cat Buddy, she is just too needy and loves to crawl and lie on top of me .
You've never done Intensity Jen? I think you could do it, even if only 30min. It's a calorie torcher that's for sure!
If things are meant to be with Mark, it will happen. Life is funny like that.
Have a wonderful day on Saturday. Are you going to the place you posted the pic up on FB?

Have a good one guys!
