We're In This Together **APRIL**

STS M1, D3 COMPLETED! That was an awesomely fun workout! Is it supposed to be fun?. I probably could have went a little heavier on my weights, but I was challenged enough. I took everyone's advice and did the dead lifts using a lower weight and not going as far down, keeping good form. I started out with 20 lbsx2 dumbbell's, and quickly felt the strain on my back, not my hamstrings. Can you believe I have to go down to 8 lbs? As long as I don't get injured, I'll take it. Good news is that I totally rocked at those leg conditioning drills at the end. Heck ya, Turbo Barre came through for me :D.

No more snacking on chips at night. I'm making this pledge to you guys so I can stick to it. I don't want my STS hard work to go down the toilet.

Sarah
Yummy, your oatmeal sounds super delish! Thanks for the ideas! You are quite the little chef. Your family is very lucky I tell ya ;).
Congrats on doing BM2! 95% completion is amazing! Even on a 6inch step, whatever step height, that workout is tough. Rotations are great as they allow you to get out of your comfort zone. You're spot on about that.
Jen
Your story gave me goose bumps. I'm so sorry that happened to you, but at the same time it probably gave you a real appreciation for life. No wonder you have such remarkable faith.
Fingers crossed for the job interview.
Colleen
I hope you had a good rest day after your clean-a-thon yesterday.

Have a good night ladies :)

Hi Friends.
Just got done with disc #1. I forgot about the pace and the weight. Need to mow Tuesday or later this week. It counts on my app. Know I will lose weight again.
Natty. The app I have has a website and I think Fitness Pal might have one too so you can enjoy chips once in awhile. Good you did deadlifts. Nasty like pushups.
Need to get out of town for a break.
Friday I might be interviewing again.
Have a great night.

Hi everyone! Natasha turned me on to your little get-together over here, so let me introduce myself.

My name is Natalie, I'm 35, married 17 years, have a daughter (12), a son (11), and a dog named Max who think he's a person. He is not.

I've been a runner and a gym rat since middle school and started with The Firm way back in 1999 to get my groove back after my first baby. Found Cathe in 2005, and was hooked! I own all but maybe five of Cathe's workouts, and I've done/still do STS, Insanity, P90X, Jillian's Body Revolution, yoga with Bryan Kest, functional training with Tracie Long, Bar Method and Exhale Core Fusion. I've worked with personal trainers in the past and ended up leaving them when I would beg them to push me harder, let me lift heavier, only to be refused and given the excuse the because "I'm a woman" I don't need to work that hard. What the WHAT?! Gimme my Cathe.

And now I'm off to do some Low Impact Series...I don't remember which one is on tap for today. I plan on redoing the LIS/STS three month transformation beginning in June. I had such great results with it the first time! I lost five pounds and several inches. WOOT!

Welcome Natalie! :)

I'm pretty busy today so I just wanted to check in really quick and tell you guys I got the tower yesterday! Yippee! :D Mark has to put it together yet, and I'm hoping to have it ready by the time I do back and biceps on Friday. Today I did disc 19 chest, shoulders and triceps and then I squeaked in a quick 7 minute ab work from my Gorgeous Core dvd I got awhile back.

I hope everyone had a great workout today!

Natty and Jen- how are you feeling after STS yesterday?

Hi Natalie, great to have you as part of our check-in. I have read some of your posts before (you make your own bread I believe).

I am a 38 year old SAHM of 3. 2, 10 year old girls and 1, 8 year old boy. I have been working out with Cathe since about 2004-05 can't rememeber exactly. I live in Washington State in a small town and have 13 acres. We have a dog too, she's a rottwieler. I completed STS/LIS about 2 weeks ago. Now I am doing another rotation that Nat found. I think I'll let her decide my rotations because she is very familiar with them. Where as, I get very overwhelmed and lost trying to decide. I hope thats OK Nat : )

I did it whoot, whoot. I did the whole Cyclemax. Yeeha. Now if I were actually in the pack with the rest of the riders I would have finished about 10 min. later because stroke for stroke I couldn't keep up. However, none the less, I still consider that I did it.

Nat - good for you for hanging in with those deadlifts regardless. What knd of chips? What maybe you shouldn't tell me.

My other huge breakthrough was I made Snickerdoodles and I didn't have even have one, not even any cookie dough.

Good news, my husband brought me home 2 presents yesterday, a chainsaw and a weed wacker. Very exciting. I want to make paths through the property so the kids can explore. Right now there are so many blackberry vines it makes it treacherous. This is something I've wanted to do for 8 years.

I previewed 4 day split step routines for later this week as per the rotation. I'm feeling overwhelmed with the chereography.

Hello Friends.
Tomorrow, I will address everyone on an individual basis.

Today, I have having a very BAD day. Two unexpected rejection letters from, what I thought, two great interviews. Funny thing is that I have testing for one position and a phone call about another today. Yes, I would normally be excited but I've been let down many times. With that being stated, I am SERIOUSLY considering a move to the Dallas/Ft Worth area for a job. Getting into working for the government seems to be rather well since I believe the oil companies are the major employers. Downers would be moving, giving up my downhill skis and most of my winter clothes, country music and not as many fresh water lakes. Grew up on Motown old school.
Giving up on jobs and giving up on men too even my new "friend." Lots to think about the next few days plus call back the people that contacted me today.

Hi everyone :)

Natalie, great you could join us!

I think you know so much about me already, so I'll make this short and sweet...

I live in Bradford, Canada (40min north of Toronto) with my 3yr old daughter Izabella, husband Mark, and 2 senior cats. Currently I'm a SAHM until my daughter goes to school, and then I hope to return to the workforce where I was a retail manager for a large pharmaceutical company for 15yrs. I found Cathe May 2011, which kick started a whole new level of fitness for me. Cathe helped me lose the last of my baby weight (and some!) and I'm proudly wearing the smallest size I ever have, including more lean muscle mass. Besides Cathe w/o's, I enjoy all sorts of exercise including biking, hiking, walking, skating. I make healthy living and fitness a priority in my life. I want to leave this world finishing strong :).

Ok, so yesterdays w/o (M1, W1, D3) had me feeling some nice DOMS today. No problems sitting on the toilet though :(. I know I should up my weight for the next disc w/legs.

Today w/o (M1, W1, D1) hahahaha.....hahahaha.....hahahaha. Holy cannolli, push-ups up the wazoo!!! My arms are fried, seriously FRIED. I'm anticipating some serious DOMS to the point where I might not be able to type. I think I did very well figuring out my weight selection, except for chest presses where I'm naturally stronger. I had a hard time however getting all my equipment ready and felt a bit disorganized (which bothers me). Weights were all over the place, they got in the way of my push-ups, my step was in the way, man it was hurricane city. Working in a small-ish room has it's challenges :(.

Sarah
Your posts are too funny! Thanks for making me laugh BTW, I need it after dealing with a temperamental psycho toddler all day .
Congrats on Cycle Max! I heard it's super hard. I'm taking the crotch area is accustomed to it now ;).
Yes, 4DS step is what I consider to be the hardest choreo I have done so far. I'm still having issues with the high intensity one. Regardless, it's SUPER FUN! I love both of them.
Snickerdoodles? Hmmm I don't think I've ever tried it. Great job on the will-power. I think that's harder than Imax3 and CCC put together.
Don't you just love it when the hubby's bring home presents you actually want. When are you starting that awesome path?
Jen
I'm so sorry you have to go through that yet again. I wish there was something I could do/say to help you. If you have to relocate where the jobs are, and if that's what your heart is telling you to do, then go for it. I know it will be tremendously hard, but sometimes change is good. It will all work out in the end, I have faith.

Ok, gotta get ready to watch Mad Men. Talk to you all tomorrow! Have a great night :)

**BTW, I will start a new check-in month tomorrow**

Natalie
You may hear from me.

My background is born/bred Detroiter.
