We're In This Together **APRIL**

Natty-hope everything goes well with the family this weekend. Lung cancer is horrible. My Grandma died from it but family still do it knowing what happened to her. We lost her way too early.
Yes, you should be in one of Cathe's workouts. You are photogenic and could keep up with Brenda, Lorraine and Jai. Amanda is about ready to have a baby, from a posting in FB. Cathe treats her crew well. Funny, you mentioned that Ellie, I was thinking the same thing.

Hi Friends.
Today I hope to do low impact circuit over low max. For breakfast, I had a bowl of mixed melons
My app is showing lots of red. No break for ongoing celebration
BBl

I had my reply yesterday all typed out but then hit the wrong button and it dissappeared and I didn't have time to do another one. Between early dismissal for school and, having 2 extra kiddlets, and my friend working on the treehouse, there was no time.

I hurried and got my workout in 1st thing in the morning though, STS disc 8. I was hoping for the time to do some spinning but it didn't happen.

Once the kids came home they were in and out the whole day in the rain. So my house is a mud pit. I NEED A MUD ROOM. It doesn't matter how many times I tell them take off their shoes they still try and sneak : ( I cleaned the floor so many times yesterday, have bruises on my knees. I swear its from cleaning the floor ; )

I had made a huge pot of spaghetti sauce for everyone foe dinner. I had made spaghetti squash for mine, I had never tried it. I thought it was a pretty good sub for pasta. I love pasta and once I have one piece it's all down hill from there.

Ellie - You are having to juggle so much write now. I am amazed that you are still finding the time to fit in workouts. I hope the the recovery is going smoothly for your husband. I hope the antibiotics for your sons throat infection are kicking in and he is able to enjoy spring. My daughters have to take allergy pills from about spring through summer. Kate has them worse than Taylor and Cottonwood trees are her biggest enemy, he eyes will swell shut. So during that time I do limit her outside exposure if its warm and dry.

Jen- How did the interview go? Why red for melon? Melon is a good choice cobtains a ton of water, right?

Colleen- Are your knees feeling better? I trudge through all the back stuff hoping that someday my lower back problems will go away but it hasn't happened so far. The other night when I was walking I made myself put my shoulders back and I could feel it in my abs with every step. Is it possible I have been walking wrong all these years and have caused myself a very weak core?

Nat - You do pick up choreography very fast. It is impressive, that is something that was always looked at very highly as a dancer.
I have never been to a funeral. When my Grandmas died we always had a wake instead its seems less formal and more like a get together for remembering. Funerals make me nervous. I noticed BodyMax 2 is on the rotation for Monday, the whole shabang, I'm not sure thats possible?

Sarah

My app is showing lots of red because my calories are still very high for the week. The melons rated good.
Chinese food not as bad as I thought

Hello everyone :)

Everything is stable with my mother's cousin. She is apparently seeing her dad and grandmother (who have passed) and pointing to them saying she is "coming". When I heard that, I got goose bumps. I really do hope there is a life after death. I'm not deeply religious, but I choose to believe that when we die, our soul MUST go somewhere.
Today was High Reps. OMG I am in love with that workout. If I was not doing STS, that one would be on my rotation weekly. At the end, my arms were burning. The push-ups totally did me in. Even though I did the majority on my toes, oh boy did I feel it. Out of all the Cathe strength training w/o's, that one is my absolute fav.
Ellie
Oh man, I feel so bad for you and your family. I hope your DH recovery goes well (I'm sure it will). Mine underwent surgery for a fairly big hernia a few years back, and of course just like the wussy man he is, he was in bed for 3 days . I had a c-section, had my whole abdomen cut open, on no sleep for 48hrs, was expected to take care of a newborn and walk around the day afterwards. Hmmm and they say men are stronger...
Speaking of children, I hope little Riccardo is doing better. I hear you on the no sleep thing. It's so damn terrible! Bella was sick for 2 days and I was on no sleep making sure she got her medicine throughout the night. I'm 99.9% sure I don't want anymore kids. I don't know how Colleen and Sarah did it .
I'm sorry to hear about your ankle too. As long as you did not sprain it, you should feel better soon.
LOL not super human! When I can do 40/20 with no modifications and a billion push-ups like Cathe, then I will consider myself to be ;).
Sarah
LOL, I can't tell you the number of times I was writing and pressed the wrong button and my s**t got erased! So MAD! Now I copy and paste while I'm writing so I don't lose any of it.
Spaghetti squash is very yummy! It's great you chose the alternative. Pasta is very dangerous. Like chips, you just keep going and going...
Oh sure, you can do the whole 90min of BM2! I have faith in you! Don't go in with fear of what's to come. Just go in there and get it done! I honestly think the leg work is what makes the blasts difficult. Do what you can and be proud with whatever you've done. Didn't you mention you can do pull-ups girl?
Jen
YAY 3lbs!!! I'm so happy for you, that's really awesome in 10 days!!!
I'm glad that app is serving you well. At least some are helpful...I have Mark doing zombie pics of me and his friends .
You always talk about how much you like Low Max. I really want that one too. Oh my, you enablers!!
Colleen
You WILL catch on to the choreo, trust me. It took me 1 year to get where I am. I'm glad I never gave up.
I never thought my cardio was that spectacular. I've been doing Cathe's hardest for 1 year now. I guess it all adds up. What about you and Afterburn? There is no way in hell I can do all those Spider Mountain Climbers like you. That's pretty awesome :). And 20lbs kettle bells!! C'mon now .

Have a great weekend ladies!

Hi Natty
Thanks on my weight loss. I was shocked since I ate bad earlier this week.
This is my ENABLER statement
You should own or have access to every workout from the Hardcore series forward with some prior by choice like Step Blast, KPC, etc
Your DH is not going to like me now
Plus you need the equipment to go with.
You would LOVE my collection

Have a great weekend ladies!

Your family member may actually have seen those other people.
In junior high, I did have a life/death experience. It is almost like they are in the same room
Yes, I would have gotten goosebumps too

I forgot to check in yesterday! Whoops! :)
I did Trisets total body (the upper and lower premix...86 minutes!) yesterday. It was actually the first time I did the upper body portion of Trisets. I really liked it even though it got pretty long. I guess I'm used to doing STS and going heavy because the weights I kept grabbing would end up being too heavy for this workout with all the balance challenges and the higher rep count. I'd always end up losing my form really early and having to go lighter on the next set. I'm feeling the DOMS today in my hamstrings and butt! I LOVE the dixie cup stuff! It really gets in there!
Today starts my STS week but since I did weights yesterday I'm going to do cardio today and do the next STS disc on Tuesday. I think today might be Kick Max. :)
My knees are starting to feel better as ttotm started today. I have it down in my calendar for the next few months to remind myself to keep that week before it to all low impact. It's crazy how much that relaxin hormone makes my knees all unstable and prone to injury! Now I just have to remember that!

Natty- What your mom's cousin said...that practically gave me goose bumps too! I hope she goes peacefully. Death is really tough, even when you aren't close to the person. I am really not looking forward to when Mark's Grandma passes not only because I care for her so much, but because my kids are close to her and I haven't historically been very good at explaining death to them. We had a cat that I had to put to sleep about a year and a half ago and it was really uncomfortable trying to explain that to Dylan. He's so incredibly sensitive as it is anyway and when he asks tough questions I feel like I stumble around a bit in the explanations.

I could totally see you in one of Cathe's videos! How cool would that be! Then we could say we knew ya when...! Hee! Yep, we're all enablers, too! Can't help it! :p

Jen- congratulations on the weight loss! I commend you for logging your meals into that app and sticking with it. I think I'd have a tough time with being consistent on logging my food. I've heard it's incredibly helpful to get a real handle on your actual daily calorie total. So many of us underestimate what we're actually taking in because portion sizes are so out of whack these days! We just went out to eat last night at TGIF and the menu had a few selections that said "under 750 calories". I thought, man that sounds like a lot, and yet those dishes didn't look appealing to me! I wound up getting some salmon with these yummy parmesan potatoes and zucchini. I tried not to eat too many of the potatoes but they were so. darn. good! It was depressing to think that this was obviously a meal that was likely well over 1000 calories! Yikes!

Sarah- posture when sitting, walking, etc. makes such a major difference in lower back pain and it's all about the core, isn't it? I also notice how much my balance improves during workouts when I engage my abs. The other thing I've noticed is when I focus on using my glutes and hamstrings while working out or even just walking up stairs my knees feel less pressure and strain. It's incredible how much you have to think about sometimes during movement...just typing this made me sit up straighter in my computer chair!;) Spaghetti squash sounds yummy! I have got to try that sometime!

Holy smokes, this post got long! Better get moving here! Later girls!

Sitting having my cup of coffee and bowl of oatmeal, reading posts. That is my usual mornings and I love them.

Yesterday I was only able to accomplish part of KPC up to through the first combo. I used 1 pound wrist weights also but just ran out of time. I had to make cookies for him then help out in the treehouse. I love using power tools as much as lifting weights, it's that whole "bad ass" thing. It is so close to being done, its really exciting. My friend has been building it for about 2 years and the kids have been saving and all pooling all their money for 2 years also. It will be a great place for them to go when they have friends over.

My son had a friend over yesterday also and brought him over to me and said "Show Jacob your man muscles" LOL (I did proudly).

Today is suppose to be my my rest day, but their is a 2 hour Zumbathon. It's a great cause. 38 year old, mom of 3, has the bad breast cancer. She works at the middle school in town. 100 % of the money goes to her. She is having to drive to Portland 160 miles (both ways) 3 times a week for treatment. I will attend with one of my daughters.

Holy canoli Colleen both the UB and LB, you must have felt strong. That whole death thing scares me too. I havent really had to deal with it, as far as someone I was really close to yet, let alone someone that the kids are close too.

I am checking out your app today Jen and seeing how it differs from fitness pal, and the others. Congrats on 3 pounds, I didn't even think you were trying to loose weight.

Goosebumps for me also while reading your post. Even though you may not be close to her, the people that you care about are so it is a snowball affect.
It's nice that you are there for support.

Sarah

Hi Sarah.
I like the app cause its free. With my provider, Fitness Pal is charged by my usage and my phone plan. Honestly. I did not think about losing weight but after the Vertigo, I needed to eat right
Going to do Intensity tonight. 400 calories.
Plus STS starts in May
Jen

Kick Max is great! I feel pumped! ;) I even got plenty of house work done today. All my floors are clean at the same time! That's a rare thing in this house! Not that it'll last more than a few hours!
Have a great night ladies!

Good evening ladies :)

Today's workout was CCC instead of Imax 2. At the end, I was regretting not doing Imax 2 :(. I realized my dread from that workout stems from the repetition of the exercises between the circuits. IMO, with a tough cardio like that, you really need to add variety to make it at least somewhat fun and bearable. Agree or disagree here, that's my take on it :p.
Oh my, tomorrow STS starts . I think I may start w/legs as my UB is still sore from High Reps. We'll see...
Unfortunately, I have seen death many times in my family. My grandfather died at the early age of 51 from Lung Cancer. I was 5 but I still remember his last days at the hospital, and the burial is still vivid in my mind. My great grandmother died just shy of her 99th birthday (not Lung Cancer related). My uncle's dad died of Lung Cancer. Mark's grandfather and grandmother died of Lung Cancer. The kicker is my family/Mark's family continues to smoke without caring about the consequences.
Jen
You mentioned having a near death experience. I hope you didn't suffer tremendously and I also hope it was not very traumatic.
Thanks for the enabler ;). I know, I know. Cathe rules :D
I've been bad, I did not do my 1RM for the majority of the exercises. I don't think I have time to go through them all.
Colleen
You know what, I'm ovulating now and my knee's and back are hurting more than normal. With me it's not just during TTOTM. I get bad ovulation symptoms too, including severe ovarian pain and bloating. I've been that way since I turned 24. What about you?
WOW on the TBT UB/LB 86min bonanza!!! I love that LB workout! Last time I did it, I was not able to sit on the toilet for 3 days properly . I was holding on to the seat just so I could "land softly". Yes, Dixie Cups are pure genius.
Sarah
What interesting stuff do you put in your oatmeal? I'm loving dark chocolate in mine now :p.
Power tools are pretty bad a$$, you're right. I'm a sucker for a man who is good w/tools ;). I got a computer nerd instead .
It's so wonderful your community is doing a Zumbathon to help that woman with Breast Cancer. How great of you to participate.
Man muscles are hot! You show them off and be proud!!! ;)

Have a great night ladies :)

Natty-May 1st is Tuesday. I have to mow my lawn that day so disc 1 will be a light one for me. Yes, I will enable. CCC is a great workout.
Colleen-I get those symptoms too but less when I eat healthier. Although, I also get stubborn and won't do certain stuff in workouts.
Sarah-Mike Holmes from Canada of Holmes on Holmes. He's hot. My new "friend" is a computer nerd. He advised me on my new smartphone. And, his name is Mark.

Myself-Tonight it was Intensity although I hadn't truly woke from my nap which I got moving around 45 minutes earlier. Not always safe. There were some stuff I just didn't do although I knew I could. Haven't decided on Monday's workout yet cause Tuesday is STS. Tomorrow morning is my interview, come home and do follow up then groceries. Hoping to interview with the business south of here this week too. Thinking Low Impact Challenge again.

Good morning ladies :)

Today is the first day of my STS/Shock Cardio rotation w/M1, D3, Legs!!! I'm pretty excited . I'll come back to let you guys know how much I loved it :D. I'm hoping for some ICSOTT DOMS (That's short for I Can't Sit On The Toilet :p).

BBL! Have a wonderful day!

Hello Everyone.
My interview went well and feel at peace on what happened. Very happy that I was able to schedule it with my new phone when I was out of town. I feel I am good match for the job and the University.
Natty-since you are starting STS today, so will I but Im doing disc 1, week 1 with problably a lot lighter weight than you. Tuesday then will be lawncare and some cardio. My near death experience was when I was swimming in my pool growing up. Some neighbor kid pushed me under and I lost conciousness. I did get swept up by angels and I did go thru the tunnel. The light at the end was a "pure" white, not just any white. I've only seen it a few times since. Jesus grabbed a hold of me and He told me it wasn't my time yet then I remember going thru the tunnel and then waking up along the side of the pool. It's an experience that I will never forget.

BBL to report on my STS experience. Have a Great Day!!

Have fun with STS you guys! :D Today was my typical Monday off. I'm so tired today. In addition to my workout yesterday, I worked my butt off with housework! I literally never sit down on my days when I'm at home because I'm constantly cleaning, doing laundry, dishes, organizing etc. The only time I do sit down is to type a check in on the forum and sometimes I forget to do that I'm so busy! I have to come to work to relax! LOL

I hope everybody has a great Monday workout!:)

For my oatmeal for the longest time, I only used PB. But now I never use PB anymore. I roast bananas (to concentrate the flavor) add some cinnamon, cottage cheese, vanilla extract, 1 tsp of coconut oil. I also take canned or frozen pumpkin and cook it down (again to concentrate the flavor) add spices, vanilla, a little maple syrup, and coconut oil. The other is I cook down apples, or apple sauce with spices, cottage cheese, vanilla, coconut oil, and cottage cheese. I also put a green tea Chia bag in the water that I cook my oatmeal in occassionaly.

Have a nice rest day Colleen, congrats on cleaning the floor. The floor is my awful job, that and cleaning the shower stall. Yuck.

Good job for starting STS ladies. I can't wait to hear about CSOTT doms.

I did BodyMax 2 today and made it through about 95% of it. But just couldn't muster enough energy to do the abs yet. Hopefully late today. I also didn't do the concentration curls. I also only did it on a 6" step. But overall I'm happy and proud. It's something I would have never done either, if it wasn't for being part of the rotation.

Good job on the interview Jen. I will keep my fingers crossed for you for luck. A little luck never hurts. Your story gave me chills also. No wonder you have so much faith : )

Sarah

Plan to start STS in a few minutes. My hunger pains today became a problem cause I had to eat then I had to count it. Hope to do some aerobics on the off-days.
Sarah-I use a 4" step but prior to my MBA, I was on a 6.
Thanks about the job interview.

BBL tonight or Tuesday.
