We're In This Together (April 2013)

Natty. Shortest distance to Mexico from me is 6.5 hours to Laredo. Closer to Little Rock AR & Shreveport LA. My town is in north Texas.

Marie. B is on my sleep schedule due to my move. Hope you get the job offer. Doing personals can be hard if you're busy.

Colleen. My sister suffers from SADS and has a sunlight lamp. Been hearing stories of the neverending winter.

My update:
Went to Grapevine Mills. The coolest outlet mall ever. Got caught up in a construction zone with EMTs. Freaked out abit. My furniture doesn't arrive till Thursday or Friday but not upset. It gives me time to do what I need.
Tuesday. Big job fair at huge church.
Sunday. Apply for jobs and church.
Cats are adjusting. Madrid gave me an earful on Wednesday.
Always trust your intuition.

AB today :) I just love that one. I had major DOMS in my legs from yesterday's workout so I made sure to stretch real good today.

B and I took a 2h nap today. That felt so nice. I am not much of a napped but I was just super tired today.

I put B to bed awake about a half hour ago in his crib. No crying and now he's asleep. Happy mama!

Natty- Totally agree not one approach fits all. Glad to hear Bella's naps increased. I'll have to read more into that. B's range from 15m to 2h. Glad you're loving BB :)

Jen- Glad the cats are adjusting :)

Colleen- Hope you get BB. I thought of you yesterday when I was doing Bootcamp :)

Hi Sarah.

I forgot to hiit submit yesterday on my post. I went for a very fast and furious walk on Friday as it poured on me. Then Saturday morning I went for a walk while waiting for my daughter at her piano lessons. Then came home and did HO Co minus any leg work as I have DOMS from Fridays X-train Legs. Today is rest day!!!!! I will do just thats, except I really need to clean my closet and go grocery shopping.

My niece came up last night for dinner so I made Grape Leaf Rolls (Dolmathes) and my mom made a greek salad. I ate a little more than I should of but nothing to terrible.

Yes chickens do have personalities. Some peck you when you reach under them to collect the eggs. Some don't, overall we have really nice chickens because my mom loves them so they really are afraid of us. We also have no roosters as they are very mean and aggressive. The one thing I can't get over about chickens is they are really dumb. Like sometimes they don't even know how to get out of their pen. They try to eat everything too.

Just a quickie post!

Today's w/o was BB Chest & Tri's. I'm fried .
Can you believe my whole body is DOMS'ing from BB Cardio yesterday? Especially my upper back, which rarely feels DOMS. I'm a happy camper ;).

I'm making baby back pork ribs in my slow cooker today :p. Nothing says lovin' like a juicy piece of meat :p:D;).

Hope you guys are having an awesome day!

Supercuts for me today. First time doing that one and I loved it. Went super quick. How about those 8 sets of 5 sit-ups into 5 pushes?! Omg! Wow!

Hi everyone :)

Rough sleep for me last night -- not sure why I couldn't for the life of me fall asleep . Bella's up early too, by 6:00am most days :(. [sigh].

Today Mark is home, so we promised Bella we would go to Fairy Lake (I believe I talked about it last year a few times). Once there, we will feed the geese, walk on the trails, play in the park. It should be a nice active day :). Oh and I'm also picking up my EZ bar today .

Sarah
I absolutely LOVE grape leaf rolls! What do you stuff them with?
Interesting about the chickens. Bella loves animals so much, that I never tell her what type of "meat" we are eating, for fear that she will suddenly become a vegetarian :D.

Jen
I'm so happy that you and your kitties are adjusting well! Boy cats totally rock .
I love malls. Even if I'm not shopping, I just like to check things out :).
How are the prices over there? What is the weather typically like at this time of year?

Marie

Take all the naps while you still can! Hopefully B is napping right up until school :).
Super Cuts is so awesome. My fav circuit w/o Cathe has ever made!

Colleen
Did you get a trade? TBH, that program is SO good, I think you may have a hard time finding someone who would consider parting with it. But of course, one man's junk is another man's treasure. Finger's crossed for you!!!
BTW, do you think it would be even remotely possible that someone would be interested to buy M3 minus Plyo Legs (never giving those up!) + squat rack legs instead?

Bye bye for now ladies!

Natty. Woke up today to 69 degrees. Rain later this week will drop it 20 degrees.
The mall was the biggest, fanciest outlet I've been in. Prices very low. You could clothe Bella for a season and change of seasons rather inexpensively.

Morning ladies!

It was tough to decide on a workout yesterday. My biceps, forearms and traps were killing me! I don't know what it is about upper body DOMS versus lower body ones for me but man was it hard to function. I get thrilled with lower body DOMS, even if it means I have a hard time picking something up off the floor or getting out of my car. With upper body, though, every time I went to pick up something this weekend I was like "owie...whimper". I haven't had biceps DOMS like that in forever!

I had planned on a combo of Cardio Leg Blast and HC 101, but I knew HC was out. The idea of even holding the heavy weights in CLB wasn't something I could fathom! I just had to get some cardio, so I put in Anni's Fierce Force and did the first circuit (lower body), (15 min) keeping the weights super light. Then I did XTrain Legs: standing + stability ball/chair premix (minus w/u) and 100 hip thrust challenge with 50 lb barbell. Total workout time: 65 minutes. Of course, between setting up the workout space, deciding on what the heck I was gonna do and switching out the two discs my total time back in the bedroom was much longer than that! ;)

ETA: Forgot to mention today is my rest day! :)

Jen- I'm so glad your settling in well! I agree with Natty, too. Boy kitties rock! :D I have always had much better luck with boy cats (personality wise anyway) than with girl ones.

Natty- I'm so sorry about your sleepless night. That is the worst! I have had a rough time sleeping lately, too. Unfortunately, Mark has started snoring this past year. :( It's intermittent, and of course much worse when he has had a few drinks, but it has resulted in me spending a lot of time on the couch lately. I have developed this system where after everyone else is in bed, I get the heating pad and neck pillow on the couch with my fuzzy blanket and start reading. That makes me super sleepy and then I drift off for a few hours. Then I'll typically wake up just enough to stumble back to the bedroom. By this time, Mark usually isn't snoring anymore as it seems to happen right during his first stage of sleeping. Of course, I can't get him to do anything about it. It doesn't bother him you know, so it's not a problem right?

No hits on the trade list yet. :( Usually I get at least one or two offers right away but this time NADA. Bummer!
ETA: on the plyo legs...I have a feeling that would be at tough one to trade. Lots of people love the Plyo legs and fewer seemed to enjoy the upper body ones. It doesn't hurt to try though! I could see some people trading the squat rack legs. It's tougher to trade for systems if you don't have a system to exchange. I always offer multiple dvds for systems but someone would have to want many of the ones I offer to give up their system. I knew Body Beast would be a long shot but ya never know! ;)

Sarah- I LOVE those rolls! We used to have a Greek restaurant in town and I'd get them all the time. Unfortunately, that restaurant is no longer open. Just thinking about is making me crave Greek food again!

Marie- Love AB! I'm going to do that one tomorrow actually. :D Have you tried Low Impact Hiit yet from XTrain? I love that one, too! Also, she doesn't repeat any exercises in that one, so it's like a slightly easier, super fun Afterburn with great music. :)

Better scoot! TTYL girls!

I stuff the GLR with onions, garlic, ground lamd, rice, and some parsley. Then I steam them in beef broth. They are sooo good. I love lamb but I don think people often use ground beef. The worst part is dealing with the grape leafs.

I did 100 rep challenge Hip Thrusts today also Colleen, a lot different weight though. I only used 30lb, and barely made it. Burned so good, my butt was trembling so bad.

I think boy kitties are way better too. The girl ones can be little B******. I actually never had girl ones though.

Todays WO was Cardio Leg Blast with the 100 rep hip thrust as a finisher. I wore the 10 lb. belt the whole time and used 20lb. dumbells and you know what? It didn't seem to bad. I am trembling in my boots for Saturdays, its Hiit Pyramid and butts and guts. Then next week is Tabatasize. I will be out of my comfort zone for sure.

I didn't sleep well either. My husband had to get up at 3 to fly Kentucky for work. So I didn't sleep till 3 when he got up. The worst part is I could have gotten up and cleaned house or something instead of just laying there hoping I would fall asleep.

Have I mentioned I love Sunflower Butter. I bought some just for a change and I love how drippy it gets when you put it on something warm. I also found a recipe for a Pad Thai using Spaghettin Squah that I will try this week. I love Pad Thai.

Nat - I do think its best when they are little to keep the whole meat/animal thing on the down low. I was very upset with my father for telling me I had just eaten Peter Cotton Tail when I was 6. LOL So how long is you BB rotation?

Colleen - That sucks about the snoring. Sometimes Tristan is really bad too, and sometimes I'm really bad. I do love falling asleep on the sofa, for some strange reason.

Marie - I really liked Supercuts too. It was just fun. I also felt that way about Circuit Blast.

Jen - Did you have any luck at the job fair at the church? Did the rest of your stuff come?

Kids have 1/2 days for the next 2 weeks. I was bad and kept them home today.

Sarah

Speedy check-in...

It was a crazy shift on the psych unit tonight.

I'm doing 4DS this week so today was HIS and chest/back. Love that step workout :)

Storytime with B at the library and then a playdate with a friend and her baby.

I booked a trip to CO to see my sister and my niece in early May. So excited! It will be Breckin's first place ride :)

Colleen- I've been wanting to try Low Impact Hiit and I'm sure I will soon. I just wish it was a bit longer. I like working out for an hour but if I do a video that is less than that it's rare I throw another one in to make it an hour ;)

Hi everyone :)

Yesterday's outing was was so nice. I'm happy summer is fast approaching :).

Even during my sleep deprived state, I still had to do my workout yesterday which was BB Build Legs. OMG killer, killer, killer . This is my 2nd time doing it and it did NOT get any easier! There is this one move where Sagi takes the EZ Bar and puts it in between his legs while doing a 1 legged split deadlift (Cathe does this move often but with dumbbells). I was wondering how it would feel to do the exact same move with the EZ Bar...so...I picked-up an EZ bar . They are relatively cheap, around $20 or so. As soon as I got home, I ran and tested the move out like a total fitness nerd . OMG ya, it feels totally different! What an incredible way to isolate the hammies! I'm feeling super CSOTT DOMS today :D.

I forgot to tell you guys about the BB Cardio w/o! Holy cow, 80% of it was plank related exercises! There were plyo jack push-ups, where your hands have to leave the floor while in push up position . I had to do them on my knee's, but even that was incredibly hard! Or how about 1 minute of split jumps! One verrryyyy long minute .

Marie
If I was forced to keep only 1 series from Cathe, it would be 4DS. That series just makes me so happy!
CO is Colorado right?

Sarah
Greek restaurants here stuff them with ground lamb as well. I love lamb and eat it often :p. The sunflower butter sounds incredibly delish :p. I like to make pad thai, but I usually use rice noodles. I guess the squash would be lower in carbs/calories.
LOL about the rabbit :D. My mother makes rabbit once/year around Xmas time and no one will eat it except for her, myself, and my grandmother.
The BB rotation is 3 months, but I plan on taking recovery weeks during the different phases: Build, Bulk, Beast

Colleen
Sorry to hear about Mark and his snoring, resulting in sleepless nights for you :(. Mark used to snore often when he stopped going to the gym, and as soon as he went back, the snoring stopped . Bella has been snoring really badly these past 2 weeks! I'm assuming she has some sort of allergies because she is a bit congested and stuffy throughout the day. If it persists, I might take her to see the doctor.
Stacie from my check-in snatched up BB from Craig's list for only $50. Don't despair about the trade! There must be someone who wants to part with that program. I love it, but I can see how people might find Sagi irritating. I personally think he is a wonderful instructor. His form is excellent, his queuing is great, he is motivating. Sometimes he refers to himself as a third party  but I've made peace with that.

Jen
The mall sounds awesome! Jealous of your nice weather.
How did the job fair go at the church? Did you but anything from Ikea yet? ;)
