Wen update and vanilla mint review

Yeah, every time I use the WVM I love it more and more...to me 613 and WVM are very similar in how my hair reacts...my hair loves them both. I also find the ginger pumpkin to be a little more drying, but so as to not waste it I use it once in a while (love the scent) and also to clean my make up brushes, for which it works great!

Does anyone know if QVC will ever carry the Vanilla Mint on it's own? Given it seems like a similar formula to the Pumpkin Spice (which I LOVE LOVE LOVE), I'd like to try this, but the Amazon price is crazy.
 
Interesting article on Hair One. I may just have to try that. I used up all my Pumpkin Spice the other night. The pump broke about half way through the bottle, very frustrating. And it was almost impossible to get the stuff to come out of the bottle unless I really forced it out. It made a mess. The last time I used it I put a TON on my hair because a TON came out of the bottle. Other than the nasty peppermint smell (which I can't take much of) and the burning sensation on my scalp and shoulders, my hair looked the best it ever had the day after. I was shocked. I guess when they say the more you use the better is totally true. But who can afford to use half a bottle with every wash? I can't. And that's about how much I used that last time, maybe not quite as much as half the bottle, but close.

I wish they'd get away from the mint fragrance, I cannot stand minty fragrances. I'm hoping Hair One isn't like that.

I think the mint fragrance is to mask the fact that it's menthol making the head tingle. Menthol is listed on the Hair One ingredients, but the fragrance is not overpowering mint. You definitely wouldn't like the Vanilla Mint of Wen.

Thanks Jane. It seems all good conditioners have the menthol in it. I guess that is what makes it so good. I just wish I could stomach the smell. I'm actually glad I'm out of the Pumpkin Spice. I didn't want to throw it away because it was so expensive, and I did like what it did to my hair. But the smell was a bit much for me.

You might like the 613...I think it still has menthol, but to me, it's the most "gentle" smelling of the wen fragrances and I don't notice the menthol, but again, it doesn't bother me. If you want to give it a try, QVC has it back in stock...the bottle is bigger than the others, so unfortunately it costs more...

At least you got an outstanding hair day for your troubles!

I actually received mine from qvc as part of an assortment of wen fragrances, so yes, I'm sure they will have it and I'm sure the price will be better than amazon...Chaz Dean is supposed to be on qvc on december 1st, so my guess is that they'll be debuting it then. I hope you love the WVM as much as I do...it's hair magic for me!

Agree about the crazy Amazon price for WVM! I bought it because I have a $20 gift card and it made the price more "reasonable." It came yesterday, and I used it last night and ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! I like it better than the Ginger Pumpkin (which I also like) and for whatever reason the scent has stayed on my hair and since I'm loving the scent that makes it even better. It does smell like Andes mints, faintly, and not at all "menthol-ly."

I'm glad to hear QVC will carry it and hopefully at a much better price, I plan to buy another one while it's still available.
 
GREAT news!!!!! I'll have to remember to pop over to QVC at the end of the week (or on Dec 1, if they might be running a special if Chaz is going to be on). I'm dying to try the WVM. I love the Ginger Pumpkin - I bought 4 bottles of that, and still have a huge Lavender bottle (only about 1/4 empty), so a couple of WVM will carry me for quite a while - hopefully until the big June gallon size sale! :)

I'm growing out my hair right now and just love what Wen is doing for it. It feels fabulous, and I have to use essentially NO other product to make it look nice. I am looking forward to talking to my hairdresser on Monday when I go in for my appointment to see if she notices....

I still can't slice thru my hair with a wide tooth comb, but it is vastly improved and shiny. I have to resist the urge to ask complete strangers to run their fingers thru my hair and feel how soft and manageable it is. It actually looks best with just a comb out and natural dry which is very different for my straight long fine light colored, color treated hair. I used to need to blow dry to avoid the flat plastered to my scalp look. It is also working well for one dd who had dry at ends not very healthy looking hair but didn't work well for dd who has fabulous healthy long straight hair but teenage scalp.

Ha ha, that's funny, thanks for letting me know. I am keeping an eye on QVC to see if they are going to offer the WVM as a single. I still like it and 6 13 the best. I was hoping my hair would become even more wet comb-able, but it is holding steady with vastly improved. And again today after I brushed it out after it finished drying, I had to stop myself from asking people if they wanted to touch my hair. I'm such a weirdo, lol.

Yes, they are offering it as a single for $29, with a $3 savings for each addtl bottle...just saw it a minute ago. Its item a-219400. And here I swore I wasn't going to buy any more Wen until my current stock is used up, but I love this one so much. Like you, it's my favorite with 613.

And you're not a weirdo...I keep hoping somebody will ask to touch my hair!!!
