Happy Friday, All

Today I did 4DS - LIS step only. I will have to get legs, shoulders and core in tomorrow. I think I wll attempt to do 4DS next week as well. My goal will be to do each workout as intended with a couple days of running/walking mixed in.

more later.......

finished 4DS boot camp + bis/tris, I can't believe I did 4DS 4 days in a row. yoga tomorrow then a day off on Sunday. Shereta how do you like the LIS? Ido okay until the last combo then I get a tad bit lost. Melanie good luck on your race this weekend! Hi to Tina! Waves to all the MIAs, I hope everyone is swell :)

Good morning ladies! I'm really struggling with taking a day off today, but it's a must. This morning is a mad dash house cleaning and then off to work. Execise really is an anxiety buster for me, so it's hard to lay low.

Still don't have a rotation planned for this coming week yet. I was thinking of just running with favorites, maybe something like this: MM, KPC, B&G, BM2. Friday is our anniversary ride if the weather cooperates, so that shortens my week up. I'm really having STS withdrawls. I'm itching to get back to it. I've also gained three pounds back since stopping STS, so it really does work for me.

Good luck on your race Melanie, I'll be thinking about you tomorrow. : )

Shereta, I hope your mom is feeling better. She must be so happy to be at home.

Off to put my Cinderella apron on. : )

Today's workout was Athletic Step (80%), 4DS Legs, core and stretch. A really good workout for 70 mintues. I kept my leg weight moderate so I could finish it all. I ate cookies last night and the chocolate fix made me strong today. :) Not healthier, but stronger. Pmsing. Arghhhhhh.

Sue, good job on finishing 4DS. I feel the same happiness. DH wanted me to run trails with him. But, boobs are feeling the weight of the cookies from last night. But, hopefull next

Saturday I will join him. He loves us running together. I love that he loves that.

Yes, Tina, you must take a day off when you workout hard on the other days. Your body and mind need and deserve it. Yes, I am so happy my mom is home. She's happy too.

Melanie, hurry up and give the report. DH ran his half last saturday in 2:33. So proud of him. Our next race is a 10K on Thanksgiving day. So, I'm enjoyig less running for a few weeks before I start training for that. Last year I ran 1:12. So, this year I'm hoping to knock 7 minutes off that. My neighborhood will help with the hills.

Hi guys!

my race is tomorrow - feeling very excited. I just got back from the expo and picked up my race # and swag bag. Yesterday I was really sick with a stomach flu, so I was really worried about Sunday, but I'm feeling good today and ready for tomorrow.

I'll let you all know how it goes. Thanks for all your support & encouragement!!

Good luck tomorrow Melanie! I'm so glad you're feeling better. Tina I vote for you doing whatever workouts you want for your next rotation. How long before you're back doing another round of STS? Shereta your hubby sounds like a keeper :). BTW my phone keeps trying to spell check your name to Sherbets. I did yoga relax today. I am so freaking relaxed right now :) There's a part toward the end where Cathe says something like "your spirit is happy..." the last time I did YR I remember thinking strongly "no, my spirit is not even remotely happy". I must be in a better place because I didn't have that reaction this time. Cheers to the strong women :)

Hey, Ladies. Todays workout was a premix from CF. Fun, fun fun.

Sue, that's hilarious about your phone trying to spell my name!

Melanie, come on. Where are you already? I can't wait to hear the details.

Sherberts made me giggle-snort! Sue, that's priceless! : )

Yesterday was a long bike ride in perfect weather. The trees are all changing and the roads are quiet now that the tourist season is over. Doesn't get much better than this for riding.

I'm in the mood for High Reps this morning, maybe a bike ride later tonight.
Starting STS in a week, I can't wait!

Melanie must be in sleep mode. Can't wait to hear about her race. : )

Hi guys!!

No - not in sleep mode (hahaha!)

I had a great run yesterday in the half marathon - finished at 2:27! That's a personal best for me. I was worried earlier in the week that we'd have rain & cold, but the sun came out, and there was no rain. It was a perfect day for the race. I kept my pace even at the beginning so at kilometer 15 I could really kick it in high gear. I finished with a sprint at the last half kilometer. My husband missed me at the finish line cause he didn't realize how fast I was going! Anyways, it felt awesome to finish strong and with a smile on my face. At the beginning of my training I honestly doubted I could do this, so I'm so proud of myself for sticking with the training. I'm thinking of eventually trying for a full marathon.

I'm trying to attach a couple of pictures (hopefully it worked).

After the race I went for a massage which was a great little treat. I did celebrate with a couple of glasses of wine & a chocolate tart, but I'm not going to let that make me feel guilty. I haven't had wine in a VERY LONG TIME!!!!!

So glad to hear that you girls are sticking with your routines.

Tina - is this Friday your wedding anniversary?
Shereta - glad you're having fun with the Cathe workouts again. And I'm so glad that you're going for the 10K run on Thanksgiving.
Sue - I have the yoga workouts, but haven't done them yet. I may try them out though cause you sounded so relaxed.

Well girls, have a great Monday and thanks again for your encouragement! :) :)

Wow. Melanie, YOu beat my hubby by 5 minutes. You two probably would have tied if he hadnt walked with his co-worker a few miles. That's awsome. And we, too, are considering a full before we turn 50 (in three years.)

Tina, High Reps is one of my favs. Enjoy.

Today's workout was 4DS kickbox, legs and core. I went heavier on legs cause I just felt stronger. I will incorporate two runs in this week- repeats on the dreadmill and a 4-5 miler on Saturday.

Congratulation Melanie! Great Pics! : ) Awesome clock time too. I'd be so proud of that! And one chocolate tart? Just one??? I'd have been "gimmie that plate".

High Reps and Boot Camp Upper/Lower premix. Muscles are feeling fully worked.

Thursday marks our 23rd anniversary (we've been together for 30). DH suprised me on our ride yesterday. When I went to reset my cycle computer, there was a fancy new one in its place. What a sweetheart!:D

Awww , Tina, that was sweet of him. And congrats on the big 30!!!! Now, that's impressive.

My workout today was Step Moves. I needed some Cathe fun and that fit the bill. I bought a new HR monitor and I burned 625 calories this morning. Didnt really feel worked out. My HR never got above 148, but it was so much fun. I did some jumping and really got into the workout. All that running has definitely improved my cardio capacity.

4ds with some weights on tap for tomorrow.

I've noticed, since starting this challenge, my weight has been up and down. So, today, I am exactly where I started 3 months ago. I know it's because I eat too many sweets. That's my reward of choice. But, its not a reward at all. It's a self sabotage. So, now, I'm really praying over the menu I plan the night before. I've done this before and it really helps. I've got to learn to say no to the sweets and move on.

Good morning girls!

This morning was LIC Extreme for me. I've decided to do two weeks of the LI series interspersed with running.

Tina - what a sweet hubby you have! Congratulations on your anniversary and for being such a fit and active couple. Having that in common must really strengthen your friendship. Have you guys ever thought about touring on your bikes across the US?

Sue - How's your diet going with eliminating sweets? Still sticking with it?

Shereta - congrats on the 4DS lower body with upping your weights. I find that lower body routine to be really tough - so its awesome that you felt strong enough to increase your weights. Personally, I find that concentrating on my lower body with my workouts really helps to get me slim. I gotta start doing two lower body strength workouts a week.

I'd like to tackle the Rock Bottoms rotation that Cathe designed in February 2011. That was an awesome rotation for me when I did it about a year ago, but it was tough!! I may try it in November/December.

Have a great day girls. :)

Hey Shereta - you must have posted just as I was typing my post. This whole weight loss thing is really about learning what works for us and mustering up the determination to do what we know we need to.

I know that I haven't made as much progress in my weight loss as I would have liked to at the start of this challenge.

I stick with my diet really well and then boom! I WANT TREATS!!! I have to learn to be more self-disciplined and self-controlled.

I was doing really well on my quasi Paleo diet, then stopped following it for about a week and a half. I honestly didn't feel so great during that time. I was eating more processed/pre-packaged food, more refined carbs and less veggies. I had some major stomach issues. So I'm determined to get back on my diet and really aim to give it a full month. I'm hoping that after a month it'll be more natural for me and an easier diet to stick with.

So, Sherberts - just stick with it. Don't give up.

I will Melanie. I bought a 6 month weight loss journal that fits into my purse. I hope to log everything into it and hope it helps keep me on track.

LOL - on the nickname. That still cracks me.

Tina I'm so glad you got in a good ride this weekend, and a new computer to boot! What a nice hubby. So spill, what did you get him for your anniversary?

Congrats to Melanie on your personal best! Were you trying to break a record? Nice pics! You'll have to tell your hubby to be on his toes next time. Are you chomping at the bit for another race? I'm still only eating sweets on Saturdays, I think eventually I'll need to limit myself to one dessert instead of whatever I want all day long, but that's where I'm at now. Trying to change too much too quickly will lead me to backslide and then all the self esteem issues that come with that.

Shereta good job on increasing weights in 4DS, feeling stronger and increased cardio capacity - all your hard work is paying off!. your weight may be the same as 3 months ago but how do you look & feel? I'd bet you lost inches and have a better body composition. Tweak your diet and you'll get some love from the scale. I've been contemplating getting a heart rate monitor, any thoughts on choosing one are appreciated :)

This morning after breakfast I was still hungry and I grabbed a banana. I think I was a split second into the first bite when the pleasure center of my brain lit up like a roman candle. I think I forgot how naturally sweet bananas are.

Yesterday was slow & heavy legs, never did it before so I had to be cautious especially since I work out alone. My upper body is pretty weak, there was no way I was hoisting 50 lbs over my head. I managed to get 27 lbs up there, legs could have gone heavier but like I said, no go on the UB. So I think that particular one will need to be avoided for a long while. I would not have chosen it for myself anyway, only downloaded it because it was in the rotation I'm doing this month. Today should be a rest day, but I think I'll do some yoga. I like everything about yoga except down dog, that position is super hard for me. Tomorrow back on 4DS HIS.

Happy Tuesday peeps!

Thanks, Sue. I'm so happy to say I did eat over my self-induced allowance today, but I had to listen to my body and it was all healthy food. I'm feeling really good now. Like I will sleep well and be rested for my workout in the am.

There are several types of HR monitors out there. I bought a SportLine T7 from Walmart for $29. I just want one that can give me my HR with the touch of a button and counts calories. There was a few which costs more that had more features, but this one is like my last one, so I know how to work it. Some keep your HR continuously with a chest strap. Too fancy for me. That one was $59. Sports Authority and Sports Academy had many more to choose from.

Good morning ladies, hope you're all doing well. Today I'll be breaking out MM, haven't done this one for a few months, so I'm really looking forward to it. Yesterday was all out kickboxing. I'm a broken record on this, but Amy Bento's Kickbox Xtreme is so much fun. Love the music in this one too.

The weather doesn't look very nice for Friday, so we may have to postpone our anniversary ride until next week. Bummer, but I'd rather wait for a nice sunny day. I'm thinking I'll buy DH a nice bike light. He rides right through the winter in total darkness, so a brighter light with a wider beam (to see oncoming deer ) seems like a nice gift.

Food continues to be my arch nemesis. Stress eating is a hard foe to beat and when I meet it face to face most days, it still manages to win. My teenagers really know how to pile on extra stress, but this is what the teen years are supposed to be about, right? It also doesn't help that we just had a Trader Joe's move into town. Who knew one store could carry so many delicious treats?! I may have to start limiting my visits there.

Sue, your post on Slow and Heavy has me wishing for a new VHS player. I love those workouts and haven't been able to do them due to our player dying on us. I also have the PS tapes, those would be fun to break out too. Hmmm, I may have to wait one more week to start STS and just do an oldies rotation.

Good morning :)

This morning I did Total Body Trisets - upper & lower body. It takes 86 minutes, so I fast-forwarded through the parts where Cathe is doing a lot of talking and showing modifications. I was still done at 7:00 and had to really rush to get out the door for work. But I wanted to do this one in its entirety today and didn't want to have to do something after work.

Tina - I'm sure we all understand about the stress eating. When my mom was in the hospital last year I think I gained 15 pounds because I just kept eating mindlessly to bottle in the stress and worry.

What's the trick to fighting stress-eating? I wish there was a simple answer, but I think it comes down to talking ourselves out of it, and thinking before we eat. I'm not always successful at this, but the more I practice it, the more I can talk myself out of sabotaging my diet.

I hope you do get in a good ride with your hubby when the weather is nicer. He rides in the winter?!? Wow - that is a committed man!

Sue - do you have a weighted vest? That'll help you increase your weight for lower body without having to hoist a heavy barbell over your head. I found it to be a great investment. Sometimes the barbell really hurts my shoulders.

Shereta - glad to hear that you ate something healthy when your body was telling you she needed food! All these little things add up to success.

So that's all for me! Have a great day girls!

Today's workout was 4DS - HIS, chest, back, shoulders, calves and core. I was so strong on the step portion. I burned 1032 calories in 90 minutes. I really feel worked out right now. cutting down on sugar intake has left me feeling stronger and more encouraged.

I did overeat a little yesterday. I listened to my body and ate good food. Actually, it was only a handful of nuts. But, I'm down a pound from yesterday.

Tina, I love MM also. I think I love all Cathe's workout except Cardio Core Circuit cause its just over the top for me. Maybe I should use it more often and just tackle it. hmmmmm.

Mel, I love Trisets. I too fastforward through Chatty Cathe. lol
