Weighted Vest brand Cathe uses?

Hi,

Does anyone know what kind of weighted vest Cathe and crew are using in the STS pics on the blog?

I've been looking for one, and the ones I have found look like a bullet proof vest and sort of interfere when you are doing squats. The one Cathe wears appears to just buckle in the front instead of looking like a bullet proof vest.

Thanks!

It is part of our Fitness by Cathe line and is called the X-Vest. It should appear in stores later this summer.

Just curious--do you know if Altus plans to launch all of the new Fitness by Cathe line on this same approximate time table or are some items scheduled to be released at a later date? Thanks!

Chocolate IS the answer, regardless of the question.

I would say around 80% of the product line for this year will be released at the same time this summer. There will be some products like the Pull Up Tower that will be available at a later time this year. Also there are many products currently be designed with Cathe’s influence and input that will be released in 2009.

I agree! Hubby was sweet enough to buy me a weighted vest but it was huge and cumbersome and we had to take it back. I'm stoked we'll be able to get this vest, it is just what I want too. And to be able to get it in stores and not have to order it is a big bonus!!

Good question about the washing, I was wondering the same thing about the weight gloves I use. I have heard people add the vest to activities like walking, jogging, hiking to add pounds, theoretically you should burn the calories of your new "weight".

I'm not sure how comfortable or safe it would be to add the vest for activities that involve too much jumping.

This is the only weighted vest I want. I will buy it the first chance I get!

I've tried others, and I don't like them because they are too big and bulky.

I NEED a weighted vest because I can't hold really heavy dumbbells or a loaded barbell because of my wonky wrists.

Good point.
I wear a weighted vest for walking, and some people use weighted vests for controlled plyometric moves for osteoporosis prevention (a certain number of plyo metric jumps in place, not jumping very high, for example).

I would hope the vest is washable (if it's adjustable, which all weighted vests should be, IMO, there's more of a chance of that). In this hot weather, I now have to wash my vest every time I wear it!
