Traci - Add me to the list of dyed-in-the-wool foodies. I am a veritable gourmet. One of my tickets has been that I am choosing foods I consider yummy at all times - and if weren't for SP and structure, I'd be in a lot of trouble! None of the listen to your body/eat-what-you-feel-like-it programs have ever been successful for me.
Before SP, I'd been eating typically 2 PB/oatmeal muffins with a little soy margarine or a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast... lunch maybe spinach/mushrooms/tomatoes in a bag with 2 T bacon bits sprinkled over instead of dressing, plus a grapefruit cup... snack of 2 Dove dark chocolate squares, and dinner maybe a can of tomato soup with 1/3 c. shredded colby melted in plus a piece of wh/wh toast with soy margarine, and maybe a bedtime snack of an ounce of walnuts or a bit of pumpkin pudding or 2-3 sm. healthy oatmeal cookies.
After SP, breakfast is more typically a smoothie of 7 pumps of egg white, 1/2 T flax seed, 1 scoop soy protein powder, and a piece of fruit. And now I'm trying to get some turkey or chicken in once a day.
Just the soy protein/7 eggwhite pumps is giving me 30 g of protein a day I wasn't getting before and I'm seeing a nice difference from that.
Yesterday I didn't do the egg whites, but I ate chicken twice.
I love black beans in salads, chick peas, etc., but I really haven't done that many legumes... just force of habit, I guess.
If you ever want to look at my nutrition, my username on SP is marathongal and the password is meekodog. You're welcome to peek
As excited as I am, I have honestly only lost 2# a month for the past two months, although I believe I'm picking up a little more muscle as well, and that weighs in the balance. If I can just get 5-6 more pounds of fluff off of me, I'll be thrilled and everything after that would likely just be fine-tuning with the trainer's input involved.
I've never done weights so steadily before. I just don't do it productively by myself or at the gym... the classes were a disaster... having the trainer 3-4 times a week isn't practical.... I have to say that above all else, Cathe has gotten me over that hurdle.
A long message! Sorry to ramble -
xoxoxo,
