Weight Watchers Flex Points

Hey Kimmy,
I just checked out Flex Points because I am a on-line member of WW. They have lowered the daily point range goal. For example my hightest point range goal daily used to be 23 now it is 20. They are also taking more exercise into account so you can earn more than 4 activity points I believe according to what I saw on the website. You get 35 flex points a week. So for example if I ate 30 points and earned 6 exercise points I would use 4 flex points leaving me with 31 flex points to use in this week. It is really not too different from the original plan other than you don't have to worry about "banking" points. If you eat right at 23 points and earned 6 points exercising you could actually eat 3 more points and not even go into your flex points. You may be able to get more information from their website - weightwatchers.com. This information may not be totally accurate as I have just learned about flex points today. Good luck!

Gogigi is right...here's my explanation too..

My old pre Flex range was 18-23 pts. I banked some of that daily so that I could splurge on the weekends or whatever.

Now, they tell me to do 20 pts. Daily. Then I get 35 extra pts for the week to "play" with. I could split them up for each day (so it would be an extra 5 pts per day for a total of 25 daily)....or eat them all in one day!

Also now you can add unlimited (I think) exercise pts. I breastfeed so I have 10 extra pts in that area, per day.

Everything else is the same. It is just really a different way of doing the math...altho it sure looks like I get more pts than before (25 instead of 23!). Cool.

I started the new Flex Points last week. I weighed myself today, and after one week, I lost 3 lbs. I know I will not lose that much every week, but I ate all of my 20 points everyday, used all of my excercise points, and also used 25 of my Flex Points. This plan gives you freedom to eat a little extra on days when you need it. I think I may have FINALLY found the plan I can stick with for life. I am totally thrilled with this plan. I can still have treats and use portion control, and on the days I am really hungry, I can eat more without the feeling that I am blowing the whole day.

How is everyone doing WW? Did you buy the home plan or do you attend meeetings or just pay the on-line fee? I have tried WW years ago and it wasn't for me but am wondering with the Flex Points if it will work now.

Any comments on the new system or how you do it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Rhonda

I pay the online fee. I really like it. I really like the new Flex Points system too.

I really like doing it online and weighing myself. I log on every morning and keep my journal up all day. It tracks everything for me nicely.

I do WW online too. I have friends who swear by the meetings, but I found that I am doing okay without them. I have lost 15 lbs since July. About 2 lbs a week. I have about 5 more to go. There are forums on the online site also, so you have folks to socialize with in that way, and you can trade tips, etc.

I find that if I eat clean on WW, as in, lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, lean meats, occasional treats, I am NOT hungry. If I ate a lot of processed junk...I'd be hungry. So, it is an encouragement to eat clean. ALso lots of water....I think half my problem before was not enough fiber, not enough water.

I got a 3 month online membership for $50? thru my health insurance company (it was a $10 savings? I think.) and I think I will probably not need to extend it any more than that...I will have lost the weight and learned the key to keeping it off...

Really, I think it & Cathe is the best way to lose weight healthfully and successfully and longterm (for those that NEED guidelines to eat healthy, anyway)...you could go ahead and count calories I guess and achieve the same thing, but WW simplifies it. . something I really needed. Simplification.

Hi gang:

I have my WW meeting tonight where they are going to introduce this new plan! I'm so excited :) I just can't wait to see how things will be different and I always get hooked on the "new" stuff that they put out, too, the gadgets are fun!

I'll be back tomorrow with my review. :) Marcia

I signed up online last Fall, and I did not care for it at all. I signed up for the At-Home-Kit, and it will arrive tomorrow. The meetings are 1/4 mile from my house, and I am going tonight, and I went last week, but I will not go every week. I like to look at things and read them, not on the computer. It is just better for me. With the At-Home-Kit you get all of the reading materials and I can refer to them if I need too. It just works better for me. Many people LOVE the online.....
