Weekend Plans?

Liann

Cathlete
So what are you gals up to this weekend? I plan to paint, paint, and paint some more. :) I just re-did my family room bathroom in a dark pumpkin spice color with black accents - iron wall sconces etc... I am getting ready to redo my upstairs bathroom in a deep burgundy wine color with white accents. Unfortunately, one of my wiener dogs was locked in the bathroom a few weeks ago on accident and basically tore apart the trim on the door. I will be reconstructing that later - it literally looks like Godzilla clawed at it! So that's my fun, fun weekend. How about you all?

Liann--Your house sounds so lovely!! Post pictures!! I am eager for DH to clean out the garage so that I can set up my treadmill in there. No room inside our house for it. So I'll be working out with the centipedes. Yuck. (We have a family of centipedes in our garage. Eww...) So that's what I plan for HIM to do this weekend. I am making a "Thankful Tree" with the boys. We're going to buy some of those loose fall leaves that you can decorate with, and I'm going to have Oliver write things he and Henry are "thankful" for on the leaves, then I'm going to hang the leaves on a branch that we bring in from outside to make our "Thankful tree." They have been SO consumed with what to ask Santa for that I think they've lost sight of what they already have and should be thankful for. I adore Christmas, ALL of it, all of the commercials, etc, but I wish that everyone didn't bypass Thanksgiving to get to Christmas. It used to be that Christmas season began the day after Tgiving. Anyway, that's what we're planning on doing. May also collect some fall leaves outside for Oliver's leaf journal. :)

Oooh, both sound very pretty!

My dad is in town this weekend, so we'll be doing some fun kid stuff with him, plus he has agreed to babysit Saturday night, so we're going out to dinner and to see Larry Miller the comedian. Haven't been to a stand-up comedy show in years and years.

Have a great weekend!

edit: Liann's decorating plans sound pretty, that is. Not the centipedes:p.
I like the Thankful Tree idea!

Liann, definitely post pics of your room. It sounds fab!!

Steph, what a wonderful idea. You are such a good mommy!!

Tomorrow I am getting together with Rhondayln and Kara at the Cheesecake Factory :eek::eek:

Liann - I think you and I should start our business ;)

Steph - awwwwwww, I love the Thankful tree idea! How lovely!

Jodi - enjoy your date tomorrow night!

Catherine - Mmmmmmmmmm... Cheesecake Factory! Which Kara do you mean?

As for me, well, let's see. I have to rake a billion leaves before it snows, plant over 200 bulbs, sand, prime and paint a dresser, clean and purge my kitchen, do laundrymax, dustmax, vacuummax, etc., complete a scrapbooking challenge, run 8 miles.... ah well, sleep is overrated anyway;)

That would be Kara(user name is Kara) from Northern KY. Not Squirrely.

Oh, and Shelley, I am tired just reading your post!!

Stephanie - I totally feel your sentiment toward Thanksgiving.

I know I have a bunch of projects that I *should* do, BUT I found plans on a web site on how to build a homemade slide board (like this) and I just happen to have a 3/4" sheet of melamine board in my workshop...we'll see what happens. ;)

I'm meeting some Catheites in Hershey tomorrow. Gracenote and Gayle (banslug) are the two I know will be there. Who else? Don't know.

Liann, I have so much painting that needs to be done, but I ain't doing it! It was supposed to be DH's project during the summer. Last summer he was supposed to rip up the carpet and replace it with hardwood flooring. Neither job has been started....

Shelley, if you get half of that work done, you deserve a big pat on the back!

Catherine, have fun at your GTG!

Stephanie, I love the Thanksgiving Tree! Maybe I'll steal the idea for my DGS, when he gets a bit older.

Gayle, another handy gal? Have fun. I'm totally inept when it comes to any kind of tool.

Ooh, the rooms sound pretty. I like those colors. And I love to paint rooms, can I come help??

As for my plans, we are watching my nephews tonight. They are 10 and 13, so not alot of actual watching to be done. Its my Bro/SIL 21st anniversary so they are going out for a bit. Tomorrow morning I have to work. The mailman brought the last of the sparkly thread I need for a new Xstitch project, so I hope to finish the one I am one, and then sort supplies and get started on the next. I believe DH is sorting and starting to hang outdoor Xmas lights this weekend, its a 2 weekend project. It's gonna be chilly out this weekend, so I will probably be running out side with hot tea deliveries frequently. But all in all, not a whole lot going on, which is good. Last few weekends have been busy and starting up next weekend, they'll be busy thru Xmas. I'll take the R&R when I can get it!

Nan

I want to go to Hershey AND the Cheesecake Factory :(:(:(:(
Have a great time!!!

Liann- My whole house is white walls with white trim. Lots of accent pieces and carpet ect. I have been dying to paint my family room a COLOR!!! I'm afraid. I want either a really rich dark blue or a dark red. Maybe I'll post a pic for ideas.

Stephanie- we do something similar with tinker toys. We build the tree with what we are thankful for. So nice for the kids.
Shelley- your weekend sounds an awful lot like mine. At least that's what I have PLANNED. Not necessarily gonna get done.

I hope everyone has a great weekend
elliemom

Those all sound like productive plans! I have a facial, dentist appt, parents coming home from disney, got the laundry and cleanmax going and regular errands. oh and hopefully something fun and a couple of workouts somewhere :)

Tomorrow I'm going to do PUB in the morning and then spend the rest of the day making 3 different kinds of cookies for a bake sale that my sister is having at work on Monday.

Sunday is a 10 mile run in the morning and then spending time with my dad in the afternoon.

It sounds like y'all'er busy! I'm envious of everyone who is doing something FUN with friends or going out on a date with their DH. I'll be doing what I've done every weekend for the past 8 weeks -- I'll be sitting at the hospital with my DFIL. DH and I will go out to dinner Saturday night and I will enjoy that very much.

ETA that I'm planing to do CC Vol 4 in honor of Mama Deb's birthday!

You are so adorable, Liann. As for me, I will probably snuggle down with my trusty humidifier and relax with the puppies. There is nothing like a good book, my blankie and puppy kisses. :)

I love hearing about everyone's plans-exciting or not:)

Tonight we're taking our 3 dds up to school for movie night. They're showing Kung-Fu Panda. Should be fun. Tomorrow is my 11th wedding anniversary. DH and I had plans to stay at our friends' cottage but sitter issues nixed that. And it looks like he'll be busy anyway-it's supposed to snow here in Michigan and he's a project manager for a landscape company and they have a ton of snow accounts. Sigh. I'll probably watch college football, workout, and clean. Not sure about Sunday, maybe a trip to Target-always fun:)

And I might just steal Stephanie's awesome idea for the "Thankful Tree". I love Thanksgiving way more than Christmas-a time of reflection-and food:)

Michele, what a wonderful daughter-in-law you are! Takes a very special person to do that. Enjoy your dinner out with DH-you deserve it.

Michele, you and your DFIL continue to be in our thoughts. Hope he's doing better. It is very good that you and your DH are able to get at least a little time for yourselves. Enjoy your night out!

I'm going to don a gorilla suit and head over to Starbucks. Maybe they will give me a free caramel mocha thingy. Or, I might take a ten hour nap on a tanning bed, get some heavy duty botox, and see if I can land a gig on Dancing with the Stars.

WOW Beavs!
You are one wild and crazy gal!:p

I'm going to do my holiday cleaning. I want to put my tree up before Thanksgiving, and I can't do that until my house is holiday clean;)

Liann, your bathroom sound gorgeous! Post pics if you can:) Sad about your little one getting trapped. :(That happened to my girl Mercedes. She locked herself in my closest. I think it has scarred her for life. She freaks over closed doors. She has learned how to open ALL the doors in our house:eek:

You are so adorable, Liann. As for me, I will probably snuggle down with my trusty humidifier and relax with the puppies. There is nothing like a good book, my blankie and puppy kisses. :)

Melissa - That sounds wonderful!!! I'm just taking a break from my painting to see what everyone else is up do today. I would trade places with a lot of you alls! I've been taking before and during pics. and I will get some afters when I'm done. DH and I found the CUTEST faucet for the downstairs bathroom. It is just like one of those old fashioned water pumps. I can't describe it well, but once the bathroom is totally finished, I'll get some pics of that too. :)
