Hey everyone. Well, what a weekend. I'm still in braces recovery mode. Today they seem to be a little better--not so much pain though I wouldn't say they are comfortable. I still can't eat much. Yesterday after Isaac's T-ball game we went to Burger King. I tried to eat some fries and it hurt too much. I never thought I'd see the day when I couldn't eat fries. Even when I was pregnant with Isaac and nauseated a lot, I could eat fries (unfortunately).
It's also really bloody hot here this weekend. Excuse my language, but it is really nasty. We don't have air conditioning in our old house (just some fans) so we are mainly keeping very still in front of fans. Well, the boys are not so good at keeping still, but they're drinking a lot so at least they're well-hydrated. I got Tracey Staehle's new
Strike Zone workout yesterday but can't get myself to do it in this heat. Ugh. Now I remember why I was tempted to join the YMCA last year--a place to exercise with a/c.
I'm going to try to catch up on personals if possible.
Kara, I haven't seen the new Indiana Jones, yet, but I'm a big fan of those movies (just don't get out to movies much since having kids). I have heard some spoilers about the extraterrestrial elements, though, and it did kind of worry me--I tend to get annoyed when random space things are brought into a movie out of nowhere (though I actually enjoy science fiction if it's sci-fi all the way). Like in the movie Abyss I thought it was a great movie until the end, when it seems like they suddenly thought, hey, this movie's getting too long, let's end it with some alien stuff. Probably I'll give Indiana Jones the benefit of the doubt and try not to roll my eyes too much. Anyway, glad you had a good time with Colin!
Tneah, don't know if I've had much experience with the "foo-foo" kinds of places, but we don't spend much on food, DH being cheap and all. The best meal I ever had was in this hotel in France. They had two menus--you just chose which menu and they brought you course after course. Some of the courses were rather dainty, but there were at least a dozen of them. We also had no clue what we were getting since we didn't read French, but it was sooooo good. Yum. Also very good wine of course and excellent service. I never experienced French people being rude, though, like their reputation. Even the French waiters were so kind and gracious--but I've never been to a French restaurant in the U.S. where maybe they act snooty. Ah, I miss Europe sometimes. I think you should definitely take a nap if you are so tired. I am the same way about needing my beauty rest.
Leanne, I love that movie
The Jerk. It's a family favorite. Very silly but fun. But trust me, I ain't going to eat pizza from a blender.... I've been having a lot of Slim-Fast shakes and stuff. Last night I had some fage with flaxseed and honey for dinner, so at least I'm trying to be healthy with my mushy foods. You are definitely NOT a loser. It sounds kind of crazy that you were supposed to empty your lungs. Weird.
Deb, so glad you have your puppy! Pictures, please!!!
Shannon, sorry for the trouble your parents are having. (((HUGS))) to the family. Good luck on your job hunt as well.
Jennifer, sorry you didn't get an answer on that phone call yet. Good luck and I'll pray for you.
Kristi, wow, I'm so impressed at the training you manage to do in Texas weather. Whew. And here I am complaining about our NY weather (though you probably at least have a/c when you come home, but on the other hand I'm not running and biking and all that like you are).
Shelley, big squishy (((((((HUGS))))))) to you. I'm so sorry you are going through so much crap--not only with your sister but with everything else. I sure hope you don't have to miss the RT this year.
I have to go finish baking a cake (I know, it's crazy I'm baking a cake and I can't even eat it--but it's German chocolate with coconut frosting and I hate coconut anyway).
