****Weekend Melting****

So I never thought that, being on the West Coast and all, I would ever get us started in the morning. I guess that's my reward for getting up at 5:00 on a Saturday.;-)

All that talk of putting pizza in the blender so Lainie could eat it made me think of Pizza in a Cup, from Steve Martin's film _The Jerk_. Have you all seen it?

Today's my rest day, but I just started Laundry Max and will also be doing Clean Max this morning. Today I'll also be meeting the San Diego folks for lunch, and then (shriek!) I'm getting the body fat testing done today. I'm almost tempted to call and cancel, but I have to go through with it, right?

I may head down to the mall early so I can try to find a dress for that wedding we have in July. Hope your Saturdays are all off to a great start! :)

Deb -- Are you back yet? How did Keegan do with the traveling? Are he and Kelsey getting along alright? We've been hoping for some photos, so I hope you get a chance to post some!:)

Robin -- Are you back this weekend or was it Tuesday? We've missed you!:)

Lainie -- You poor thing with that pain! Are the meds helping? Sending you {{{HUGS}}}! Like Kristi said, the fat-reading scales seem to be pretty inaccurate. One of the reasons why I want to get the professional testing done is so I can gauge where exactly my scale is at. I'll let you know how accurate (or inaccurate!) it is. Just rest and take it easy today -- and be sure to have Brian help out with Ewan and Isaac! :)

Shannon -- Any fun plans for the weekend? Will you be working on your watercolor?

Shelley -- What a busy day you had yesterday! Is your belly feeling any better this morning? Any idea of what may have caused it? That is so funny that Chris said that to you when you first started going out. What a funny, sweet guy!:) How fantastic that you were able to get that vanity for free! Hope you and Sophie have a nice visit with Karen today. Sending you all big {{{HUGS}}}!

Kara -- Hope you have a blast with Colin today! Will you still have to leave him there? At least you can spend the day with him! How are you feeling today? Are the ankle and neck better? Hope so!

Tneah -- How awful about that bird in your pool! Last year, a bird flew into our sliding glass door; DH came home and found me watching him and sobbing, but he turned out to be alright, just stunned (the bird, not DH;-)). So sorry you had to see that! How cool that you volunteered at the zoo! Now when do you leave for that wedding in Florida?

Jennifer -- I'm worried since we haven't heard from you lately. Is everything alright? Did you find out about that phone call yesterday? Hope it's good news!:)

Kristi -- Wow! This weekend will be so intense for you -- but just think -- you're almost finished with this training, and then you can just "play" with your workouts and have fun with the rest of us! :) Was DH's b-day yesterday or is it today? Hope he has a fun one! I'll also get those protein pancake recipes posted later today or tomorrow. Too bad that the elliptical motor won't be here for a few days, but it sounds like you have a lot of working out to do this weekend to keep you plenty busy! ;-) I was also going to recommend a few fun dance/hip hop workouts for you to do with the girls this summer. I have a bunch of dance ones that I don't do as much anymore since I'm trying to focus on more intense workouts, but these are some of my favorites of the ones I do have:

Hi Leanne! I'm here, I'm here. Sadie woke me at 6 to go out, then I came back and dozed for a bit, got up at 7 and did Cardio Coach. Now I'm all clean and showered and eating my breakfast and getting ready to start another super-busy day.

Sounds like your day is going to be fun and don't you DARE cancel that body fat test!!

My belly seems to have recovered. I'm not sure what did it, but hopefully today will be better.

Good morning, Shelley! Glad you're feeling better today. OK, I won't cancel, but I'm sure tempted to.;-) Are you heading out soon for your visit? Hope your day is good! Sending you more {{{HUGS}}} and smiles!:)

Just got done cleaning most of the house, but vacuuming will have to probably wait until after lunch today since DH usually sleeps in until noon on the weekends, and I'll be long gone.

So last night DH spilled a glass of Mountain Dew on the coffee table (and on my new book -- grr!). After we cleaned it up, I left the pile of wet towels on the tile floor at the foot of the stairs to bring up to the laundry room later on. So later that night, DH steps RIGHT OVER the pile of wet towels to go upstairs -- without picking them up to bring upstairs! At that point, I said to him, "THIS is why I'm upset that your brother is moving in with us! There will be TWO of you sloppy men in the house!" DH is actually really good about being tidy, but I think I'm just on edge with this whole BIL moving in thing. ;-)

OK, off to do some beading!

Morning All:)

Wow, the west coasters are up and about before the easterners?? Well, except Shelley our resident superwoman!:)

Leanne, do not cancel, because then you will always wonder "what if"..and still not have a true number to go by. You work hard, eat right and will be pleasantly surprised, that I am sure of! LOL about DH and the wet towels, my DH does three chores around the house, makes the bed, empties the dishwasher and changes the lightbulbs. Anything above and beyond those three things? Well, lets just say, he would have probably stepped over the towels too.;) I am worried this relative is going to cause problems between you and DH, keep those lines of communication open! Ok, thank you Dr. Tneah.:7 Have so much fun with the girls today, will you post pictures later on so we all can see how much fun you had?

Shelley, you are ready to roar already!:7 Glad your belly is better, that must so frustrating. Do you have a bit of irritable bowel happening? I used to have a terrible thing called candida in my intestines that I had to go on a special veggie diet for. It basically is a buildup of yeast in your intestines that causes gassiness, bloating and all around misery. The diet plus taking nystatin worked. Now I am fine, that was years ago, but I know how awful it is when your belly feels nasty.

OK, we are actually going out with two friends here in Vegas tonight, going to have a little dinner. Should be fun actually. They are a trip, they own the store called Unica Home...their web site..www.unicahome.com they sell incredibly cool home items, check it out...shameless plug right?:7 I am not sure whether to take today off or not...last night I did a little cardio and all of sudden got really dizzy and felt cold...even though I was sweating. I think my blood sugar bottomed out or something. Has that ever happened to you guys? I have now worked my legs three times this week, upper body twice plus a bunch of cardio so frankly, I am a little worn out this morning. Should maybe do the Yoga Bliss Hips (I got it!) this morning and then walk Georgie. BBL to catch up!

Kristi, today is your race? Go girl, go!

Lainie...hope the teeth are feeling better...

Hi to Deb, Robin, Kara, Shannon and Jennifer!:)

Hi, Melters!

Leanne - how did the body fat test go? You are NOT hiding under the pillows, are you????? :7 Did you find a dress? Hey - being single has its advantages.... I never have to worry about a DH or SO leaving messes. ;) Of course, every mess in the house is my fault, too....

Shelley - I'm glad your stomach is behaving itself. Darned thing. What Cardio Coach did you do? Are you doing more yard work today? I really want to see pictures of what you've done to the back yard!

Tneah - enjoy your dinner! Where are you going? I've had a plunge in blood sugar before, like when I've been working my patooty off all day and don't stop for lunch, and then work out. I remember I stopped by my brother's once, and all of a sudden I was so dizzy I couldn't stand, and everyone said I went totally white. They fed me cookies and I felt much better. :7

So, speaking of feeling better - I sure do now! I came home last night and did GSL, minus the calf work. All that leg work has an added benefit. I use dumbbells, and holding them down by my sides for all that time really helps to stretch my shoulders out and get rid of the tension. I slept much, much better last night.

Today I mowed, weedate, weeded the flower beds and did a lot of watering. I'm still not done watering. My calf wasn't just overly thrilled with the mowing, but it was okay. I gave it a break, then did the cardio premix to LIC and Core Max 2. I'm icing my calf, just to be safe, which is why I decided to get on the computer now.

You know, last night after GSL, I realized just exactly how much I really do enjoy working out. Okay, I've always known it, but sometimes don't you think, "gee, if I didn't work out, I'd have so much more time...." Well, who cares about that extra time? What I like to do with my time is work out!

I guess it's about time to go see the horses now. Then I need to finish watering. I guess tomorrow will be house cleaning day and hopefully watercoloring. I may stop by in the morning, when I check online for jobs. Not that I'll find anything, but still....

Okay. Hope you enjoyed the novel. :p

What a crappy day. I'm trying so hard to be up about my sister, but after our visit, all I can think is that it might be our last one. I know it's ridiculous, but I can't stop myself. Then I got home and my washer is broken. I guess it happened with the load I put on before I left. So now I have the expense of a new washer. Which means that I'm probably not going to be able to go on the Road Trip. I just can't afford it. Especially since Chris' job is in a bit of a precarious position right now.

Sorry to be such a downer.

Shelley, you are entitled, you are going through something that is a really, really hard thing and it takes its toll on you, emotionally, physically and mentally. I admire your pluck through all of this quite frankly. Crap! Can you get a guy out to fix it? Maybe its just a part, and you will not have to replace the whole machine? I know its the weekend, but maybe calling a plumber who can come out and assess the damage--just so you would know what you are dealing with price-wise?
((HUGS)) then you can proceed with the Road Trip plans. I would put your comfy clothes on, listen to some music and enjoy a glass of wine (not sure if you drink?) and just let it all go tonight.

So I am having a typical Saturday kinda, DH has been sitting outside in the shade reading all day while I ran errands. We are going to dinner around 7pm at this new southern meets New Orleans restaurant off the strip with friends--actually our only friends here in Las Vegas. Should be fun, perused the menu, don't you hate it when there is nothing you would ever order on the menu, and you are forced to make a choice anyway? Thats kinda what this menu looks like....you vegetarians would have nothing to eat at this place, and it looks like alot of it has sauces and is fried. I always ask for stuff on the side though, I don't care, I figure its my body after all right? BBL on to see how the SD gals got on today! How fun, I wish I could have gone.:-(

Hey all!

What a quiet bunch we are today! :) I just got back from lunch with the other San Diegans, and it was SOOO nice! They were all so sweet, and it was fun to talk about our Cathe and workout obsessions. It was great!

On my way down there, I stopped at a mall next to the one where we met to pick up a 20-pound kettlebell at the Sports Chalet there -- and Sarah Lurie (who does the KB workouts they sell at Target and with the Go Fit KB's!) was there teaching a demo class! I got to chat with her for a couple of minutes, which was really cool. Plus, the manager gave me a 10% discount off the 20-pound KB. Hooray!

OK, so after lunch I had my body fat testing -- and your Melty Friend Leanne is SUCH.A.LOSER. Basically, I tried five or six times, and couldn't get all the air out of my lungs, so the reading came in at 33% body fat! She told me that there was no way that that was accurate, so she didn't charge me and said to go home and practice in the bath tub (!!). Wow, I'm so lame. I think at this point that I might just spring for the DXA scan -- 5 minutes, fully clothed, and it's done. None of this holding your breath underwater and feeling like you're drowning business. So even though my body isn't 1/3 body fat, I feel like a lame person and may go hide my head under the pillows because of that.:+

Oh, Shelley -- Sending you big, huge {{{HUGS}}}! What an awful couple of weeks you've had! How were Karen's spirits today? Remember that she really will be FINE! I know how scary and awful all this is, but her doctors caught things early, and you and Sophie will be able to visit her again soon! She's going to be fine after the surgery, and you will have her in your life for many, many years to come. Please know that!! {{{HUGS}}}!!! So sorry, too, about the washer. Do you think that you'll really have to cancel the Road Trip? Would you lose your deposit? Have you already bought your plane ticket? I hope you can make it work to still go!

Shannon -- Sounds like you're having a busy day today! Yes, it's nice when all the messes are yours, huh?!;-) Hooray for your calf feeling better after last night's workout! Yes, it's good to remind ourselves that we really enjoy working out! I sometimes think, too, of how much free time I would have if I didn't spend so much time working out, worrying about working out, etc., but then I quickly realize that that's how I like to spend my free time!:) I'm glad we're doing our Month of Fun to remind us of that! :)

Tneah -- How scary about your cardio session last night! Did you end up working out today? It sounds like you need a rest! Did you end up trying Yoga Bliss Hips? Let me know how you like it. The first time I did it, I felt so silly during that segment when she has you laugh, but then I just went with the flow and tried to get over how goofy I felt. :+ I didn't take the camera to lunch, but it was fun -- it would have been great if you had been in town for it! Hope you have a wonderful, decadent dinner tonight. Their store looks so cool!

Hey Tneah, babe! Looks like we were posting at the same time. Yes, I kept thinking of you today and wishing you were there! We ended up chatting for about 2 1/2 hours, and it was really cool. It was funny, too, because we were all saying how shy we were, and Lorrayne said that Cathe is also really shy, too. Interesting, huh? Sorry that the menu for tonight looks so unhealthy. It's hard at this point to switch places, too, huh? Maybe you could see if they can do a nice fish dish for you, with some healthy grilled veggies on the side.:)

Hi, all,
This has been a long day! Today was DH's birthday, but we don't do the actual birthday challenge until the 16th & 17th. We initially had to plan around his trial schedule and the girls being gone to Colorado for church camp.

Today was just another day of training, and it did not goes as planned! Our 12 mile run went fine. It wasn't too hot, but it was humid! The bike ride, on the other hand, was a real test. First, it started raining soon after we started. We rode in fairly hard rain for several miles. I started complaining about the whole thing -- a lot! When I shut my mouth for a second, I suddenly heard a very distinct hissssss -- all the air coming out of DH's back tire! So we stopped, and DH couldn't find the hole to patch; we have foolishly procrastinated buying new tubes. So I had to ride home and get my car to go pick him up. We decided to push the rest of our training plans (swim, pushups, crunches) to tomorrow along with another 12 mile run & 21 mile bike so that we could go get bike tubes! So we did that and went out to lunch for DH's bday.

This afternoon & evening our whole familly and two of DDs' friends did a Mobile Loaves & Fishes dinner run to feed the homeless. That's the organization for which we are raising money in connection with the challenge.

Leanne -- I'm so glad that the SD gathering was fun! And I'm sorry the fat testing was lame! I'm glad the woman doing it realized it couldn't be right!!! Did you find a dress? Thanks a bunch for the dance DVD recs. I ordered 3 videos last night that I think they'll like, but I'll check these out, too. I ordered from that totalfitnessdvds.com place, and I was able to use that coupon code someone posted in the OD, so I saved even more, and I already got an email saying they shipped!

Lainie -- Hope you are feeling better!

Tneah -- I hope you had a nice dinner with friends and found some tolerable to eat. Their website looks like it has lots of cool stuff! Did you work out? How is the Yoga Bliss Hips? Today was not our actual challenge -- as I said above it's the 16th & 17th.:-( I totally understand about being worn out. Will you continue on that "work legs 3 times" rotation?

Kara -- I hope you had a nice visit with your son!

Shannon -- I'm so glad to hear you've had some good workouts and slept well! Sorry your calf is still bugging you, though. I agree with you on time spent working out -- well worth it in many respects! Did you get to watercolor? That sounds so relaxing!

Shelley -- I am sooo very sorry you had a bad day, and I am so sorry about your sister. Sending you lots of prayers and ((((HUGS))))! I sympathize about your washer. I hate those kinds of purchases. I need to replace mine; it makes lots of unnatural noises. I really hope you can go to RT; I am looking soooo forward to meeting you. I hope tomorrow feels better and more hopeful than today. You will be in my thoughts!

Hi to everyone else!

Hello Melters.

I'm checking in to say I didn't hear anything from the phone call last week. No decision will be made for awhile on it. It brought me down real fast but I have hope in our LORD that things will happen in HIS time. It took a major walk on a very long river walk/pier to clear my head. I'm very grateful for my current position and want to do well there while I'm still there. So, I have two days off from work and I plan to get stuff around here.

Thank you for your notes of encouragement and prayers.

Hi, Melters -

I need to get busy on house cleaning and some cooking, and job hunting.... but I will find time to watercolor! Probably this afternoon. Oh yeah, and the wonderful, fun workout of the day! I'm going to do the Pyramid Bonus Combo plus some abs, probably from B&G.

My weekend is going pretty well, but my poor mom is really down. She and Dad are going through some tough times. Dad should have been able to retire by now, but due to unforseen circumstances a few years back, he still has to work - at a pretty hard and physically demanding job. It hasn't been easy. Poor Mom told me yesterday that she hates her life right now. :-(

Shelley - this will NOT be your last visit with your sister. Colon cancer is one of the most treatable cancers, and hers is in the early stage. She'll make it! Hang in there, it'll get better. I'm sorry about the darned washer. That stinks. Will you have to take your laundry to a laundromat to finish up? Here's lots and lots of {{{{HUGS}}}} to you. I hope today is better! And I'm super-glad you're still enjoying your fun month!

Tneah - what did you end up ordering? YUCK! I really don't like those kinds of restaurants. I usually just end up asking for a plain baked potato, just to ease the hunger, you know?

Leanne - I'm sorry, but I had to laugh at your body fat testing experience! :p Doesn't that just figure? It sure was nice of her not to make you pay for it. Good luck with the DEXA! Sounds like you had a good time with the San Diegans!

Kristi - wow - what a mess your bike ride was! It sounds like you've got your work cut out for you today. How on earth will you do it all? I bow to you, woman. You and Todd are TOUGH!

Okay. I'm off to job hunt for a bit. See you all Monday!

Hi,

Well we got home around 11:00 last night...very long trip..We got to the airport around noon for a 2:10 flight, which did not get off the ground until after 6:00 pm! I hate travelling through Chicago! Talk about a long day for a little guy! He was the perfect gentleman though.. I am exhausted, was up around 1:00 am to 2:00 with him outside.. I don't even want to work out, although I should since the last time I did was last Sunday..

I will bb later after I have read all that I have missed!

Deb

Happy Sunday, all!

I ended up getting up at 4:30 this morning since DH was snoring and all my poking and prodding couldn't get him to stop. :-( I may need a nap later today. My new Tracey S. Strike Zone came yesterday, so I might change around my rotation so I can try it out today.

Deb -- Welcome back!! We've missed you the past couple of days. Sorry that the flight back was so long and demanding, but how great that Keegan is doing well. Did he and Kelsey get along when they first met last night? Please post some photos when you get a chance! We've all been dying to see some!:) And you should have this week off, right? Hope you don't have to finish up those reports from home.

Shannon -- Sending you {{{HUGS}}}! I'm so sorry to hear that things are so tough right now with your parents. Does it look like your dad might be able to retire in the next year or two? Will you be able to spend some time with your mom today to help cheer her up? Yes, the body fat experience was pretty funny, and I did laugh about it afterwards for sure. :+ Hope that you get some time to work on your watercolor today, and good luck with the job search!

Jennifer -- Glad that your spirits are well! We were worried since you hadn't been checking in with us. I'm sure that a new job will come through when it's the one that's meant to be for you!

Kristi -- Oh, what a day you had yesterday! That's so awful that all those mishaps occurred during your bike ride yesterday. Will it set you back a lot in your training for the upcoming challenge? I hope not! I can't believe that you're going to run and bike again so much today. It's great to hear, though, that you were able to celebrate Todd's birthday yesterday! No, I didn't find a dress and didn't really have time to look. Macy's is having a big sale on Tuesday, so I may go out shopping then. How great that that website has already shipped your new DVD's! That is extremely fast! Which ones did you order?

Hope everyone else is doing well!:)

Morning All:)

Had to take DH to the airport early, and went to bed very late so am headed back to bed but wanted to say hey to everyone.

The dinner was one of those foo-foo places where you get little bits of stuff, which was fine with me, I ordered fish, it was ok, not worth the 400 dollar dinner bill for the four us though! Then we went to another foo-foo dessert place where they serve these fancy tiny desserts, which again was great, we shared the desserts between the four of us, so I did not do much damage at all actually, was just kinda disappointed in the whole foo-foo process, if your gonna cheat, go to a place where the food is good home cookin'! I know, I do not have a sophisticated palate...our friends hang out with food critics all the time here in Vegas,so they are really into the whole thing.

Leanne, hum, thought as much...those silly underwater tests are so inaccurate, who can blow all the air out of their lungs? No one! Just glad she did not charge you...go get the DEXA done next week, then we can celebrate our results together--I get mine tested again on Friday.

Shannon, I am so sorry about your parents((hugs)) my dad is in a similar situation, ready to retire but cannot really and he has terrible arthritis which makes his physical job really, really hard on him. Plus he and my stepmom do not have the best marriage because she is a witch that spends all his money and has mental problems...but that is another story. What does the bonus combo workout entail? Sounds interesting.

Deb, yippee! You sound exhausted darlin'...please take a much needed nap today (you too Leanne) and then when you are up to it, post pics of Keegan, we are all so excited you are back!

Ok, will check back to see whats up with the rest of you lovelies later on today...I seriously need 8 hours of sleep a night or else I am so wiped, I got 5, so I am going to go nap I think. No workouts today, although I should...too tired though...might do yoga Bliss Hips or something relaxing..

Hi friends! How is everyone’s Sunday? It was so nice to spend the day with Colin yesterday! We ate out, saw Indiana Jones, and hiked to some impressive water falls. It was a good day! I didn’t enjoy saying goodbye though. Only 3 more weeks! For those of you who have seen IJ, what did you think of the alien storyline? My DH loved it, but I wasn’t so fond of it. It was OK until the spaceship began to rise and Indiana turned to Ox and said, “Where’s it going? Space?” I burst out laughing and the fam got annoyed at me. WTH?? Did I know it was going to the “space between space”? I think not! Anyway, Indiana is still cool in my book.

Shelley—Wow, the vanity you have sounds spectacular. What a great perk of your job! What does it look like? I was looking at tile Friday and was wondering about placing one row right above the backsplash. Do you think that would look alright? I know it isn’t customary, so just wasn’t sure. I am so sorry about the trials your sister has and will face. She must be an incredibly strong person, like you. Shannon is right that colon cancer is a slow growing cancer and they caught it early. She will be OK! You will be OK! (((((HUGS)))))

Leanne—Yes, we had pizza on Friday night! It was yummy! I haven’t seen The Jerk, but my DH loves it. I will have to get it! That is so cool that you met Sarah Lurie AND got a discount on the KB! AND you are NOT A LOSER!!!! It just isn’t natural to empty the lungs entirely of air, right? Why would anyone practice that? It is crazy. Don’t feel foolish!

Shannon—I am so sorry that your mom is so down. I can understand why though. I hope your parents are able to have some fun and relax together soon. Have fun with your workout!

Jennifer—Hi! Sorry about no phone call. I hope everything turns out for the best!

Deb—We have missed you! Sorry about the flight. Ugh. Can’t wait to here about Keegan!

Tneah—I love your explanation of the foo-foo dinner. I feel exactly the same way! I hope your nap is refreshing.

Kristi—Sorry about the tire problems! How did the training go today? Happy belated birthday to your DH! He sounds like a great guy.

Lainie—How are you feeling?

Well guys, I did Press Play on my bike and S&H triceps and biceps. My back/neck is still bothering me a bit, so will do back later in the week. My ankle is a little sore from the hike on uneven ground yesterday, hence the bike ride. Now I have to get lunch going and help DH replace the French doors that lead out to the deck. This could be a very long afternoon! I will check in later!

Have a good day!

Kara

Hey everyone. Well, what a weekend. I'm still in braces recovery mode. Today they seem to be a little better--not so much pain though I wouldn't say they are comfortable. I still can't eat much. Yesterday after Isaac's T-ball game we went to Burger King. I tried to eat some fries and it hurt too much. I never thought I'd see the day when I couldn't eat fries. Even when I was pregnant with Isaac and nauseated a lot, I could eat fries (unfortunately).

It's also really bloody hot here this weekend. Excuse my language, but it is really nasty. We don't have air conditioning in our old house (just some fans) so we are mainly keeping very still in front of fans. Well, the boys are not so good at keeping still, but they're drinking a lot so at least they're well-hydrated. I got Tracey Staehle's new Strike Zone workout yesterday but can't get myself to do it in this heat. Ugh. Now I remember why I was tempted to join the YMCA last year--a place to exercise with a/c.

I'm going to try to catch up on personals if possible.

Kara, I haven't seen the new Indiana Jones, yet, but I'm a big fan of those movies (just don't get out to movies much since having kids). I have heard some spoilers about the extraterrestrial elements, though, and it did kind of worry me--I tend to get annoyed when random space things are brought into a movie out of nowhere (though I actually enjoy science fiction if it's sci-fi all the way). Like in the movie Abyss I thought it was a great movie until the end, when it seems like they suddenly thought, hey, this movie's getting too long, let's end it with some alien stuff. Probably I'll give Indiana Jones the benefit of the doubt and try not to roll my eyes too much. Anyway, glad you had a good time with Colin!

Tneah, don't know if I've had much experience with the "foo-foo" kinds of places, but we don't spend much on food, DH being cheap and all. The best meal I ever had was in this hotel in France. They had two menus--you just chose which menu and they brought you course after course. Some of the courses were rather dainty, but there were at least a dozen of them. We also had no clue what we were getting since we didn't read French, but it was sooooo good. Yum. Also very good wine of course and excellent service. I never experienced French people being rude, though, like their reputation. Even the French waiters were so kind and gracious--but I've never been to a French restaurant in the U.S. where maybe they act snooty. Ah, I miss Europe sometimes. I think you should definitely take a nap if you are so tired. I am the same way about needing my beauty rest.

Leanne, I love that movie The Jerk. It's a family favorite. Very silly but fun. But trust me, I ain't going to eat pizza from a blender.... I've been having a lot of Slim-Fast shakes and stuff. Last night I had some fage with flaxseed and honey for dinner, so at least I'm trying to be healthy with my mushy foods. You are definitely NOT a loser. It sounds kind of crazy that you were supposed to empty your lungs. Weird.

Deb, so glad you have your puppy! Pictures, please!!!

Shannon, sorry for the trouble your parents are having. (((HUGS))) to the family. Good luck on your job hunt as well.

Jennifer, sorry you didn't get an answer on that phone call yet. Good luck and I'll pray for you.

Kristi, wow, I'm so impressed at the training you manage to do in Texas weather. Whew. And here I am complaining about our NY weather (though you probably at least have a/c when you come home, but on the other hand I'm not running and biking and all that like you are).

Shelley, big squishy (((((((HUGS))))))) to you. I'm so sorry you are going through so much crap--not only with your sister but with everything else. I sure hope you don't have to miss the RT this year. :(

I have to go finish baking a cake (I know, it's crazy I'm baking a cake and I can't even eat it--but it's German chocolate with coconut frosting and I hate coconut anyway).

Hey Lainie -- I'm glad that the braces are starting to feel more comfortable, but it must be bad if you couldn't even eat fries! Ug! I had braces in junior high, and my orthodontist was right next to a delicious bagel place. On the way home from every appointment, right after getting my braces tightened, my mom always stopped and bought these delicious, warm bagels -- and I could never eat any. :-( Hopefully in a couple of days your teeth will hurt less and you'll be able to get back to normal eating. Yes, _The Jerk_ is one of our favorite movies, too! I love Steve Martin. Hope that the heat cools down soon! I did Strike Zone today and really liked it, but some other folks mentioned that they didn't like it as much. It definitely didn't get me dripping with sweat like KPC, KM, or one of Amy B's KB workouts, but it was still fun. It might be a good one to try out once you feel back to working out since it's not super intense.

Kara -- Glad you had a great time with Colin yesterday! Is he doing better there and feeling less pressured to get perfect grades? It must have been so hard for all of you to leave him there, but he'll be home soon. I've been really wanting to go see the new IJ movie, but my DH said he'd rather just wait for it to come out on video.:-( Yes, it was so cool to chat with Sarah Lurie for a few minutes! I kept thinking that I had to tell you!

Tneah -- Yikes about that restaurant bill! At least you were able to find some healthy food and a dessert that didn't too much damage. One of DH's graduating seniors just gave him a $75 gift card to a local restaurant, but I just checked out the menu and it's all this meaty food that neither one of us eat.:-( We have play tickets on Sunday night, so we might go anyways since we have so much to spend there. Of course, the dessert menu looked completely scrumptious!}( If you like home cooking, there's this wonderful restaurant in Hillcrest called Hash House a Go Go that has fabulous foods. They got voted Best Breakfast Place in San Diego, but all of their meals are yummy. If you and DH feel like a treat when you're back in town (or you and I could meet there, but we certainly couldn't do it if we wanted to be healthy!), I think you'd really like it there. Here's the link: http://www.hashhouseagogo.com/. How long will DH be gone for? I hope it's a fast trip since I know you don't like him to be gone for long. Hooray for getting your BF tested again next Friday! I called the place here that does the DXA scans and left a message yesterday, but they're only open on Thursdays and Fridays (seems weird!), so it will probably take a few weeks for them to get back to me and for me to get an appointment. Hope you get that nap in today, you poor sleepy thing!

DH just left to go meet with his gamers' group all day, so I'm off to do some more beading.:)

Hey again, Tneah -- I just noticed that the Hash House restaurant has a location in Vegas now! Have you been there? OK, you have to try it if you like homecooked-style foods. It's soooo good!:9
