Week to Week 12/14/20-12/20/20

Happy Monday, everyone! Today was Perfect30 Perfect Flow Mobility. I'm amazed that only doing this once a week, each time gets a little better. :) I hope Cathe makes more workouts with this type of focus.

Hi All,

Today was: KY 15m & Essentrics Body Sculpting Series 1: AB Flattening & Waist Shaping 30m

Carol: Thanks for your thoughts yesterday. They helped. :) You mentioned working on balance. I’m working on balance too. I’m working it from the inside out so I don’t fall back into the bad postural habits that led to my injuries.
JennieBean: Hope your back is healing.
Sherri: Hope life isn’t too crazy.
Lisa: Self care is a beautiful thing.
Geoff: Our 4 JR “Terrors” send Cooper their regards.

A good send off of the week to all!

Hi all!
Yesterday was Boot Camp Circuit and MM biceps. Today was Low Impact Sweat Cardio 2 and MM back. I gotta say, no fair with back day following bicep day! I may work in a spin day in between these in the future, since biceps are recruited heavily for both! I almost skipped today because I forgot to set my alarm for the right time last night but I took an early lunch and got it in. Happy I did!

I'm pretty proud of myself. I've never done this many videos (and certainly no Cathe ones) on consecutive days before! I did a full 6 days of Cathe last week! I've done other workouts in between, usually. I gotta say, my chest and arms are on fire lol. I may want to go lighter on these MMs for a while.

Have a great night, everyone!

Carol: I hear you loud and clear on needing to minimize exposure to 2020 triggers, and I wanted to point out that it's fitting how you mentioned this in the same paragraph with needing to work on balance. Emotional balance has been a theme for me since early this year, ironically a couple of months before covid hit the northeast US. I found myself suddenly dealing with severe anxiety (palpitations and panic attacks) and it took months to get it under control. Since then I've realized how unbalanced my life was. In many ways the pandemic helped me find balance, because I had to slow down. And I had to be more mindful of what I watched/read/dwelled on, because 2020 sure came with plenty of fodder for anxiety. Anyway, that's the Reader's Digest version of this year's extremely rough patch and eventual return to exercise (the palpitations made me terrified to raise my heart rate). I'm so grateful to be able to work out hard again, which helps me manage the anxiety and find balance, and excited to have gotten so into Cathe's stuff. Also glad to have connected with you all! May we all find balance, physical and emotional!

Hi Ladies,

Yesterday, was Firm Volume 1 and today was the first half of Margret Richard Hight Voltage. Wanted to do the entire workout but I got home late and was dead tired :( Cathe calendar got shipped today and plan to do a Cathe workout tomorrow.

Lannette: Cooper, say's thanks :)

Geoff & Cooper

Hi all

Today was STS Total Body and yoga, It’s been a LONG time since I have done that workout :)

I hear all of you on the emotional toll this year has taken on us. Living in NJ we have been hit particularly hard with Covid cases. Not only have we seen way too many folks die, we have many many out of work, losing income due to home schooling kids, etc. My husband and I are extremely grateful that we have not been severely impacted. Now that the vaccine is here hopefully 2021 will be a little better. At least there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Have a great day.

Hi everyone!
Today was KY 15m & The Foam Roller Fitness WO. 32m The WO is an hour long but I only did the first hour. My core is fried but I’m definitely getting stronger & more balanced so the torture is worth it!

Have a great day everyone. I need to run as I’m short on time.

Hi all!
Today I did Rock'm Sock'm plus triceps per the level 2 rotation. I've now done this one twice and I'm not sure I'll do it again (the kickboxing part). I've never really enjoyed kickboxing, and am missing my Step Boss workouts. I think when this one comes up on the rotation I'll swap in IMAX4 or Step Sync. Love those!!

Jacmar, I'm in CT and I totally hear you on the toll covid has taken up here, on both lives and livelihoods. Hubs and I both are so lucky to have jobs that didn't change much (I was already a telecommuter for UnitedHealth Care, and he just moved home, probably for good). There is always so much to be grateful for if we pay attention.

Hi everyone,

I just had no desire to do any dvd or streaming workouts. Ugh!! So I watched The High Chapparal and did my own full body weight workout at the same time. It was surprisingly pleasant.

Waves to you all!

Did the upper body section from this Classic Cathe Workout!! Arms feel like jello right now, and I had a hyper Cooper watching me workout!

Good morning! Yoga is planned today. Yesterday I ended up not working out because I saw my primary care doc for the off and on dizziness issues I've been having for a month now. I've been referred to a vestibular specialist, and hope to see him Friday. Right now, though, I feel much better. :)

I honestly think between the pandemic and politics, a lot of us are suffering right now. Maybe not physically, but emotionally and mentally. We are exhausted. No matter what your beliefs are about either COVID or the current political situations, it's taxing on us. I'm afraid to go out, even with a mask. I'm afraid not to go out, because I feel so isolated, especially working from home. I'm afraid for my husband who is still working in a hospital, even though he isn't doing direct patient care at this current job. I'm afraid for my daughter who does work with the public every day, even though Starbucks put precautions in place early on, and have maintained them throughout all their stores.

Mostly I'm just fearful for our country and the way all of this has changed us. I'm fearful when I read about health care professionals pooh-poohing this pandemic. Those are in the minority at least, but people trust them. They will listen to them before they'll listen to strangers on TV or the Internet. I've been a nurse for 34 years and my husband has been one for 33. We both have always felt we have a higher duty, not only to make sure we educate people, but to set good examples in terms of healthcare. I've been naive enough to believe all health care practitioners feel the same way. I've found out over the course of this year I was very wrong. That makes me both sad and angry.

As for politics, well, suffice it to say that when I read about groups who are calling for secession and violence, it scares the heck out of me. Um, we did the seccession stuff once. It didn't turn out well. I just don't know. People on the whole seem to have become less interested in national unity, and more interested in getting what they want, at any cost. And the Internet has spawned so many sites that exist only to perpetuate half-truths, outright lies, and anti-everything lifestyles. Of course, when you have a national leader who also encourages all that...

I'm sure all of us here recall the days and weeks following 9/11. The country felt unified. People shared Lee Greenwood's song all over the Internet. They put out their flags. They were kind to each other. We were outraged by the attack, and came together as a people. I wish we had all done that over this pandemic as well. How I wish that. But that's not what happened. Not even close.

Well anyway, I'm off to get ready for my day. I'm hoping and praying I feel this good in a few hours so I can sneak in one of Cathe's yoga workouts. Thanks for listening. I love this group. :)

Wednesday

Please note Carol’s post above. (I’ll respond later.) She posted before I was able to set the place marker for the day.

Question: Does anyone use these place markers to scan posts? Should I keep setting them? It’s no problem but if anyone finds them irritating or if they aren’t being used I can Stop.

Hi all

Lanette: I do not use the place markers. I think as long as we keep the weekly thread that is fine with me. Thank you for always getting us set up!

Carol: I could not agree with you more on ALL of your points. You said it much more eloquently then I could. The last four years have put this county in a dark place. The so called leadership has been filled with racism, misogyny and overall hate. At times they have been down right reckless with their behaviors especially with the virus. I have so much hope for our new team :)

Today was CL LI Hiit 40/20 and yoga

Hello to Sherri, Geoff and Jennie Bean.

Have a great day.

Hello everyone,

Today was: KY 15m & Essentrics Total Body Sculpting Series 1: Ultimate Leg Sculptor 30m

I’m amazed at how the Combo of KY, Essentrics & Roller exercise (as opposed to feel good rolling) has hit ever muscle large but more importantly small in my body. I’m not terribly sore but as I move through my day I keep discovering “new” muscles.

Sherri: During December I’ve been putting on music I love and a repeating 1m timer and doing my own KY segment. I’ve also found this approach to be really enjoyable.

Lisa: Thanks for weighing in on the daily place sets. I agree with you.

Carol: Very well said and I also agree. The weight of ongoing events in our Country is a sneaky stressor.

Hello to Geoff & JennieBean - Cooper too!
A good day to all!

I'm sorry! I posted very early in the morning. I hope it didn't mess anyone up.
