Morning All

Just starting us off. I couldn't see any thread but not completely certain with this new format.

DS is fighting a cold so hoping I don't get a phone call from pre-school to say come and pick him up.

Have Legs & Back X on tap for today I think along with a 9:45 BB game.

BBL.

Hi Ladies,

Today is another busy day! I have to go to school (details below), teach Phil how to color my hair, and do some cardio. Any suggestions? I'm thinking of a step workout. Paul, my PT, says I can do yoga now.

My class elected --scratch that-- volunteered/forced/threathened me to be the class liason. What does that mean? Well, once a month I meet with the president of the school, two other school administrators, and representatives from the other classes. I deliver any grudges or outrageous desires my classmates may have. Apparently, my fellow classmates have this crazy notion that I have a BIG MOUTH, and I'm not afraid to tell you what I think! I wonder why?!?!?!

Yesterday my PT was so HAPPY with my progress. He was able to gently stretch my arm further. I asked him if he thinks that I have frozen shoulder. He thinks that I have the beginnings of a partial frozen shoulder. Okay, whatever. If I do have it. It's most likely from overuse. Tracy did warn me from doing pull-ups and chin-ups everytime I walk under the pull-up bar. UGH!!!!

I don't know what to make of PT. I've read conflicting reports about PT working for frozen shoulder. Some say that it will resolve on its own without PT. Some say that PT doesn't make a difference. It only adds more pain during the healing progress. Some say that push and rest worked for them. etc.... I'm going to continue with PT though.

Onto other news.... We massaged for an hour and a half each last night and skipped anatomy. Our teacher had a death in the family and will be out this week. Our substitute teacher didn't want to cover anatomy. So, whoever is teaching Friday night is going to double up on anatomy and skip massage techniques. :(

My partner is a doll. I'm going to give her my extra copy of PY4H2 dvd. She's a young thing and so sweet. She even got the teacher to teach her how to use her elbow on my back because I like it deep and hard!

This is going to be difficult to reply to yesterday's posts without opening another window. I'll try my best.

Nicole: Hello sweetie. Happy Birthday to you!!!

Tracy: Yes, I will post pictures. I spent a lot of money on color and conditioner. However, the color can be used for up to 3 months after I open a tube. So, touch-ups will not be a problem. And, the conditioner I purchased was expensive. I hope it works as good as everyone claims. If you are serious about coloring your own hair with professional coloring products, check out Killerstrands. She has a consult offer... You pay $25 for the consult. That money goes towards anything you buy. It's basically to make sure if she devotes the time to help you with choosing what to buy, you will buy it from her. I'll find the link for you in a bit.

Kim: What a sweet dh to help motivate you with doing X+ workouts with you!! BTW, I love your new avatar!!!

Debra: I have no fear that my color will turn out orange, blue or red. :p Ignorance is bliss!:D Really, I had an online hair consult with the seller/owner of Killerstrands before I purchased the hair color.

Patricia: Doesn't the other parents get pissed when sick children show up at preschool? Or are all the children walk around with runny noses like at 99% of preschools. LOL Hope your baby feels better soon!!!!

Okay ladies, did I miss anyone?

Off to play a little.

Kisses

hi again

Hi all,

Wendy - What is frozen shoulder? All I can say is that after looking at some basic anatomy and having a few issues with my hip, those ball and socket joints really need to be taken care of. They are so complex and have so many movement patterns. The minute I feel anything wierd in either joint I stop now. I'll check out the Killerstrands. I'm about to go pay 200 for color and cut on Thursday. Maybe I can do something different for next time.

Patricia - I hope the little one gets better. Nothing worse than sick kids.

I'm free from the x+ for a day. It's probably yoga or something, but I'll run instead. I've definitely gotten 10% stronger and improved my endurance. I picked up C&B, and S&arms above where I left off and with more reps, plus, I'm not any bigger size wise, which is a good thing. I guess you don't have to lift heavy to improve your strength.

It's time to leave work. I'm struggling to stay focused these days.

Tracy

Hi all!! Just getting by for a quick hello. I had one or two too many glasses of wine last night and haven't felt my best today....of course, it is my own fault! Anyhoo, the diva had a playdate at the pool with one of her school friends, so the friend's mom just picked her up and I had a couple of minutes to say hello before vegging in front of the TV for a while.

I ended up running (yes, actual running!) for 30 minutes yesterday on the treadmill and then I did the upper body only portion of SS. It has been so long since I lifted, I could really tell a major drop in strength...but my endurance was pretty good. I have a few DOMS which is nice for a change. No time for a workout today, but I should be back on track tomorrow.

a few personals from today...

Tracy....
Nice to see you around some more! I have no patience doing my own hair, so there is no way I would ever color mine at home...although I will say, it only costs me about $100 every 8-10 weeks which isn't too awful. That is great that you are seeing such strength improvements!!

Wendy...
What a surprise that you would be elected to be the big mouth of the massage group...LOL!! I am sue you will do a fine job of representing your class! What exactly is a 'frozen' shoulder?? I can't believe your sub last night didn't want to teach anatomy...Aren't they being paid to teach you?? I am sure with Phil at the helm you hair will turn out perfect...I am sure he would be very afraid if it didn't...LOL!

Patricia...
How is the X going so far?? What do you think? I am sorry to hear you little one is sickly...They get everything at that age!! I will say, though, that now my DD rarely gets anything...I think her immunities finally built up!

Okay...I must run and feed the diva....for some reason she is hungry...I can't imagine why...She only jumped in and out of the pool about 1000 times in an hour...Crazy child.

Hope everyone has a great evening...I will bbl to chat some more...

Good Evening All

Just finished up Legs & Back X plus AB ripper X. I'm starving so will be quick.

DS had a fever when I picked him up from pre-school so I'll be home tomorrow with him. Have BB tonight at 9:45 so hopefully will be able to sleep in then tomorrow.

Good to see everyone making there way here but we're all busy these days.

Surprisingly, I'm enjoying the X for those who have asked. Time actually goes by quite fast.

Wendy - don't know that I would let Brent touch my hair but you go girl!

Debra - from the sounds of it I think you need to take it slow. Isn't it amazing how quick we seem to lose our progress but at least our bodies remember and gain all our endurance/strength back quickly. I too wasn't surprised that Wendy was nominated as the class speaker;)

Tracy -hmm, a rest day and you run? NOT:rolleyes:

Okay, off to get some supper.

Kim...
I heard from Jeanette the other day on email, so she is fine...she just hasn't gotten her password yet, so she can't log on...and I don't think she has another email address to make a new name like I did.

Back in a minute...gotta put the diva to bed!

Okay...back again to say good night....

Kim...
I just read your post from last night...Laurie is having the same problems as Jeanette as far as passwords are concerned. So sweet of your hubby to workout with you last night...That is certainly a great motivator!!

Patricia...
Hope your bb game goes well tonight. Good for you for doing YogaX last night...I would have much rather had a quickie with Eoin...LOL! :p Sorry DS is under the weather. But at least you get to sleep in a bit! It shouldn't take me too long working out on a regular schedule to catch up on my strength. With all of my injuries lately, it has been really hard for me to keep up with a rotation. I am going to take it easy on my lower body and concentrate on upper, yoga are cardio. Hopefully that will work!

Nicole....
So nice to see you around a bit!! Happy birthday a few days early! and have some ColdStone for me too:)!

UGH! Lost a post. Hate typing on my laptop at times!!!

I finished blowdrying my hair around 2 AM. LOVE it!!! Phil has got to hang the wall mounted mirror ASAP. Our marriage can't handle another hair color!!!

I was told the meeting was at 3. Here, it was scheduled for 5! I had enough time to drive home, get something to eat, wash dishes, and drive back to the school for the 5 o'clock meeting. The meeting lasted well over an hour. But, I did slip in an extra, personal request. The ladies will be getting a feminine hygene product machine installed in the bathrooms. When you're naked or in your undies around 20+ people, things like that are important.:D

I was all set to speed home when the clinic director asked if I wanted a free massage. A client canceled their appointment, and the student needed a body. I was all to happy to produce mine.:)

So, I didn't get home till after 8 o'clock. No cardio for me tonight --err last night.

Debra: ^^5^^ Running!!! Check you out! Very proud of you!!! You'll get back on track with strength before you know it. While you're working on your upper half, I'll be getting back on track with my lower, mushy half. You should have seen Phil tonight!!! He is scared of me!!!! The emergency sub doesn't think he's as good with anatomy as he is with helping us find the muscles and bony landmarks. I think he just prefers teaching massage rather than boring anatomy. Frozen shoulder... I think from my limited googling... It's when the fibrous capsule that surrounds the glenohumeral joint (the joint that connects the humeral to the scapula) forms scar tissue. Don't quote me on that though.

Patricia: Poor thing! Do you think it's just a viral infection? Hopefully, you both will be able to sleep in. Will his sickness delay your potty training efforts? How are you liking the X so far? I don't mind Phil touching my hair. He once highlighted my hair when we were dating. LOL

Kim: Laurie and Jeanette are waiting for their passwords. I should tell them to get a free yahoo email account and register here with a new user name until SNM fixes their email format.

Tracy: Look up to my personal to Debra for an explanation of frozen shoulder. It's a use it or lose it thing. However, I HAVE been using it. But, I think my problem is getting my shoulder over-inflammed. My PT told me there's a fine line with inflammation and stretching/strengthening. I don't know. I do know that my joint is very inflammed at the rear delt area and middle "button" area. Also, it's very, very easy to follow the path of least resistance. I have to concentrate on moving my arm in the tight areas during flexion moves in order to stretch out that fibrous capsule. You're very smart to listen and respond to your joints. They're nothing to mess around with!!! Oh! Yes. Check out Killerstrands. The consultation information is located on the right hand side of the blog. I'm planning on buying bleach and toner to add ribbons of lighter shades (highlights). I love the products they sell. I usually spend $120 at the salon every 4 weeks. I spent ~$50 on 4 tubes of color plus developer through Killerstrands. I mix all those colors at once. 4NN is a base color that covers my gray, 4N is another base color, 5A (level 5 ash) is mixed for the desired level, and 4 Nordic Brown is a semi-permanent to cut the red tone. I used ~ a third of the color tonight. I'll have plenty for touch ups over the next few months. Congrats on the improved strength without bulk!!! I can't wait to join you with the weights!!!! Not so much with the running though. I should run. What's that saying... If you don't like it, it's something you should do. LOL

Jeanette and Laurie: Get thee a free yahoo account and sign up for a new user name until SNM fixes their spamy emails.

I'm getting some sleep.

Sweet Dreams!
Wendy

Almost forgot.

Tracy: When you get your consult at Killerstrands, she'll be able to tell you which color(s) to buy to achieve your desired results. You'll have to be able to tell her the following:

What level you are currently. Do you have color in your hair?
What your natural level is. Do you have any gray? What % of gray?
What level and tone you'd like to achieve. Your target color.

You might also want to tell her your hair background... Shampoos (SLS free), styling products, well water, chlorine water, if your hair pulls a certain tone, if your hair is porous (holds water, doesn't hold color), if your hair is coarse, normal or fine, if your hair is dense or thin, if your gray is resistant, etc... The more you can tell her, the better she'll be able to recommend what you'll need to get what you want.

I also took pictures of my hair before and after I got it professionally colored. That way she was able to see what my roots (natural hair) looked like and the color I wanted.

The link to the blog is:
http://killerstrands.blogspot.com/

She's also offering an additional 15% discount on products ordered after the initial consult.
