Hi everyone,
Got up this morning, did a GS Chest & Triceps superset premix, then did the abs and planks from SJP. After that, did some housework and helped DH with more shoveling and leveling. We're now to the point of spreading gravel and leveling that. Shouldn't be too much more before we're ready to add the sand and then pavers. It's just been so darned hard to work in the heat of the late afternoons. Sun is just cooking on that side of the house. After we knocked off about 3, I showered and we watched NASCAR (still watching it thanks to DVR). DH and I went to the golf course where I had a terrible round. After we were done, I went to the driving range and was struggling there too. DH came over and proceeded to try to help me. I went along with it because I wanted him to actually hold a golf club and see how hard it was. Of course, he set the ball down on the mat, swung the club in a very beginnerish way and hit the ball out of the park!!! I'm telling you, it sailed!!! Of course, I praised him lavishly. After he repeated that numerous times, I told him to take my driver (which I don't ever use because I'm a klutz with it). He then proceeds to knock it so far out I can't even follow it. All with this little beginner non-swing thing that a 4th grade non-athletic person would do. I'm amazed!! Then he starts telling me that I need to line up the little arrow on the driver with the ball. Of course, I'm thinking of all this stuff the golf pro told me, but hey, I'm just glad he's participating. I try it his way and voila! I hit it way out there and put it in the air, something I've been struggling with on the driver! Over and over and over again. By this time, he's acting like Arnold Palmer. Like he's been playing and teaching for years...
Anyhows, I ended up a happy camper. Who knew?
Patricia, congrats on winning yet another game! You guys are unbeatable. Have you been playing together as a team for a long time? Same players year after year? Good thing we don't have to rely on our gold diggings to be sure we have food on the table. Guess I will go in to work tomorrow. Go check those lotto numbers. You may be a millionaire right now!
Kim, finally cooling down a bit here. This week will be in the 80's I think. Nice. How hot in Fahrenheit is 32C? Keep that sunscreen close at hand. Can't believe I never used sunscreen until about 8 years ago. Dummy me. The volunteer at the prison will be missed. He sure gave a lot to help those inmates with their faith. He was also a mentor to our Protestant Chaplain (according to the PC). Brought him back to a child like faith again and away from all the theology and legalistic stuff. Kim, I call MIC "the Flight of the Bumblebee". It just seems so frantic to me (the hi-lo fiddle music part).
Debra, bet you looked smashing at the shower! Hey, you've worked for it! I really was so frustrated at one point, I could see myself breaking my club over my knee! I even drank some of DH's beer to see if it would relax me. I was just too uptight. Of course, one lesson with my in-home pro and I'm a star again LOL! How were the skishkabobs? Does the Tick like your Mom too? Debra, I see where others have written re: the 1rpm that they are overwhelmed because they don't know the names of the exercises. I'm kind of the same way too. I just need to start and do the ones that I do know.
Wendy, re: the glute issue, it really doesn't feel like a glute thing at all, it's above the glutes in the low back. The relief position on the bike would be to not be bent forward, but to sit straight up. My feet would be just flat on the pedal and pointed straight ahead. The relief is immediate when I do that. I don't have a problem when just riding normally, or for short climbs, it's just the long climbs. Even on the 56 miles yesterday, it never bothered me because there were no long climbs. This morning I got up and was very stiff and sore. After doing my workout, I took some extra time and did some hamstring stretches, childs pose, laying on my back and twisting to either side with my legs, pigeon, glute stretches. Anyway, I never had any more soreness or stiffness today that I can think of so something helped stretch that area out. Tomorrow is Monday and I'll probably do a short golf workout DVD that I've not done before, plus some stretching. I don't think the golf has anything to do with it, it's the cycling and tightness (hamstrings?) it causes I'm pretty sure. Which MyChelle products did you purchase for your birthday?
Happy Birthday, Sandra!! Hope you had a great day today! Miss you.
Night all,
