Walter Cronkite dead

Well, another celeb has just died.
Walter Cronkite was 92, so at least he had a full life.
And what a life it was: covering Kennedy's assassination, the first mission to the moon, and always trying to be fair and impartial, reporting the news rather than giving his opinion (and isn't that what the news is supposed to do?)

And that's the way it is...

Prayers & condolences to the family. I remember growing up listening to him when my parents watched the news.

When news was fair and impartial,not screaming tabloid nonsense like Fox, nor over coverage on Natalie Holloway like CNN....

Now, this is someone who really deserves a week-long tribute.How sad. Really, that era ended a long time ago, but his passing just brings it closer to home.

And that's the way it is (whether we like it or not). RIP, Mr. Cronkite.

His intelligence, humility and objectivity put him head and shoulders above anyone else in the news business. He epitomized the best in journalism. He supported information and facts rather than controversy and sound bites.

I can't think of a single news "personality" who couldn't learn a LOT from him. RIP.

I heard last night as I was watching the 5:30 news. How sad. He lived a full life.

I remember watching him report the news as a child. Wish other news anchors would show a human factor side when reporting news....

May he and his wife RIP.

What a fortunate man, and how fortunate we were to have him. We should all have such long, well-lived lives as Walter Cronkite had! His is a life to be celebrated.
