Victorias Secret "Simply Bronze"

DON'T BUY THIS STUFF! That's my first impression...anyway!

I'll try anything before getting into a tanning booth! This stuff is rubbing off on everything! It is a lotion, so it washes off after one use.

I had a hell of a time getting it on evenly and failed miserably on my upper back...which just looks dirty! If I go outside and perspire even a little, this stuff is going to run every where!

Where it is even, it looks great but my hands are pale (I'm a chronic hand washer). I am curious to see what it is doing to the back of my legs as I sit here!

Not to mention...I feel kind of "sticky".

Save you $10.00!

RE: Victorias Secret

I bought it and I liked it! I just used it on my legs once in shorts and on my arms under a camisole top with a suit. I applied it little by little and not in one big glob. Otherwise, I bet you woudl look dirty! Now, I wasn't in a temperature when I was sweating so I can't speak to that.

RE: Victorias Secret

You know there is a difference between a bronzer and a self-tanner, right?

Marla

RE: Victorias Secret

Yes, this is not a self tanner. This stuff comes off very easily...too easily!

I had to wash it off...I am now as pale as I was when I woke up this morning! My clothes are washing!

Maybe I used too much...ah....maybe it is because I used my regular lotion first!!!! I bet that is what I did wrong! I will try again tomorrow! I may be eating my words...I hope so...better than eating $10.00!!!

I'll let you know!

RE: Victorias Secret

maybe it is because I used my >regular lotion first!!!!

Yes, the gal at VS told me that I should not use anything else first.

RE: Victorias Secret

I think I can top you in the sh@t for brains catagory. Last weekend my tanner was wearing off so I was really splochy!! (sp) Well, anyway I get out of the shower and I look as if I have a very bad disease. I get back in scrub some more and when I get out not only do I have a bad tanner disease it now has turned brown and red. So what am I to do. Normally I would let in fade off but last weekend was mother's day so family and friends were coming for a picnic. I had this Sally Hansen spray on tan for your legs. Usaully I just put that on my feet. Well I decided to spray my entire body with this teeny tiny can. I got half of upper body done and started to see that now I was multi tonal. So I sprayed more. Then , Can you guess. I ran out. So in this gas chamber fog I created in my bathroom I jump back into the shower and rinse all this brown crap down the drain. Needless to say I wore a long sleeve shirt that day. Now that is sh@t for brains. Between you and I we could win awards for this stuff. Karen

RE: Victorias Secret

Oh Karen! That is so funny! For me, anyway!:7 :7 :7

I am fortunate enough to know I am a sh@t for brains...that is why I chose to "play" with my bronzer on a day when I didn't need to be anywhere!

Good thing I picked up all the toys out of the yard before the rain started pouring! I'd look like I was melting...melting mud!LOL!!!

RE: Victorias Secret

When I read your thread it made me think of the swirling brown coloring just pouring off of me going down the drain. Probably six dollars literaly down the drain. I forgot to mention in the middle of my episode my husband walks in on me (and mind you what I looked like) and he says ARE YOU ALMOST READY? I'm sure you can guess what I said. Karen

RE: Victorias Secret

Karen, You have melaughing so hard! I can SO relate? Did you tell your husband that "No, I'm not ready...I still have to dry totally naked for 30 minutes before I am aloud to get dressed"!

RE: Victorias Secret

I agree. The stuff sucks(excuse my French) ...but it is awful!!! I used only a little and without moisturizer. It has stained the seats in my car and my clothing. I don't recommend buying it.

RE: Victorias Secret

Sarah, if you have an Avon lady by you, get their Self-Tanning lotion in medium/dark. Its the best I've ever used, dries quick and lasts days after your first three appliations. I only have to reapply every 2 or 3 days. Its awesome! You can also order from www.avon.com.

RE: Victorias Secret

Yeah, Sarah, I have to agree. Go for the self-tanner route instead. If I'm not mistaken, the bronzer is more like body makeup. That's why is rubs off on everything & slides off in humidity. Plus, I cringe to what a bronzer does to my bed sheets!

RE: Victorias Secret

Sarah, let me tell you about 2 awesome products. Olay and Jergens both make a daily lotion that has some self tanner in it. You use it everyday and you don't have to be really careful, and wash your hands, etc. It builds up slowly over time. I have the Olay, and I love it. I think it is called Olay Quench Radiance Reviver. I have a nice bronze going on, I mostly hit my legs. My arms have some sun on them from running.

If you have self tanner, you can mix it with moisturizer and get the same effect.

Lori

RE: Victorias Secret

Olay makes some great stuff from what I've been reading on here. I'm going to give that a try.

Has anyone tried a self tanner called Fake Bake? I just bought it today but haven't tried it yet. You put it on at night before bed and then wash it off in the morning.

~Tracy~

RE: Victorias Secret

Fake Bake is nasty stuff. You have to wear gloves to put it on because it stains the hands really bad. Plus it really smells bad. Unless they have changed it in the last two years, I wouldn't waste my money on it.

RE: Victorias Secret

Yikes...I got 2 tubes of this Victoria Secret stuff and haven't used it yet...sounds like I don't want to!! What a drag!!! :((

RE: Victorias Secret

Terry, Don't fret, you may love it! I tried it again yesterday on clean skin (no lotion after my shower) and it worked so much better! It takes practice, which I will not do. I had no luck with my back, that was a mess. I had trouble getting it even.

If you are more patient than me (it wouldn't take much) then this stuff is o.k. I won't use it because for me, it was too much work to get it even and I wound up washing it off.

RE: Victorias Secret

Hey Nurse... does the olay stuff have that same funky smell of self tanners? I have the Jergen's and love how easy it is to apply and it is mistake proof, but it still has that "lingering" self tanner smell..

RE: Victorias Secret

Thanks, Sarah, I'll have to give it a whirl and see what I think...don't like the idea of it coming off all over clothes though...that sucks! lol
