Using only 1mesocycle

I have just finished my 2nd time through with STS and I found both times that with meso 2 I have noticed the biggest improvement.

So, now that I probably won´t do the whole thing for a while, does it make sense for me to incorporate only meso 2 into my workouts?

Sure! Mixing and matching workouts is what I like to do best, ;)! I don't see any harm in doing Meso 2 within any particular rotation you devise---they are great workouts! I say GO FOR IT!

Though there is nothing wrong with doing just one mesocycle, you will not get the same results as doing all three. The quickest way to hit a plateau is to always do the same thing. Your body changes the most when it is challenged by something different. By doing just mesocycle 2 you may see better results in the short term, but in the long term you will get better results by doing all three mesocycles. This is because your body will constantly be exposed to different weight and rep patterns and will continually try to adapt to meet these new challenges when you do all three mesocycles. On the other hand, if you do just mesocycle two your body will eventually adapt to the routine and your results will start to suffer.

Periodization routines like STS work because they maximize one of the most important principles in weight training - "Muscle Confusion". This is something STS does better than any other workout program or DVD on the market today.
