Update on Belinda, bayerngirl

Holy crap! I'm glad those people finally figured out what was wrong and I'm glad you're recovering, at last. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

(Warning: this may be too gross for some) But I'm very interested in this because I had sinus surgery about 6 months ago (I think, I'm bad with time and my memory stinks) and I only recently stopped blowing out huge leathery scabs, usually from my left nostril. I recently got another crazy sinus infection and, this time, my doctor put me on heavy duty antibiotics, since it turned into pneumonia the last time it happened. I just realized I haven't blown out a leathery scab since I finished the pills about a week ago so, hopefully, everything's under control now... I'll be paying close attention for the next several weeks but this is the longest I've gone without any signs of trouble since I had my surgery. Really, every day I'd be blowing, blowing, blowing hard because I could feel something wanting to come out. And once it finally did it would be a huge, hard mass. It was awful but not like what you've experienced.

(((hugs))) to you Belinda! Glad it was taken care of and that you are on the mend! Hope you're feeling all better soon! Don't worry about the workouts...they will be there when you're ready!

You might want to ask Cathe what you should do when you're back to working out...you might not have to start the whole 6 month rotation over again. I seem to remember someone else asking her a question about starting STS up again after a break.

Hi Belinda,

I didn't realize how serious it had become. Sending you lots of wishes for a speedy recovery. We can't wait till you can start checking in again:)

Stacey, I had to laugh when I read this. NOT because of your condition...never. But your description was hilarious.

DH and I are used to discussing all kinds of gross things and usually do so over dinner. We forget other people don't normally come across this stuff in their line of work and are therefore sometimes turned off by what to us seems like everyday conversation. We wouldn't have blinked at "huge leathery scabs," but I can just see the faces of extended family and friends turning green. :D

May you continue to heal. :)

{{{{{Belinda}}}}} What a story!! I'm glad you're on the road to recovery...I hope it's short and all downhill. :)

Hello there Belinda and Darieus.

So glad that you are doing better. What an ordeal for you. Your DH is such a great guy to post your recovery to us all. We have all been worried about you.

Hope to see you back soon,
Heidi

Stacy, sorry I haven't been on the boards for awhile.I hope you continue to get better! I still have a lot of headaches; I am still bleeding through my left nostril and throat. My throat and headache are killing me. At night, my nose still gets stuffed/blocked! Maybe I stopped taking the pain killers too soon? I started taking them again today, I feel like my head is gonna explode. I wake up with a giant headache. My doctor strongly advised me not to run or do high impact stuff/ heavy weight lifting. When did you start working out after surgery? What kind of workout did you do, and for how long? My plan for next week is taking walks and start doing Cathe tubing/band workouts (see how that goes), I have way to much pressure in my head/nose I couldn’t pick up my weights even if I wanted too, so light weight lifting is out of the question!

Jodi, I did ask Cathe a few weeks ago, but she is so busy these day’s. Do you remember if the question was asked in the Ask Cathe forum? I searched the forums about sinus surgeries, but couldn’t come up with any answers.

Thanks everyone for your kind words!

Take care,

Belinda, I can't seem to find it now. I don't think it was someone who had had sinus surgery though. I think she had had an injury and had to rest during STS and she'd asked Cathe if she should start over again with Meso 1. I will keep looking for it and post a link if I find it.

Hope you're feeling better soon! Definitely don't try to do too much too soon. Your workouts will be waiting for you when you're up to it! (((hugs)))

Thanks Jodi! I am taking it easy! DH and I taking the dogs for walks. Like I said, I still have a lot of swelling!:( My last workout was March 28,(CCPP) according to my calendar., I was getting sick after that. That infection is hanging around for a ery long time! (((HUGS))))

Belinda, I hope you feel better and everything clears up soon. Hugs to you!!

I'm hoping to start STS again June 1 - if everything goes according to my plan. maybe we can start together.
