Underwear frustration

I'm lucky - my job allows casual business attire, so lose khakis are actually okay, assuming I don't have a meeting or anything. I love it. :7

I think I'd probably die if I had to dress to the nines like some places require. Yuck.

>ETA: Marie, why can't you try on underwear at the store?? I
>tried on about 20 pair yesterday at Bloomingdale's. Just wear
>your briefest string bikini, and pull the strings down so
>they're basically hanging out the leg holes of the panties
>you're trying on, to see how they fit.

I'm surprised they let you do that.

At the risk of sounding like a freak to you guys, why not just go cammando? (unless, of course, the pants are too light?).

UUmmm, well for me I just can't. The other thing is, then don't you have to wash your pants everyday instead of just your underwear??;-)

>lala, you're supposed to try them on over your own underwear.
> The creepy part is that customers are left alone in the
>dressing rooms with no one watching.

Right, but even with a thong or string bikini there is still too much skin touching the undies

I don't wear the same pants every day, so I wash them in my weekly laundry...same with my underwear!

I don't know if you're wearing dress or casual pants, but one option is pantyhose with the built-in. No lines at all and the top is thicker so there are no see-through issues. No need to wear underwear. And some brands have styles that come with a lower waistband than the usual. Just a thought.

I'll say it again! Hanky Panky! Check them out, they are the absolute best undies ever, ever! Go to www.hankypanky.com

I buy the original thongs, they do not ride up and feel like "butt floss". They do not ride up in the front either, plus no pantie lines!

NY25,
PANTYHOSE??? With pants? The whole reason I buy pants and don't buy skirts is to avoid pantyhose.

tneah, I checked it out very carefully, but I can't wear a thong. I did see one or two pair of bikinis that look nice though, and I may order them.

I sent you a PM.

kathryn, I know when a thread gets this long it's easier to post than to read the whole thing, but the Spanx possibility has already been explored here.

Geesh! I did read previous posts, but must have missed that.

Kathryn,
I'm sorry. My mood today has nothing to do with you or this thread, which has been very informative. And Spanx is, of course, an excellent idea. Please forgive me.

Hi Nancy! I second the link from Cody with the Victoria's Secret Body by Victoria Ultrasmooth low rise boy short. I have actually replaced every single pair of panties in my drawer with these. They are the most comfortable and flattering panties I have ever worn.

And I do wear the nude color under cream and white pants and it's just fantastic.

Just make sure that they are the "Body by Victoria" ones. I've tried their other ones made in a different fabric...didn't work out so well.

Nancy, I bet you never imagined that this thread would elevate you to the status of Panty Poster Girl;-)
Our preferences, regarding "intimate apparel" are varied, to say the least. I'm afraid that this is a road we ultimately have to walk alone in order find our personal, Holy Grail of Panty-dom.
Hang in there,girly!

Sarah
;-)

Sarah, I'm just thrilled not to be the only one with this problem. Thank you very much to everyone who posted! :D

I never said pantyhose was the preferred option, just AN option (particularly with dress pants) - creates a slimming line, as well. And they insulate in the winter months. Not my preference either, but sometimes you just gotta do it.
