Underwear frustration

Nancy, that is one of my issues too. I have PBS: Pancake Butt Syndrome ;-)

Sarah, you're hilarious. :7 I have one word for you: LUNGES. ;) We PBS girls NEED our lunges. :p

Nancy, the stores I shop in always say you can't do that! Huh. Maybe I need to find some new stores... I wonder if it's a state thing?

>ETA: Marie, why can't you try on underwear at the store?? I
>tried on about 20 pair yesterday at Bloomingdale's. Just wear
>your briefest string bikini, and pull the strings down so
>they're basically hanging out the leg holes of the panties
>you're trying on, to see how they fit.

No offense, but the thought of someone else trying on panties that I'm buying grosses me out.

Nancy,
The great thing about the lace is it lays FLAT so with most pants no VPL. But, with cream colored silk pants, hmmm... You know, you might try the second link to the Maidenform "Light" underwear. I have them in black, white, and "body beige" colored and the latter might work very well under a cream colored pant:

I found these for sale in a Kohl's locally (it was grand opening, I was sent a free $10 gift card, AND Maidenform was 33% off, so it was a great deal :)

I know it says "Sheer, striped pattern at leg band" in the description, but all it really means is there are 3 sheer strips there, no discernable pattern through fabric. Incidentally, the bras are very comfortable as well, pretty much weightless, but EXTREMELY supportive.

Oh, and I hate Spanxx( I fell like I'm wearing some kind of torture device. Ugh, I'd rather go for a thong anyday. One with a comfortable lace top of course;-)

I buy Jockey's. They have one line that's darn near invisible under clothes (waistband extremely thin, barely there, don't sag, silky feel so don't "grab" pants.) I buy them at Kohls, but lots of other stores carry them. Note, some jockeys underwear have really wide elastic waistbands, that's not the one I'm suggesting. Good luck!

Chocolate IS the answer, regardless of the question.

Nancy, I knew this thread would be from you! Sorry you're still having trouble. Just buy some loose-fitting khakis so you don't have to worry about what goes on underneath. ;) :p

Catherine,

I know they are listed as "boyshorts", but these aren't like regular boy shorts, which also ride up on me something fierce. Or grab my thighs so tightly that we have a whole other unsightly problem on our handsx( The bottom opening hits me much higher in the leg and it makes it more like, a, well, I don't know, there isn't really a name for it. "Super flattering not really like a hipster or boyshort hipster and boyshort?" LOL, something like that. Try them on and then decide, don't let the boyshort moniker throw you.

The search is on!

Nancy, the waistband is one of the things I just love about these. It is actually looser than the rest of the underwear. I usually have a line around my middle from underwear, even if they aren't really tight, just snug. But with these, there is no mark left on my skin. They just lay against my skin--hard to explain, but I LOVE that particular feature.

Two words: Hanky Panky!

They are stretch lace, that does not stretch out after washing, they come in low rise thongs or regular, more modified thongs.

I refuse to wear underwear that shows panty lines or gives me muffin anything. Hanky Panky brand is a bit more pricey, but soooo worth it ladies, buy a pair and see for yourself!:) Anthropologie carries the brand by the way.:)

lala, you're supposed to try them on over your own underwear. The creepy part is that customers are left alone in the dressing rooms with no one watching.

Hey Shannon. There's just one little problem with that: this thing called WORK. x( But I agree, on weekends I wear loose khaki shorts and it doesn't matter what I wear under them at all. :)

Hello Everyone.

I am amazed at how many folks have these troubles with underwear as I usually find underwear to be THE MOST flattering fit of anything I own. I'm not kidding!:)

I buy low(er) rise styles and I think that this may have something to do with the lack of muffin top affect plus none of them have a thick, tight waistband on them.
