Unbalanced body parts

For Cathe or anyone:
Although I am doing STS I suppose this question pertains to any weight lifting program. I find that I am unable to lift a barbell or weights that are my correct % in doing chest presses, so I just lift what I can. To be honest, I don't really care, because I don't particularly like working my chest HOWEVER, how will that affect tha balance between my chest and back? I am able to lift what I should for my back, so is it getting stronger than my chest and how will that affect my posture or anything else? Hope I made myself understood:confused:

Actually, building more of your back muscles than chest muscles will help you with your posture as it should help pull your shoulders back in alignment and keep your back upright. Doing too much chest without stretching the chest muscles and not enough back work can actually lead to poor posture as it can cause you to round your shoulders forward. So if your going to shirk on something that's a better combination—less chest more back than the other way around. My physical therapist told me this.

i agree! my chest has always been stronger than my chest. before i learned about causes of poor posture i just pushed my chest to the limit. I would train my back hard too but i always can lift heavier with my chest. As a result, my posture is not good. I have forward rounded shoulders. Just this week i have made the decision to cut chest work for a while and just focus on my back. If i do any chest at all it will just be a few sets of pushups. So i wouldn't worry to much about your situation as you are in proper balance for good posture.
