TTC/Preggers Week of May 25

Kate~that is amazing news!! I'll have to find that info on why it's more likely to get a girl aftering oing.. I thought it was something to do with the cervical mucus changing and since the girls were more resilliant they could surive, but the boys couldn't. I'll see if I can find it. Congrats on your 3rd girl!! ARe your girls excited to have a sister??

Thanks, Ladies!

Lisa, That's actually what Gina (DD1) said too! She said "Another one for the girls team!"

Trish, I would be SOoooooo interested on the info (I bet Lisa would too!). This goes against all science that I had learned about fertility. Yes, the girls are excited to have another sister.

I was awake all night thinking about my 3 little dark-haired beauties! Do you know how long it's going to take me to do their hair every morning!!?:)

Hope everyone has a great Saturday!

congrats kate!! i am so happy for you all. they always say you are sicker 1st trimester with girls - you sure had a rough go.

i am at work today. looking forward to a day off from work tomorrow. have as good saturday everyone

What a busy board.

Mel, keep us posted. I always start with a faint line before it becomes a "real" line.

Kate, yeah for another girl. I have two girls, then a boy. I remember how excited I was that I'd have three girls in a row (yes, you read that right- I was told a girl but it was a boy). I am told that this is a girl, but I won't count on anything until baby is born (and not that it even matters- I am ready to go with either gender).

Jen, we're having our closets "done" next week- our hall closet and master. I am convinced that it will result in a trickle down effect for the other closets. My husband and I are both taking the day off. I imagine a perfect day where i boss him around and get stuff done. How happy on the boy. I never thought I'd be so into 'boys' but my son is just a delight.

Lisa, another thumbs up for the PIS. Love mine. It's great for my work days and when I want to cocktail it up. it's been in use since my first was born in 2000. I am going to the crunchi-mama baby store today to stock up on new parts. I also have a Medela hand pump and an Avent hand pump which I use to nurse baby on one side and pump on the other. Unfortunately, this BPA thing has me thinking maybe I should stick to the Medela hand pump. I really don't use Avent bottles, but do like the Isis pump.

Trish, we live in St. Louis, which is about 2 hours from Ft. LEonard Wood. At least we've had very cool weather so far, good for the garden, bad for going to the pool. Your husband will find that the summer humidity here compares easily to the hot states in the deep south.

I ran (with a little walking) 4 miles yesterday. It added to an already draining day. THe girls had their last day of school and I was shuffling between school, pizza parties, the pool, haircuts, shopping, etc. I need to slow down. I not only get really tired and crabby, but I am also an orthopedic mess- my ankles hurt, my hips hurt, etc. At 37, I am feeling my advanced maternal age.

I am 35 weeks. I usually go a full 40, so I think I have another 5 weeks of "getting ready." I am already starting to wrap it up at work (i work 3 days a week), telling clients who to contact in my absence, etc.

Hi,
Wow, this board has been super active! My auction for 4-Day Split is still going on at ebay, and there are two days left. Nobody bid on Cardio Fusion yet, but a lot of people are watching it. I keep getting workouts from netflix, and I love trying them out. I got Jari Love's core something? lastweek, and that was good. Aside from that, I took 2 long walks, did Kick Max, ME again and TJ Cardio Party. I am feeling a lot better, and even though I still have a nasty cough, I am full of energy.

Kate-congrats on another girl! Way to go! I am not sure about the nursery yet. With my DS, we didn't go to "baby-ish", and we still have his room like it was the day he came home from the hospital. We did a transportation theme with pictures on wall, valances and bed sheets. So, when we want to change it, it won't be tough to switch. Still thinking on the new baby's room, though.

Morris-I can't get over your workouts! You're having a boy too, right? Any names picked out? I think we are going with Aidyn Joseph at this point. All the other names we wanted "belong" to family members and close friends' kids. Boys names are hard to think of, in my opinion.

Kristan-I was laughing about the part when you plan to boss around your husband. I ditto that. My last day of school is next Monday, and then my DH and I plan to get the baby's room ready and change our computer room into a computer room/toy room.

Trish-Great workouts too!

Hi Maggie! Hi Lisa! Hi Anne!
Way to go, Melanie! Keep us posted.

Looks like it's a positive. Wow, I'm suprised. A mid-late Jan baby. I"m not sure how DH will handle this, I'll have to wait for a "good" time to tell him. Will keep you posted...

CONGRATULATIONS MELANIE!!!!!:) :D :) :D :) :D
I am over the moon for you!! I know how long you've been wanting this!! Good luck with your talk breaking the news to DH!!! I'm sure after the initial "shock", he'll be happy.

Hi everyone else! Busy trying to clean up the house and do laundry and run errands before having to pick up DH from the airport. Hope everyone is having a nice weekend. I know Melanie is!!;-)

Lisa

My abs hurt so bad. I keep having these really wierd muscle spasms, almost like I can feel the muscle ripple when it happens. Wierd! Does this ever happen to any of you? Tuesday I have an appt w/ my midwife - I'll ask her about it. Til then - no core work. It's not diastasis but I sure don't want to get it!

I am still beyond happy about my girlie! Thanks for all the well wishes!

Workout today was C&W (no abs) and KM leg drills.

Congratulations Melanie!! 4 little ones - wow! That is great!

Morris, Wishing you a speedy work day and a relaxing day tomorrow.

Kristan, the tech saw a very defined (she called it textbook) labia - so hopefully we'll be safe painting a pink room! Hope the closet cleaning goes well - we need to do that too.

Jen, I hope you sell your dvds. Great workouts for you! What a nice name for your little boy!

Lisa, Busy day for you! I love getting housework done though. Very gratifying to me. Glad DH will be home for you.

Congrats, Melanie!!!!!!!!! I bet you are SO excited!!! Kate, on our ultrasound, the technician saw a very distinct something else;-) , so we are safe painting our room for a boy:) .

Jen, Our neighbors are having a boy next month. they actually didn't want to know the gender. But at first touch of the ultrasound "wand" (?) it got a shot between his legs and there was no denying it. I felt bad for them that they didn't want to know but found out anyway, but they seem happy that they know now. I found some cute bright and graphic flower printed sheets at pottery barn kids and some wall stickers too. I think I'm going to order them then figure out which shade of pink to do the walls.

Melanie, Have you told your husband yet?! :D

Told my DH about an hour ago (before my run). He seemed pretty upset, but then had a content face wehn I came back. I"m really shocked & indifferent right now. God is in control!

melanie, big hug and congrats! things WILL work out.

jen, i love your name choice! we are still struggling....

kate, sorry for the ab pain - sounds scary, but just wait and ask your midwife. i am sure things will be okay.

done with work and put together all my flower boxes. i am ready for bed!!

Melanie, I feel how you do about God being in control. This pregnancy itself feels like an all-out miracle to me. I'm sure with a little bit of time your DH will come around. I know for this one I cried/hyperventalated for quite a while. Not out of sadness or joy just complete and utter shock. Nice you gave him some alone time after you dropped the bomb. Let us know how things progress....((hugs))

Morris, You snuck in on me! What did you put in your flower boxes? I stuffed ours full of wave petunias - hot pink, of course!;-) :7

The ab pain is actually worse. I quit making dinner and had Mike finish it up. I'm sitting in my chair in the great room with my feet up. No pain this way but when I'm up and around it starts in again. Mike is kinda peeved at me that I exercised today....but it wasn't this bad then. I can feel her moving and it seems like normal movement so I'm not terribly worried, I think i just have been doing too much.

Kate-I LOVE looking through Pottery Barn Kids catalogs to get ideas. Your idea sounds great. KEEP those feet up, girl! Take it easy. That's me talking to you in a caring, mom's voice.

Melanie-He will come around. I cried after both ultrasounds (both pregnancies), not because of the gender, but because it became so real. And, they were panic tears. I am not one for change (even though I want this change), and I have to ease into it. I'm fine now. That sounds so strange as I type it, but it's true. Anyway, he'll be fine:) .

Morris-I finished my flowers last week. I always like to put Gerber daisies in the large flower box on the back patio, and this year, I mixed another flower inbetween the daisies. Well, the rabbits obviously like that flower, but they've left the gerber daisies alone. I guess I need to leave my cat out more!

By the way, I know I was asking about comfortable summer shoes to wear while pregnant. So many of my friens (and my sister) recommended Privo shoes. So, being the bargain hunter that I am, I went to a great online shoe site where I order all of my son's Stride Rites, and I got a tremendous deal on two pairs. One is a plain brown leather flip flop, and the other are cute white sneaker/Mary Jane like shoes. They both have these massagey things in the insole, and they are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. I have walked around school all day in them, around an amusement park all day, etc., and my feet feel so good. They are pricier than other shoes, but with online coupons, free shipping, etc. they are worth it! Do any of you own a pair? I am NEVER going back to other shoes.

Kate~I had a book I need to see if I can find it. It was called how to choose the sex of your baby. I am prety sure that info was in there or if not it was on Fertility friend.com I know once you ovulate your cervical mucus changes more to creamy/milky instead of fertile. Anyway, I'll see if I hae that book. How sweet you were up thinking about your girls!! I am really excited for Madison to have a sister. I have a sister and we are close. I am excited that maddie will get ot have that as well. That stinks about the ab pain. I don't think the seperation hurts so I don't think that is what it is. my abs actually seperated with my 3rd.. I was so bummed, but I am told that during my c/s this time they can sew them back together. I hope!! Now as far as your pain I wonder if it the baby is just tucked over in one side causing the pain? Is it all over or just in one location?

Morris~hope you ahve a great day off tomorrow!

Melaine~congrats on your darker line!! I bet dh will come around. I know my dh was pretty upset at first and then within a week he was much much better.

Kristan~oh my did they acutally see girl parts on the u/s with your son when they said he was a girl or did they just not see boy parts so they said it was a girl? With our u/s the tech showed us the "hamburger" that is the 3 lines that are the labia. That must have been a big shock to have a son when you were told it was a girl! My hubby flew into St. Louis when he flew out there. Then they drove to the base. He said it's been hot/humid there and today it was raining. Great job on running 4 miles this far along. That gives me some hope. I stopped running about 30 weeks last time, but I really want to continue longer this time if I Can.

Jen~is netflix easy to use? I have heard of it,but never tried it. I think I saw a free month trial a while back too. I didn't know they had workout videos.. that might just make me have to try it out. I haven't heard of those shoes before. I know I live in my running shoes or flip flops. Lately by the end of the day I just want to be shoeless. : ) I hope those shoes are comfy for you!

Lisa~hope you enjoy your dh being home. I know how stinky it is when they are gone.

Well I didn't run today, but I walked 2x for a total of 7 miles so I feel okay with that and I mowed.. yes again. ugh this grass. Anyone know how to make it stop growing. LOL I got it done just in time too because it rained about an hour later and it's supposed to rain tonight some more. We ended up having a good day. I took the kids and walked 4 miles this morning and they rode thier bikes. Then we went back this evening (after the rain) and it had cooled down and was nice. We just did an easy walk and then had a picnic dinner. I am already so bored and missing my hubby. We have 61 more days!! ugh

Well I am happy to report I had a great run this morning. Maybe not running yesterday was the trick. I managed to run 3 miles w/out stopping once and I did 4.5 total with minimal walking. I then came in and did some upper body weight work. I got a shower and I feel great! We'll probably take a walk later too after dinner.
