TTC/ Moms to be Check in Jan 13

Now, I am speaking only out of observation, and not out of exerience here: If down's syndrome is that horrible of a thing, why is often that these couples with down's kids have MORE children? From my observation, they are lovable special people. There are challenges, but they must not be too bad or all these people wouldn't continue having more babies, right?!?!?

<<Autumn - So did you drop a sample of DH's swimmers in your CM and check that out under the microscope?>>

Yes, and ummm.... interrupted romantic moments to check out my CM under the microscope.

Maggie,

It is up to you. If someone comes along and wants it, you can give it to them. :) It is your book now.... just in my house. :)

<<Autumn - I actually saw that you finished the book so wanted to order it and I was getting another book as well, so got a discount. Thanks for the offer though! I sometimes like to keep the book anyway to refer back to, so wanted my own. I got another one on hormones too.>>

Ok, I just want you to know I wasn't overlooking you.

Just want to clarify..... I'm don't want the book back. Since I teach NFP, I'll keep revised editions on hand and give away the old editions. I'm gettin' too many books.... can't believe I just said that.
:)

Happy your mom is doing better.

I'm not going to comment on the number of kids topic.... I am PMSing.... it could get ugly. }( I will say I don't understand why people feel it is acceptable, proper, etc. to advise someone how many children to have unless they've been asked to advise. What is up with this unsolicited family size advice? When we had our second people were asking, "your done now, right? You've got one of each."

I hope you ladies are doing well. I completed my Thursday-Tuesday plan and plan to repeat it.

TTYL!

Melanie - I have the free membership with FF. I used to have the one you pay, but then I figure I don't really need it. The free one is sufficient for me. I'm sorry about the conversation you overheard. I know what you're feeling and thinking, I've been there.

Morris - I used to really like IMAX3 until it started taking a toll on my knees which I think is the jumping. The other thing I figured out that I don't care for much on IMAX3 is the music. I don't know why that matters so much to me, but it does. I could do without the Michael Jackson.

Autumn - I'm feeling yucky and bloated right now. Very moody also. Good job on the workouts!

Maggie - How far are you in your pg? I'm sorry, I'm just blanking out at the moment. Regarding tests and Down's, I know of 2 women personally that got "passing" test results and found out after the baby was born that the baby had Down Syndrome. You love your children no matter what because their yours, and I totally can see where you're coming from.

3 workouts this week so far and I was going to workout tonight, but I feel blah. My eyes are reacting to some allergies, and I decided to eat some brownies to make me feel better. How bad is that!

Lisa

lisa, as long as you enjoyed the brownies, that is all that matters! i am sorry about the yucky feeling and bloat. hope it passes today.

maggie, how many boys and girls do you have?

melanie, i hope this finds you feeling better. i think i will undergo a bit of retail therapy later. plan to get both of amy's and ctx. okay, this is a problem. dh thinks i have more than enough dvd's, which is true i guess if i didn't use them all, but i still get bored. oh well, i think i will just do it anyways. i will justify it by not getting sts. yet.

autumn, i laugh thinking of you with your microscope. great job with your turs-tues plan.

well, we are going on vacation on jan 28th. we are going to florida for a week with the in laws. i am kind of dreading it, but that is a bad attitude, so i need to look at the positives. the weather will be great, ds will love the beach and the parks. hmm. that is all i have for now. must work on that.

bbleveryone.

happy friday

Morris,
DVDs are less money then a gym membership, plus you'll have more time to make your DH some delcious meals b/c you won't have to drive TO and FROM a gym. YOu just tell you DH that!!!!! Get him on the forum, I"LL tell him for you. Where is he? LOL :D :D
Oh, and I was wondering,....would it be okay if I cam to FL with you? Ha Ha, it's 30 degrees BELOW zero here this morning!!!!!!! Brrrrrrrrrr.

could you go to florida instead of me:) ? pretty please? gosh i sound ungrateful. must work on that too. i will tell dh to e mail you when he gives me a hard time;) ;)

we are getting that arctic air this weekend. may even be too cold for my dear dog to go out running.

I stressed all night about my down syndrome post. I wanted to clarify--I totally understand the relief and joy one feels when one knows one's baby is healthy and typically developing. I never would have wished for a disabled child, but now that he's here, I'd never trade him for anything. Plus, the Lord grew me so much during the experience, I'd never trade that either.

I guess 2 things I know. I hope that this baby is healthy and "normal", but if it isn't, I know it isn't the end of the world either and something greater is at work.

Autumn--I'd love the book. How should we make arrangements? Would you like me to pay for shipping? That only seems fair. My e mail is [email protected].

Lisa--I'm only 9 weeks.

Morris--I have 3 boys and 3 girls. This baby will be the tie-breaker. Now why don't you want to go to Florida (sounds heavenly with all this bleak Oregon rain). Is is an inlaw thing or just a don't want to hassle with travel thing? Or am I just being nosy?

Melanie--30 below??? It's never ever been that cold here. I can't imagine. We get all excited if we get an inch of snow--no one can drive or anything--accidents all over the place. We just have bleak, wet, grey days--now I sound ungreatful.;-)

take care all
Maggie, for whom everything smells really badx(
9 weeks, 3 days

maggie, i am sorry everything smells bad! hope you get thru this part quickly. with your other pregnancies, when did you feel better? i am mainly not looking forward to florida b/c of spending a whole week with my in laws. they are very kind, very nice, but very sedintary. they do not do ANYTHING. makes visits beyond 36 hours seem awfully long. also, i find it really tough to stay inside doing nothing with a very active 19month old. i am just not at my best right now - still quite tired at night. sometimes it is just too much to try to entertain a little one and 2 grown adults. hope this does not sound too terrible.

Morris--I've been much more nauseous before, but never so sensitive to smell. I can smell tuna fish and chili right now and it's all upstairs and I'm downstairs in the basement. Even I stink to myself and I'm showering all the time. My kids think I have a superpower.

Florida sounds so exotic and beautiful, it sounds like a total bummer to stay inside the entire time. Maybe for the sake of the grandchild they'd be willing to do something non-sedentary.

Morris - I hope Florida goes over better than you anticipate! Yes, I enjoyed the brownies, but had a load of regret and guilt after! I am going to do IMAX3 tonight because we kept talking about it and I felt the need to pull it out!

Maggie - I remember smelling EVERYTHING when I was pg and I would ask my kids and DH, "Eugh, what is that smell? Can't you smell it?" They thought I was a freak because they had no idea what I was smelling!

Melanie - Did you start your FF?

Off to do IMAX3. I need it, been eating like a pig!

Lisa

Maggie, I'm sorry you were tense about our "talk" on down's snydrome. I don't think anyone misunderstood you. There wasn't a need (on my part) for clarification,...but I hope YOU feel better. Anyhoo, I hope you are feeling better and your superpowers are waning a bit. You know, even superman had to learn to deal with his new powers. ;)

Lisa, I haven't done IMAX3 in a while either. Maybe I'll do it tomorrow (for discussion sake). I have started to chart (on my own chart), but I've missed temps for 2-3 days and I'm only on CD 7!!! FF has sent me a tutorial daily which is useful.

Morris, how long is your FL trip? I'm excited for you!!! You're going to be so hyped up, by the time you get there you won't even know what happened to you! Oh, and to reward yourself for your good behavior (in advance) you should buy yourself a new exercise DVD. :D :D

I better get in the shower, I work a few hours this AM in town, then a Holiday Party tonight (a date with DH, it's been over a year!)

mel, have fun on your date!! and i am getting those dvd's. justify it by not getting an elliptical}(

lisa, how was imax 3? i am going to try it again next week as i know my weeks are limited. my eating was horrible yesterday too. i did a killer kb workout, but, it won't make up for all the processed food. now i am sluggish and gross today. and i am working. i am hoping to bribe dh into letting me workout while ds naps. i will feel better, therefore his day will be better:) i'd love to do cardio fusions mix and match today or amys hi lo

maggie, i don't think i misunderstood your post either. you sounded quite wise and have a good perspective. interesting how different this pregnancy is for you. i hope your nose gets better soon:) and thanks for the tip on ctx!

hi kristan, hi jen, hi autumn, hi anne. hope everyone is well. anyone on a 2ww? ovulating soon? i hope anne got some quality time with dh and has a safe trip this weekend. bbl - i am at work today:(

Hello. TOday is skating lessons for my girls and LOTS of errands. Good thing that it's only 15 degrees here so I won't have to worry about groceries going bad while I shop from store to store. I might do meatball mania- which is where I make about 100 meatball and freeze them in batches for dinners.

Yesterday I ran 5 miles; felt pretty good, except that I could feel the jarring of my bladder with each foot strike.

Today I'm taking off; tomorrow hoping to do a ASC2 premix with the leg stuff.

Maggie, I understood you. THere's an OB in our area with a down's child with whom I have a mutual friend. Anyway, I imagine how difficult it must be for her to discuss Down's testing/results with her patients.

You girls talking about IMAX reminds me that like Morris I am on borrowed IMAX time. Thinking I'll do IMAX 2 next week, then IMAX3 the next week modifying if needed. One move I never do: jumping OFF the step. What's the point of that?

I'm feeling positive fertilizing vibes for you all. 2 of my kids were born in October; always seems to be a little boom in October babies. Found my St. Gerard Majella medal; saying a prayer for you all.

Melanie - Have fun on your date! It's been awhile since DH and I have gone on a date also, but it's so needed so have lots of fun!! Temping is a hard habit to get into, but once started, it's almost a hard habit to break.

Morris - I kept meaning to ask you if you wear a heartrate monitor while working out. Do you watch that at all while pg? I guess this qx could be for Kristan as well since her workouts sound pretty intense also. I wondered if that mattered at all or it's by how you feel when pg. I'm addicted to my hr monitor so I'm always aware of what my hr and calorie burn is. I did IMAX3 yesterday and it felt really good. Hope DH lets you get that workout in to make you a happier wife and mommy today. I'm so like that also.

Kristan - Thank you for the prayers, they are welcomed and needed! If you didn't read my post to Morris, I have a qx for you there also. Jarring bladder, huh? The fun things of being pg.

Hello to all the other ladies! I'm off to get dd ready for ballet and ds ready for basketball. Then it's soccer for dd after all that morning events. I'm hoping to do GS CT sometime today and watch my eating. I've been so stressed with work that I notice my eating has turned emotional again. I need to get a hold of that.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Lisa

Ahhhhhh ballet. I wonder if I'll ever be able to go to ballet? ;)

no reason jadon cannot do ballet melanie../..:)

lisa, i did get my workout in - cardio fusion mix and match and butts and guts abs. i fel so much btter. no, i don't wear a heart rate monitor. dh got me a garmin for christmas, but it is depressing to see how slow i am now, so i probably won't use it until after the baby. i don't worry too much about my heart rate b/c i get out of breath climbing the stairs! i pretty much just do what is comfortable and go by the talk test. seems to work for me. i'd be interested to hear what other people do , though.

melanie, where is your date? what is your plan? i want to live vicariously:)

ds is awake from nap. bbl

Melanie - I ditto Morris re: the date! Maybe #4 will show interest in ballet?

Morris - What's a Garmin?

Just got back home and I'm a little pooped, but excited to get to my workout. I think I'm going to do some cardio along with my GS CT.

Lisa
