True Blood Season 3: New Theme Song!!!

Ugh, . . .can't wait for the last episode. I'm so twitchy. That scene with Sookie and Eric, . .was so adorable of course the fact that Eric was buck naked didn't hurt. Bill is REALLY starting to get on my nerves. Looks like all hell is going to break loose. I have this wanna see it don't wanna see it thing going on. I know that after the next episode I'll have to wait forever for series 3 which sucks big time. Maybe book 10 will come out to help keep my mind off of it. Oh what did you think of the casting for the queen. I was a little disappointed, . . and shocked really usually I think that casting is right on but the queen just seemed like a snotty little college girl to me.

It's a great song but these are scenes/characters from the current season, 2. I work for Warner Bros. which owns HBO and they haven't started filming season 3 yet.

I was disappointed with her too. I know in the books she is young but something didn't click. I read a rumor that the actress playing Sophie-Anne (Evan Rachel Wood) & the actor playing Eric (Alex Skarsgard) are dating IRL.

Book 10 goes on sale May 2010.

Are you sure this is a new theme song for the show?
I can't imagine they'd change the one they are using (it seems to fit the Louisiana setting so well).
Looks to me just like a video made with some clips from the show and some new footage of the characters.
(I'm also kinda hoping Maryann will be gone before season 3!)

I totally agree. I think that the actress is great but enough already and although I like the Andy Belfleur character I'm not thrilled with the Jason and Andy versus the black eye ball town thing.

This music is terrible! I also am in doubt that they would get rid of the "Bad things" theme song because, as Kathryn says, it fits the locale and show's themes too well. I also think most shows would stop and think hard before changing theme song between seasons.

I'm SO done with Maryann, seems like the show knows it too, I think the season finale will put an end to her, and they will leave us with a doozey of a cliff hanger for some whole new crazy drama. I hope we find out what that light thing from Sookie's hand is all about.

I just want to know when Season 2 is going to be out on DVD!!! Or itunes! After our last conversation Janie, I went and bought Season 1 on itunes and watched the entire thing in 2 days on my ipod. Now I'm actually hooked!!! I think reading all the books and now seeing the characters I loved from the books come alive has made the difference. I want to see Season 2 dang it!!!

actually, this was an internet rumor...i dont think its the new theme song (my bad), just a video teaser that was aired on hbo.

i agree, i hope maryann is off by the end of this season! im actually surprised she lasted as long as she did. she is royally getting on my last nerve!!

LOL!!

Dela, have you read the books? I think they may be working something in from the books but could be completely off the mark here. :)

I was loving this Season but the Maryanne storyline has just gone on and on. I am not loving it so much.

I was watching Chelsea Lately and the actress playing Tara, Rutina Wesley, said the season finale is "bittersweet".

Whoo hoo! Liann welcome to the True Blood fan club! Looks live you've been bitten. :)

I agree, they have to keep the theme song. I'd have a tough time associating Depeche Mode w/the Louisiana bayou.

Different take on Maryanne though--I love the character, hate the actress. The character had huge potential & was wasted on her.

I have to say, I really love this show, but I cannot stand the main characters. It's well written, riveting & beautifully produced, but Sookie is waaaaaaaay too perky for my taste, she's so sugary sweet she makes me want to vomit, & Bill is a ginormous yawn. They deserve each other LOL. The supporting characters rock though. I cannot get enough of Tara, Lafayette, Eggs (YUMMY! I love Eggs! ;)), MMMMM Eric & Sookie's bro (name escapes me right now), I do like the Queen, I think she's very cute & potentially lots of fun.

I might just have to check out the books myself. I'd given up on vamp books ever since Ann Rice bored the daylights outta me. :)

Well "bittersweet" probably means they're gonna off someone. I really hope it is Maryanne. The whole orgy, meat thing is getting old. In the books she does not have that huge a role but then again in the books Jessica does not exist and I love Jessica's character. The really interesting thing about the last episode is that it seems to be putting touching on a lot of stuff that happens in the book series as a whole.
Spoiler warning!

The light hand thing, . . will probably introduce the fact that Sookie is part fairy (and in the books fairies are powerful)
Sam talking to Eric about fighting together, . . . there will probably be a war where the different supernatural beings will have to fight, . .in the books it was against the witches.
Bill talking to the Queen and the introduction of Hadley, Sookie's cousin will show Bill's true colors and his original intent with hooking up with Sookie.
I have a feeling that to keep Jason in the series they'll make him a werepanther/werewolf like he was in the books. The director mentioned how in the very first episode he had Jason wear a baseball hat with a panther on it.
Either way I know that this last episode will make me anxious for more.

Laura - I think you would like the books. They are nothing like Anne Rice (I love Anne Rice btw, but the books could be boring to some people). IMO, Sookie is not "perky" at all in the books. I think Anna P. overdoes it big time in the series. I think she sort of looks the part minus her lack of boobage, but she doesn't really act the part yet. I do like that the series is different than the books though while still following them to a degre. It makes it familiar, but not boring. ;)

I loved Anne Rice's first couple of books. Interview was one of the greatest vamp books I've ever read. They just got so repetitive, cheesy & trite after a while, you know? It seemed like she went from needing to get a great idea down on paper to needing money. :p

Maybe I'll order a couple, I'm due for something fresh.

ITA! I LOVED Interview and even Lestat was pretty good. After that though, I couldn't get through any more. It was more of the same. I actually got more into the Sookie books the more I read. I went through all 9 in like 2 weeks if that. They are short reads, so if you are much of a reader, you'll breeze through them.

I thought Lestat was great too! I think it all started going downhill with the Queen.

OK I ordered 1-7 from Amazon for about $35. Now I can be a more educated participant in these threads. ;)

If they bring out the fairy thing now, that will totally throw me off LOL! That wasn't revealed until way later in the books, but it makes sense. I want to see some werewolf action!!!!
