I chose dips because I simply can't do them. I broke my left wrist many years ago and while I have full strength in the wrist, I don't have full flexibility and I get a 'sprain' of sorts every time I try to do dips, pr push ups with a flat palm. I do my pushups on my finger tips and I do some dips using handle bars, I just don't like the way it feels in my shoulders.
