Tragic Story and a Warning

This article is about a friend of the family and boy does it hit close when you know the person involved. It really serves as a warning to be VERY careful about who you meet and talk with on the internet. Especially if you are expecting. There is just too much evil in the world. You can never be too careful. I don't have anything more eloquent to write about this, I'm just too flabbergasted. I only found out a few days ago and I can't tell you how absolutely LIVID I am that they are not able to charge the woman for murder of the baby because they can't prove that he took a breath outside the womb. That is absolutely sickening. It was an 8 month old baby damn-it. You look the poor father and the family that are left in the eyes and tell them that it doesn't count because it wasn't technically a person. >:l . The baby's name was John.

Oh my gosh, reading that article just made my heart sink. I will never in a million years understand how some people can do things like that. I have heard of this happening to other pregnant women and it is so horrific.

Sorry Amber, for your friend. To lose somebody in such a terrible way must be very hard.

I feel so bad for my sister right now. This was a very good friend of hers and she is devastated that she is only just finding out now. Heather had moved to Oregon and the family only just told my sis. You hear stories like this all the time, but when it's someone you actually know it just really makes it more real. I just don't think people realize how much they are putting themselves at risk with the things they put up on the internet. There are too many stories of wierdos posing as pregnant women on forums etc... This is not the first case of this.

This was horrible to hear when I first heard the story. I'm in Beaverton, and this is less than 5 miles from me. I couldn't believe a person could actually commit an act like this -- a sicko. I felt bad for Heather, her fiance., and their families, as she moved out here for a bright future with her fiance.

I was talking to someone at the RT(forgot who it was), about Craigslist, and about being careful and she mentioned this same thing happened in Pennsylvania...

Again, my sympathy to your sister for the loss of her friend.

Just makes me sick! What a horrible thing to happen. I feel so bad for the fiance and Heather's mom. So sad.

As a Mom I have no words only Deep Heart Felt Sympathy for the Family and the Baby. This is too sad for any human to have to grieve. My thoughts and prayers are with you my friend and the family.

That is the saddest thing I've ever read. How horrible. I'm so sorry for that poor girl and her family and friends. How terribly sad!!! And to not charge the woman with murdering that poor baby is horrific! It's clearly obvious that she murdered two people. As sad as this is, thank you for posting it, Liann. It does serve as a reminder that we should all be careful. How sad. Again, I'm so sorry for your loss.

The crazy thing is (ok, one of the million crazy things about this case) is that this woman already has 2 of her own kids. It's not like she was some childless nutcase who obsessed over having a baby. She already had two. Now she has robbed Heather of her life and baby and she will probably never see her two again. It's just so senseless.
