Tracie Long TLT

WOW!!! I just did the first of four TLT's and it was awesome. It was a great change. When I first previewed the first DVD, Better Burn or something like that, I wasn't too impressed. Thought it would not be intense enough, well well well. I had quite a slice of humble pie! It is so easy to increase the intensity simply by going up in weight. I used a 3 lb ball and was hugging and puffing often. Great moves for the outer thighs and butt using a paper plate or rag dempending on your working surface. This really worked my core without realizing I was working it. I did not find the w/out in any way Firm like ;) Just my humble opinion:)

Hi, Claudia!
YOu might want to repost this in the "Open Discussion" forum, as this part of the forum is supposed to be for discussion of Cathe's workouts.

(I love the TLT's, too!)

I was not aware that this was solely for posting about Cathe only as there are comments on this forum regarding Karen Voight & fitness ring comments. I apologize for the intrusion. It seems that when ever there is a post in a wrong forum it is oftentimes the same individual who promptly points out any errors. I guess I shall remain a lurker.

Claudia,
How was the music? Did you like it? Could you hear it? What style of music did they use? Thanks!

P.S. Please don't lurk.:7

Yep,
Don't lurk! Occasionally threads do get posted on a board for something else! It happens! So don't sweat it! Next time I'm sure you'll post "where it should be". ;-) As for the TLT's I love them too. I have to admit, I've been adding 2 TLT's and 2 Pilates to my Cathe workouts lately and have noticed a dramatic difference in my stomach. i.e. pants are getting easier to button. I recommend these all the way. I huff and puff with them all the time.

From the Forum description:
"Feel free to ask or make comments about any of our Cathe Friedrich videos and DVDs."

That is why I made you aware of it.

Yes, I do point this out, only to make sure we can continue the discussion on the point without feeling like we're intruding in the wrong place. I would love to discuss the TLT's! But I'd feel a bit limited if the discussion were here.

>>I guess I shall remain a lurker.

That's your choice, but there is no reason to take such offense. None was intended. I just, again, wanted to direct you to the Open Discussion forum where we could continue discussing this subject.
;-)

Hi Claudia,

I also am interested in the TLT's. I have heard some good things about them from the check in ladies I talk with on harcore maniacs check in. Feel free to come ask on our thread. Who cares if you asked here! It's not like you were answering questions for Cathe on the cathe forum. Don't lurk come on over to open forum and ask away. Plenty of people will hekp you.

WOW Christie you really have me intersted now! Way to go on your goals!

Terri

Claudia,

Don't worry about it. Post away, we are all in need of answers. Just think of it as a challenge. Hope to see you again and again, you are so welcome here.

I wonder also about TLT. Sounds very interresting to me.

Kathryn,

I don't mean to be a brude, but it bothers me when you police our forums. Perhaps the team at Cathe's would like to correct it themselves. I just feel that I have to be perfect on the forums when I know I have and will continue to make mistakes. But I'd rather hear it from Cathe's team.

You are so full of wonderful information, and I look forward hearing your comments. I learn from you all the time. Just know that.

Janie

Claudia,

I love the TLT DVD's, too. I have been using them quite a bit - I love the functional part of their workouts. I do use the 5# ball and I work up a good sweat and I really enjoy how they are put together.

I don't think Kathryn meant to be rude about you posting here, I have been on these forums for six years and Kathryn has been here much longer. She does point out to others when they post a question on the wrong forum - but just to let them know if they are not aware of it. Kathryn gives great advice and her presence here on the forums are very educating.

Hey Christi, which Pilates???

Hi cutie!! I'm curious which Pilates tapes you're using. My sister-in-law is BIG into Pilates and keeps telling me I should try it, but I'm a die-hard at-home exerciser and have a very hard time doing anything other than Cathe and Cardio Coach. That being said, anything that might cause me to notice "a dramatic difference in my stomach" is WELL worth a look! ;-)

Thanks!

RE: Hey Christi, which Pilates???

I do just about in any Pilates labled Intermediate to Advanced. My favorites are the ones from Crunch though. I have FINALLY been able to button a 14 on my stomach. My problem area is my stomach. The jeans look really loose on my thighs, but usually cut into my stomach. (Painful) So it's hard to find jeans that are too tight around the stomach but not too loose on my legs. Am I just weird? :p

Hi Angela,
I was so focused on the workout itself that I didn't pay much attention to the music in Better Burn. However I do recall it being somewhat similar to nightclub music (not that I have been to a club in 16 years!)but just a notch down. I know the music was not in anyway annoying or I would of picked up on that promptly!!! There are no options on the TLT's for muting out the music. I just did "Strength In Movement" and I loved it. The music in no way competes with the instruction. I like how they incorporate balancing work since I am about as coordinated as a doorknob;-) The strength work still keeps my heart rate up. Have a good week!
Claudia

Cheryl,
Very impressive that you use a 5 lber, that weight would put me in a coma;-) I certainly hope to get to your level w/in 6 months.
Claudia

Christie,
you can google TLT and go the the site and view brief clips of the TLT's but they are pricey. They have been on ebay lately but they sell for almost the same as the TLT site. I really like the two I have used so far. I ordered all 4. Have a great week
Claudia

Thanks Claudia. I can't decide if I want my hubby to purchase perfume or some of the TLT's for Valentine's Day. He just asked me again this weekend. Decisions, decisions.....

With all this great talk about the TLT workouts... now I am very interested. How do you use them-- as a weight workout? an interval workout? Is it aerobic at all?? Do you do any other workouts on the day that you do TLT or is it a workout by itself?? Please answer ASAP as I may have to buy them :p !

Jane,
Go to www.tracielongtaining.com and check out their forums. They have lots of info. there. I will probably be ordering these today myself! I've researched and these sound like the change I need in my fitness routine while I wait for my pre-ordered Cathe's to be filmed.
Angela:7

I just ordered them from collage. They ship Tuesday!!! This is the first time I've ordered anything without previewing. I couldn't get the previews at Tracie's site to work. I'm very excited about these and working out in a completely different way than I'm used to!
