Total body rotation help?

Cathlete
Hi! I've been working my way a little too slowly into strength work and I'm feeling a little nervous about the new series - not ready!!!

Looking over my collection I notice that I've run very heavily to total body workouts.

Can someone point me in the direction of a ready-made total-body rotation or help me build one?

Here's what I've got:

On VHS - BC, ME

On DVD - SJP, CW, LIC

I also have IMAX2, SB, RS, BB Timesaver, Step Works and the All Step w/shoulders that came with my step (VHS).

I can usually manage 5 days a week to workout but am often crunched for time - I wouldn't mind splitting into morning/evening if I had to. Sometimes those hour + workouts just have too high a dread factor!

TIA!!!

Suzanne-
If you are making ready for the new split series why dont you use your Full Body tapes as All Upper Days & All Lower Days?

I'd personally do

Day 1: All Upper
Day 2: All Lower
Day 3: cardio
Day 4: All Upper
day 5: All Lower
day 6: cardio
You can use your circuits (BM2, TSaver, SJP, BC, CW, LIC) as add on for upper/lower days (the strength)

HTH - Theres MANY MANY ways to use what you've got - its easy on DVDs with Mix n Match & Premixes... on your VHS just use you FF button and take a few seconds rest!

Have fun creating

Traci, thanks so much! I've been breaking down the premixes into times so that I'll be able to quickly select a workout based on how much time I have.

This is very simple but sometimes it helps to see it in black and white before the idea kicks in.

It's taken me a long time to get over my resistance to using premixes or just doing part of a workout. I used to think I was "cheating" if I didn't do the whole thing.

But now I see the light! I love using premixes so that now, instead of thinking that I don't have time for a workout since I only have 30 or 45 minutes, I can just pick a premix and feel good that I did something instead of blowing it off.

Thanks again! :)

Suzanne-
Keep reminding yourself that BECAUSE you are doing a modified version" of Full Body lifting sessions (all upper / split etc..) You can challenge yourself much more on the weights you use. Thats why Splits are so effective because you can lift heavier the entire workout- Sometimes on F/B workouts your body may be fatigued by end of w/o. LONGER isnt always better. The key to success with lifting is challenging the work load... I highly recommend you keep a log of weights/reps for each workout so you can constantly challenge those muscles.
have fun getting creative!
