I apply a hot wet cloth to it and dab some benzoyl peroxide gel and let sit overnight. Almost 6 months ago I had a horrible breakout, along my checks and chin. At 46, my skin looked like a teen in her prime. I didn't have acne as a teen so to have it now was frustrating and depressing. Hormonal acne, which acne around the jaw line is a sign of, is the hardest! I tried everything and nothing worked. I signed up for Curology. It took some time but it works! My routine is this: morning I use either the Dermologica Derma Clay Cleanser with the Daily Microfoliant or use the MD first, rinse and then use the DC. And at least 3 times a week I'll use the DDF Brightening Cleanser. This cleanser has glycolic acid and salicylic acid. Exfoliating is very important to oily skin, but only once the acne is under control. Evening: use the Dermologica Precleanse to remove makeup, which it does. The best I've found without and trace of makeup left. Followed by a benzoyl peroxide cleanser. I use walmalt brand with 10%. No toner is needed as my face is thoroughly clean. Then I use the Curology cream. Now, if I do get a pimple which is around my period it's two at the most, small and turns to a whitehead quickly. FYI, under my makeup I use the DDF glycolic 10% exfoliating oil control gel. It's not drying. On top.of that I'll use a light spf face cream. My favorite is Lancome renergie lift. One of the few firming creams that do not break me out. I get facials monthly, the microdermablation to give a deeper exfoliation and to remove scaring. My face is beautiful! Absolutely acne free! For spot treatment of acne, I've found benzoyl peroxide works better for me than salicylic acid. Glycolic acid works best over lactic acid. Lactic acid is great for delivering moisture to the skin. But since I'm not dry all over, GA is,best in that it removes dead skin, thereby keeping my pores clear and small.
