This is just awful. I guess it's a scam that has been going on for 10 years.
"Stump discovered that calls like this have been going on for more than 10 years. Ogborn, it turns out, was only the latest in a long line of victims"

This really made me mad. Warn your teenagers to never fall for something like this!
:(

i more dissappointed in the so called manager that let this continue. any adult with a common sense gene would know that police don't do that. i feel really bad for this young lady and hope that manager never gets a position of authority again. glad they caught the pervert too. my god man use a 900 number at least those ppl want to be humilated.

Yeah - this is ridiculous! And to make her stay with another employee - a MALE!!! and continue??!?! What the devil? Was this manager stupid or something????

Oh, it's a good thing that I'm not near the manager or the kid.

That manager needs to be arrested for allowing such a thing to happen (come on - EVERY manager has to be taught what is acceptable and what is not - and even is they have not - common sense tells you that strip searching an employee is not legal!!!).

*walks out of room to calm down*

The only male employee I saw in the article/video refused to do what Stewart asked and left the room. It was the manager's fiancee - Nix - who abused the poor girl. The video said she was forced to perform a sexual act on Nix (as she was kneeling in front of him at this point in the video I can guess what that was). And Nix is pleading not guilty to charges of sodomy and sexual assault.

How can you claim you're not guilty because someone you thought was a police officer on the other end of the phone said to do it? Doesn't this guy have a brain of his own?! He is guilty, guilty, GUILTY!!! That's guilty of the sodomy charge, guilty of the sexual assault charge, and GUILTY of being STUPID!

I saw that edition of "Primetime." How could those McDonald's employées be SO STUPID? To take orders from a supposed police officer over the phone. And what's with the forcing the girl to perform a sex act? How could ANYONE think that the police would tell someone to do that?

I thought the woman manager was a complete idiot for not knowing or even suspecting that it was a prank.

Makes me think even less of the human race!

I don't know..takes only a small amount of intelligence to realize that something was *not right* here and question what was happening (on everyone's account).

I appreciate this information because I have a 16 year old daughter who will be looking for a job soon (maybe McDonald's!). However, this could happen anywhere. I didn't get to watch the episode, but appreciate the link so I could read up on it and warn my daughter!!

You know - there were two employees who came walked out and said that something was wrong. What was that manager thinking? And why did the other employees not put a stop to it?

Seriously - tell your daughters that they should happily have the police called, and that they also want to call their parents - should ANYTHING weird like this happen. I know we raise our kids to be good and to follow what authority says, but they need to know that just because someone says they have authority, does not mean they do.

It's sad that such idiots exist. I'm not an advocate of fighting violence with violence, but I have to admit that I read something like this and I think stringing them up by their toenails is not such a bad idea.

All I can think of is that the poor girl must be real happy that there is a video of the abuse she received available to the American public who, as we all know, "has a right to know."

The ultimate indignity.

Clare

Absolutely disgusting. The manager, she was as dumb as a bag of rocks!! How she could believe the caller after all the ridiculous instructions is plain stupidity. The poor girl should truly sue this ignorant woman who could have prevented this all were it not for her stupidity!!! The fiancee and the caller should be treated to some Soprano's old world modes of conflict resolution!!!

Clare--I agree. I did not click on the video. I cannot believe that they are showing is. Poor, poor girl. To have such an awful thing happen and then for all the world to see. I feel sick.

Maggie

I feel bad for the girl, but at the same time I would have never have taken off my clothes for anyone. I would have known something was off. I talked to my own DD about this and she agrees. Sad that this happened, it is very sick!

I had not heard of this before seeing the link. I am not surprised anymore at what perverts will come up with. Remember the 'Hooters' scandal where the prospective female employees were asked to 'model' the uniform before they were hired and they were being video taped as they undressed/dressed? You have to wonder why those girls who agreed to do that...DID IT.

Our daughter's have to be taught to have respect for themselves and their bodies and that under NO circumstances do they undress or let someone intimidate them to undress.

I cannot believe the girl in the McDonald's story would be intimidated to undress in the manager's office. Didn't an alarm go off in her head that what she was being asked to do was WRONG, let alone illegal. And then to let it go on and on for three hours???? Why didn't she just run when the maintenance guy was in there refusing to take part? I just wonder at why she never tried to get out of there...and then to be forced to have sex with that guy. She should have bit the dang thing off then maybe someone would have finally called the REAL police.

I agree 100%. At some point, there were clear indications that something was WAY wrong here.

Well, on the one hand, it's easy to wonder why she cooperated when something was clearly wrong, but as someone who was brutally victimized as a child by my own father, I can also understand that because of past circumstances our thinking can be warped and confused. I just really feel for this young lady.

And I will add that by the grace of God, I have been able to overcome almost all of what I came from (still have scars, but it doesn't run my life) and I am married to a man who is as different from my own father as light is from darkness and believe me, our daughters are learning all about protecting themselves and about when it is appropriate to defy authority--like when coaches, bosses, police or anyone asks you to do that which you know is wrong.

I am glad to hear that you all are teaching your daughters this as well.

Wow. I thought some of the same things too, but after careful thought....really, the most important thing to remember is she was an innocent scared victim. I have no idea what I would do if I was naked and stip searched in my teens then ordered around. I think we are all a lot braver and can talk big when we have our clothes on. To be fair, we really shouldn't be questioning her.....just the adult idiots who were supposed to be leading her.

Lets be glad we taught our daughters well. I'm sure the girl knows she is helping so many others by letting this air and talking about it (for this we owe her).

JMO,
Robin

I doubt the manager and her fiance really thought they were talking to the police. I think they were getting some sick pleasure out of it. I really don't think they could be THAT stupid, but I guess it's possible.
