Think President Obama needs a little help...

DH and I were saying the same thing this morning! Besides...how the hell do you buy for the QUEEN??? Hasn't she pretty much got the scratch to get everything she wants?

I bet she could use a wedgie (and it costs nothing!)!

Beavs...*snorts*...:eek::D

I would have given the Queen a puppy, or a fish, a "pet"..that would have been great, she is an animal lover right? Walk in with a goldfish swimming in a little bowl.;) I also like the "Snuggie" idea...:D

What I did like was how elegantly our first lady presented herself. Michele looked amazing the whole trip, appropriate, but not 'stiff". I was really impressed, and believe me I would be first in line to say I am not an Obama fan, but I am liking his first lady.

Clueless

in the gift-giving department?

(All in good fun, of course.)

Who knows. Maybe the Queen really, really loves her new iPod. I hear he loaded it with show tunes. It's just...funny. Giving the Queen an iPod.

Gordon Brown, however, cannot play any of the movies from his 25 DVD gift set. That kinda stinks. What's worse? Giving DVDs after getting the following from Brown:

* The first of which is a pen holder fashioned from the oak timber of HMS Gannet, a Navy vessel that served on anti-slavery missions off Africa.

* Another treasure given to Obama is a framed commissioning paper for the HMS Resolute, a Royal Navy ship that came to symbolize British-American goodwill when it was rescued by the U.S. from icebergs and given to Queen Victoria. It is the sister ship of the HMS Gannet.

* Finally, Brown gave Obama a first edition of Martin Gilbert's seven-volume biography of Winston Churchill, whose World War II partnership with President Franklin Roosevelt symbolized the U.S.-Anglo alliance.

That's awkward.

Anywho, I'm thinking our President needs some help in this department (and fast...before anyone else gets a gift :p ). I say we volunteer. What would you have given PM Brown? STS Shock Cardio? The Slap Chop? A Snuggie?

I'd send some funny suggestions to the White House, but I'm not sure how light the mood is over there right now. Heh...

Obama has been even more clueless than I had imagined! I knew he was whoefully unprepared, but he never ceases to amaze me with stunts like the Queen's ipod gift! I wonder if his daughters suggested it.

Holy crap LW, I must have one of those! I have a tendency to murder my plants, that might be one I could actually keep alive!

She DOES love her iPod. CNN did a story on it this morning, & I felt woefully inadequate to discover QE2 is more technologically advanced than I am.

Sparrow, I read somewhere...a long time ago, and I forget what book...that Philip is actually quite playful and enjoys making the Queen laugh. He has been seen chasing the giggling Queen up a staircase.

After all this discussion, now I want an iPod.

That's cute! I like that. :)

I "heart" my ipod. Definitely recommend getting one!!

What would one buy the Queen if given the chance to visit? I know she loves Corgis. Being a dog person myself, I'd probably consider something along those lines.

How sweet is this picture? The article says she was 10, and this was her first Corgi. :)

Animals have been given to dignitaries plenty of times in the past. I recall Ronald Reagan getting an Arabian horse from someone (Mexican prez maybe?) when he was in office. Being that Reagan was a huge horse enthusiast, it was a hit.
