This morning, I got up at 4:50am like I do 4x per week and did my run/walk/stadium for an hour. It's about a 5 min drive from the school back home and when I did my stretch after I got home, I literally felt like I could just stay on the floor and go back to sleep. Instead, I changed clothes and DID go back to bed. Luckily, it's cooling off here so I hadn't sweat much (I know it's still kinda gross). Anyway, I slept for 2 1/2 more hours. What's up with that? Also, on these days when I do run, I always feel sleepy throughout the day. I thought good cardio was supposed to energize you????? I could probably do this every time but I usually have to go to work after. I'm off today.

I have never been energized by cardio. I have also never found that cardio curbs my appetite. I guess everyone is different and how things affect one isn't how it is for another.

Hi Kim - I feel like this if I haven't eaten enough before and after cardio, and/or if I haven't hydrated enough. It just zaps me. Of course, the heat will do it too, easily but you say it is no worse. What about humidity? Cardio does energize me unless I don't eat the proper foods, and enough of them. Also, maybe your body just needs a rest? Know what will really energize you...(?)...trying Cardio Coach - you will be ready for more after the end of the workout :p
 
Drill Max does the same thing to me. And CC8. Dunno why. I think its a hydration thing. I find that if I drink some OJ/water with a bit of sea salt after I feel much better. Otherwise, I am dragging and cranky starting about 2 after those workouts. And I really love both of them. So I just make sure I always have OJ around.

This may be asking TMI but where are you at in your cycle? At certain times of the month I am very exhausted!!

Once I did that too - went back to bed right after my WO, sweat & all. washed sheets after that though!! :confused:
 
I find that running is the toughest cardio and it tires me out the most too. I can't do more than 3 days a week of running cardio - then I don't have enough energy for the strength training. Cycle time does matter too. What a wonderful thing to be able to go back to sleep for a couple of hours - almost like a spa day (minus the shower!)
 
Hmmm...I know I probably didn't drink enough water during the workout and re: my cycle, I'm a little more than 1/2 way, meaning I'll start a week from next Wed.
