Good Point Hiitdogs . . those were my same thoughts last fall when I was being attacked and pretty much stalked on these forums.
There are some who don't know when to think twice before they start too . . . if one can dish it they had better learn to take it.

The negativity (that some people on this thread have voiced makes them uncomfortable) is not only one-sided because you are pretty good at dishing out too!

I haven't posted about last fall until now and only when it was brought up by someone else. As I recall - you were on the attack last fall also when and if someone posted something that wasn't in line with YOUR political thinking.
I have posted many times about many things since then and never said s--t. And there have been many times I read a thread, thought twice and moved on. But last night was clearly not one of those times - and I really don't care.
Quit putting blame where there is none - which seems to be a passion of yours.
There seems to be a select few that feel they have the right to run these boards and that is why many have left.
Here is the weird thing - I love this posting by Laura Max. But as I have learned - you cannot tell someone to not post a negative thought on it or jump all over someone when they do.

I haven't posted about last fall either, & I know it was brought up by someone else, who had a burning & irrational need to make me look bad. I thought this thread was dying too, & wanted to leave it alone, but honestly Baylian, you just can't let it go can you? I know there are a lot of conservatives on this forum. I'm friends w/most of them, b/c they're not constantly bashing people/politicians/etc. I like, nor do I bash people/politicians/etc. they like. I work in politics. If I couldn't agree to disagree w/people my career would've been very short lived.
Yeah, I had one thread where things got out of hand & I lost my temper. Because I sincerely believe that religious & political debates have no place on this forum (again, I'm not saying people don't have the right to post about it, I just don't think it's appropriate). And I believe I had a previous post where I admitted that was wrong, but that was conveniently ignored by certain people who simply do not like me (fortunately I don't care either, I have plenty of friends here AND IRL).
I post lots & lots of positive things, but there is a little group of schoolyard bullies here who seem to hate me, & therefore either choose to ignore that or even snipe at me when I do. And don't think I'm the only one who feels that way, I'm just the only one who's not intimidated by them.

Huh?The weird thing is I thought you & I had found a way to peacefully coexist, even though we don't agree w/each other. Sadly, I guess I was mistaken.

Ok, here's my suggestion, which may end up having me chased up a tree with pitch forks, but oh well, I'm a good climber:
How about using PM's (AKA PRIVATE MESSAGES) to rake each other over the proverbial coals? You still get to verbally spar and bicker in all your glory
, but it's all done in the privacy of your Inbox and everyone else is able to open innocent looking threads without finding all their favorite people going at it? It might not be as much fun as publicly calling each other out, but we may end up getting some of our old posters back. Heck, even I have been afraid to start a thread in forever.

You lost your temper because it was a negative comment about your candidate/party. And there were plenty of threads about all sorts of political stuff. Again - it's an open forum and people should be able to address whatever they wish. You are in politics - you of all people should understand that.
The admittance of being wrong - I don't think that involved me or our falling out. Or did it? Was that about something else? I'm really not understanding that so maybe it didn't involve me.
I believe we can coexist because we really have no choice. I'm not going anywhere and neither are you. The only thing I did here was back someone up who made a comment on your thread (which as I said before I loved) that obviously you didn't like and it seemed like you went after them. It seems to be a pattern. Like the saying goes - there is always going to be someone smarter, faster, prettier, stronger,sicker, richer, poorer than you. We can't please everyone and if the world all agreed on everything it would be a very boring place.
In reference to the placing of blame - that was not intended for you and sorry if it seemed like that. I was writing fast and furious so I could get to the basement to workout.

Yes, there were liberals responding, but the threads were all started by YOU. You were a new member to the forum and yet over & over & over & over again you posted about politics, and ONLY about politics.
I don't always go after people who disagree w/me. That's an incredibly silly & uneducated statement. In fact, if I were you & hadn't been involved in this thread, I'd have just stayed away. But noooooooooooooooo. You just couldn't help yourself. So here we are, right back at square one.

That's BS - there were postings going on every single day by many people in regards to the election. Are you that narrow sighted? There were many liberal posts made in addition to the conservative ones.
And I was NOT a new member to the forum. I have been here for almost 10 years. The fact that I lost my password I had to start over.
