I just got back from my semi-annual haircut & saw some pretty funny stuff. My salon is pretty upscale--one of the best in the area without actually going into NYC. And quite frankly my hair is really easy to cut--it's all one length--but so many people have screwed it up (how? I have no idea! Once I came home from the Hair Cuttery with one side 3 inches shorter than the other. Once I came home from a different expensive salon nearby with my hair 5 inches shorter after asking for a trim). So I shell out the money just to be safe.
The first thing that had me totally wide-eyed was a woman who brought her 18 month old son in for a haircut. Probably I'm gonna make one of my infamous but unintended insults here, but I thought it was hilarious. The kid barely even had hair & she spent $50 to get it cut. :7 Can one of you moms please explain this to me? If I were his mom I'd be at home with a Flowbie & a baby comb.
The other one that really stood out was this woman who had her hair colored so red it was fuschia. I swear I am not making this up. Isn't hair color supposed to look natural? Are there any women out there whose natural color is fuschia? I don't know if the stylist really screwed it up or if she asked for it, but I'm guessing she asked for it b/c she was sitting in the chair pleased as pie at her new 'do.
Anyone else have salon stories to share? Anne, I bet you have a book full of them........}(
