The things people do at hair salons.........

>Wendy,
>I bought a pair of clippers at Sam's, and I cut my DH hair and
>my 19 month old son's hair.
>
>As for interesting hair salon tales...I used to go to a guy
>named "Steve". He had (and still has) waist length dark hair
>that is tinted burgundy. He has a "back room" that he does wig
>work. I was in that salon this summer to get my hair done for
>a wedding. I peeked in that room, and there was hair all over
>the floor. And, I was there first thing in the morning
>(ewwwwwwwwwwww). I just happened to go there because my
>sis-in-law, who was getting married, lives right next door,
>and all the girls were getting their hair done. It just really
>freaked me out. Needless to say, I haven't been going to him
>for cuts for years!!!!!!

lol! That reminds me of the "Wig Master" on that Seinfeld episode.

I don't have interesting stories to share but your post is hilarious. I wouldn't go near a Flowbie though haha.

Years ago my then stylist and I were having a discussion about customers' unrealistic expectations. She told me a cute story about one of her co-workers. It seems one of his clients had brought in a photo of some Sophia Loren type and insisted that he make her look like the woman in the photo. The stylist looked at her for a long moment and said, "We close at 6."

>I think its funny how some people think that their hair looks
>terrific with different colored stripes in it - -
>seriously!!! When does looking like a skunk ever look good ;)

Hey, I'm offended. (just kidding). I have naturaly black hair and I bleached it to two different shades of blond and it has burgundy streaks in it. It doesn't look tasteless, just different. Also, I have dreadlocks and people tell me that my hair looks super dooper fabulous.

Stories, you don't even want to know.
The most recent is a little old lady that gets done once a week. I mentioned to her she had some sores like from glasses behind her ears(it is from not washing)Told her to mention to the Dr. She told me the Dr. said i burnt her which is not even possible in the crease of the ear. This week she said the calcium bumps on her head were from hairspray. Another stylist told her. Well, we would all have them.I just blow her off.I wold like to tell her toy wash her face and behind her ears.

I have been kicked , bitten, coused at spit at by kids. I have 6 year ols afraid to get a haircut or get their hair washed.
I charge 9.50 for kids and if they are really small and no hair, like 5 bucks.
I have done 1 girl with in works in multi colored. She looked like a freak. Once black with white spots...
I could go on forever. There are some strange people out there.

Well my stepmother gets her hair coloured a very unnatural shade of burgundy, it evens matches her nail polish. It looks very weird. I can see a funky stripe maybe (on somebody much younger too), but this allover ugly colour is not attractive. This deserves a Dr Phil "WHAT WERE YOU THINKING"!!

Nancy is that Nick from TLC What Not To Wear at your salon? How cool!

I used to go to a very upscale salon for my highlights (found someplace way cheaper now!). I thought that the stylists were pretty out there with their clothing and high heels! How can you be on your feet on 4 inch heels and not have your feet screaming at you at the end of the day! Plus the short, short skirts. There were several husbands and/or boyfriends who were willing to wait around for their SO's appointment! ;-)
