The "NO DIET" checkin

Morning Ladies,

Wonderwomen - don't you hate when you forget numbers  sometimes you have to not think about it and it comes naturally...it has happened to me...good luck on the baby front. How old is the your first child?

Syzygy - Where do you find buffalo?? I don't think my stores carry it but then to be honest I have never looked.

Well my eating was good yesterday back on track and I started STS again but hope to incorporated more cardio. Since it was beautiful yesterday I took a 3 mile walk at lunch then came home last night and did Disc 1...ohhhhh those pushups is all I will say because I said a lot more last night.

Today meals:
b - bowl of cherrios and 1 hb egg
l - chicken and salad
D - no clue yet....maybe pork chops

I bought yoplait whips yogurts when I am really craving something sweet...figure it better than going for that bowl of ice cream which I had a hard time staying away from lately.

Hi Therese!

You should be able to find buffalo in the section with the ground beef and ground turkey. It could also be labeled as bison. I have replaced my ground beef with this completely. It's much more tender than beef with much less grease!

I am so hoping to get STS for my birthday! We'll have to wait and see!

My reading list is outrageous right now, but I'll check out the book Long Lost! I'm so bad! I used to read like crazy! Now, I read, but with work and workouts and spending too much time on my computer  I can hardly get through 20 pages a day! Shameful!

Have a great day!

Therese:
Thank you my youngest is 4 and I'm 35 so I better hurry.

Where can I buy some bison? They dont have it in shoprite. I havent seen it.

I love to read I just wish I had more time to do it.

I would like to join in as well. I also weekend binge and have alcohol on the weekend. I eat pretty darn well through the week. I am up about 8 pounds total and it keeps creeping up. I workout at least 4-5 x's per week. I really need to clean it up all the time.
This morning I had a smoothie w/ 1 c berries, 1/2 frozen banana, 1 c milk, and 1 scoop protein powder (counts as 2 fruit/vegg and 4 protein-according to my dietician-). I take CLA supplements, as well as multivitamin, Green tea extract, and fish oil.

I am going back to the nutritionist's plan for me. I can't believe I paid money for a sound plan and then derailed completely.

Does anyone else take supplements? If so, what kind? Has anyone used Atro-phex by BSN?
Theresa

Isn't buffalo and bison the same thing? I get my bison burgers at Heinens. They are good. Way expensive, but good. This is suppose to be much better then cow meat. Not sure why.

Theresa, Welcome! I take supplements before and after I workout. This is what I take:

Before my workouts:
1 - 1500 mg. vitamin c
3 BCAA's
2 Glucosamine Sulfates

After:
1 - 1500 mg. vitamin C
3 BCAA's
Biotin (for my hair)
1 - L-Glutomine
1 - Centrim

Hey Debbie, how's the hair come along anyway? I really need to see a picture of you with long(er) hair, just can't seem to picture it in my mind.

Therese
- I seem to be having the same issue with ice cream lately.

Yesterday I did okay. Once again I had a couple tblsp. of icecream, but then last night we had a get together at church and I had crackers (I choose the one with some whole wheat) and cheese. Then I had a chocolate cookie w/ peanut butter chips. The good news is I managed to stop there.:D Good news is everything else was good.

M1: NonFat Greek Yogurt w/ oatmeal,strawberries,almonds
M2:Apple w/ PB, Cottage Cheese w/ rice chips, 2 tbsp. ice cream
M3: Salad, Raisin & Almonds
M4: Cheese & Crackers, Cut up veggies and a cookie

Linda - I plan on updating my AVI soon. My hair is growing and I'm excited. I love it right now.

Yesterday I did very well again. I actually feel a little lighter right now so I'm hoping to see a weight loss tomorrow when I weigh myself. I did have my two Dove chocolates. Love those. They are my pick-me-up food.

I have to say, I can get use to this. I love not counting calories. I just hope I am getting enough food each day.

Oh yes, I want to see too! :)

I'll have to look for the ground buffalo. The only thing I've found in my store are the steaks, & I can never seem to cook them quite right.

Theresa, re. supplements, Cathe actually posted what she took in Ask Cathe last week sometime. Naturally I will be ordering the very same after I get caught up on my bills. ;):p:)

Good for you on the chocolates Deb. I know stopping is hard. I'm an all or nothing kind of gal--one bite & the bag is gone.

Well, yesterday was a normal day for me--I had a cheeseburger salad for lunch, filet mignon & green beans for dinner, PB for dessert. You'd think I'd get tired of the PB but noooooooo.......

Not feeling any lighter here. Feeling pretty discouraged. I think once the two weeks is over I'm gonna try something new. I have my shopping list for Sunday, & if I could light it on fire w/my eyes I think I would.

Well All!

Chocolate? Totally not a good idea for me to have it around! I'm doing pretty well with the Giradhelli Bittersweet chips I have in the fridge! Used them for choc. chip pancakes last weekend and left them along until tonight! Only scarffed a few!

Had my usual breakfast
Had a small handful of whole raw almonds for a.m. snack
A salad w/baked chicken for lunch
Dinner was leftover spaghetti

Was going to make a new recipe tonight of chicken with peppers in balsamic vinegar. The recipe looked good! Didn't feel like cooking tonight, so it's on board for dinner tomorrow!

I have GOT to stop binging on the weekends! It took me all week this week to get back down to 126! Of course, I missed my w/o on Wednesday and tonight because of the rain.

Tricia - that's what this whole experiment is about: To be able to eat what we want IN MODERATION.

Have that piece of chocolate, but just have one. If we can concur our cravings, then maybe we can continue to eat normally without worrying about binging. This is my goal and so far it is working. Today is Saturday. This is my usual binge day. I have no desire to binge today. I feel satisfied with what I ate this past week AND I lost .6#!!!

I started this at 134.4# and I'm down to 133.8#. It's not a huge loss, but it's a loss nonetheless and this makes me happy.

So keep that in mind. I think we all need to figure out how we can incorporate things such as chocolate, cookies and such into our daily diets without going overboard. That is our struggle. That is why we have to diet.

If I can keep a steady weight around 128-130# doing what we are doing, I'm going to keep doing it.

Woo hoo!!!

Debbie, congrats on your weight loss. Since I eat verything IN MODERATION my weight is going down too;)

I forgot to post yesterday:rolleyes: My eating was good, except that small piece of cake I had.

I did great yesterday until dinner time then it was junk, but I am happy to say IN MODERATION. And I didn't let it turn into an out and out free for all.:D

Started when I took the Kids to see G-Force and had popcorn. Then I stole a few of their fries at dinner. Then I ended the night with an ice cream fix but only 1/2 cup.

Hi Guys,

I like your thread! I have been thinking along the same lines you are and have started my own heathy eating without counting calories and macros. It is nice. You guys motivate me. I'm not sure how often I 'll be able to check in but just wanted to let you know I'm reading and doing the same thing as you are!

Good for you Laura! Any loss is a big loss! Especially when you're working with those last couple of pounds! I only have 1 pound left to go and I'm hovering right between 126 and 127 when I have my little snacks. I'm happy with that, but would love to get down to 125 just because it's my goal!

This weekend has turned out to be pretty good! I made a surprisingly good chicken dish last night with bell peppers, onion, garlic, olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Other than my brown rice, which I still haven't perfected, it came out really well!

Today, I had the urge to bake so I made some peppermint patti brownies! Yummy!

Well I'm not gonna post what I ate this w/e because it would go on for pages. Just kidding--but it wasn't in moderation either. :p

I'm sorry to say I left the grocery store yesterday carbless. Well, not entirely carbless as there was broccoli & asparagus in the cart, so I guess I left with about a total of 20 carbs. Carbs just scare the crap outta me.

Good news is, I remembered breakfast today. I had a hard boiled egg.

I'm trying to cut down on cardio too. I noticed that the more I gained weight or, when I topped out, the tougher it was to lose, I went tougher & more frequent on cardio. I was not happy unless I had at least a 500 cal burn 6 days a week. Last week I worked out 9 times. One hour for 4 days, two hours for three days (two days was an hour of cardio before work, an hour of lifting after work, & Sunday was an hour cardio/hour lifting at the gym).

I'm cutting it down to 4 days a week on non-lifting days. I'm overtraining, I'm exhausted, & I'm not getting any results. I need to really clean up my eating, which means going at least 3 weekends without a cheat.

Laura - You are not alone on blowing it this weekend. I won't admit what I ate either, but I will say it involved ice cream. I also tried the extra cardio route for two weeks, I did two workouts a day either one lifting and one cardio or two cardios, both an hour long. And guess what happened? Nothing!! So I have given up that. I don't know what the answer is, but something has got to give soon. I am miserable.:(:(:(

Well Linda and Laura,

I will have to jump in your group ...My kids had friends over this weekend...sleepovers which involved going to the movies, DQ, making brownies....which I think says it all for my eating habits.....

Today Monday....and I start again.....:( but I have to say with all that I did not gain but I did not lose still 130 lbs

Hi Guys,

this weekend I was not so good either. I blame it on that time of the month. But I am talking to myself all day today, even though the cravings are still screaming at me with no hungerpangs in sight...

Yeah, the double cardio burned me out in a jiffy! Not going there again... Not sure where I'm going except trying to embrace the eating healthy and in moderation. It's a challenge for me to listen to my body instead of to rules and when there are no rules I go crazy. I need to just dig in my heels and tough it out until I am used to be sensitive to my body again. This thread helps doing that!
